    Rebadged vehicles never work. Sad MBZ bought into this. They should fire the exec who approved this project

      weirdshibainu very true so like a navara,the new Amarok looks and feel more luxurious in a pick up

      Have you seen the G class ??
      Its the same story. They sell very well.

    • @weirdshibainu
      @weirdshibainu 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      naxT890 do you mean the g550? That's not rebadged.

    • @weirdshibainu
      @weirdshibainu 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Car Freak I disagree. Higher end car buyers are some of the most educated car buyers about their brands in the market. I use to sell BMWs....you had to know your product and the competition's product inside and out. Benz buyers will know what this really is. I think it'll go away after a couple of years

    • @weirdshibainu
      @weirdshibainu 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Car Freak actually they didnt.....suvs took off almost immediately. They were a new product category, not a rebadge

    Awesome review. But guess you haven't tried the new Honda Ridgeline why you say luxury is missing, or big three American truck top models.

    • @allanmacbadger5692
      @allanmacbadger5692 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No one in the UK would touch an american truck, cheap and tacky.

    • @TheKingkingg
      @TheKingkingg 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Allan McDigger funny that the Europeans that comes here buy or lease American trucks, but the Ridgeline is a truck, but different.

    Built by and in the Nissan factory so premium potential undermined. Discovery Commercial with rear seat conversion only premium option for commercials. VW commercial treat customers like shit especially on trade in valuations so why buy an Amarok when they cost the same as a Land Rover!

    • @allanmacbadger5692
      @allanmacbadger5692 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm glad some one else sees through the VW Anorak bullshit, it goes fast buy it also falls apart.

    • @sparkmeister4706
      @sparkmeister4706 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And the Amarok is restrected to the lower commercal vehicle speed limits in the UK.

    "Fashionistas" drive pickup trucks because they lend credibility/authenticity to their otherwise thin veneer; which the Mercedes lacks.

    Here in America, you can get a luxury truck that can cost just under $100000. Plus it has 925 foot pounds of torque

    That dash board looks typically Merc cheap and tacky with those horrible plastic X air vents, give me genuine Nissan Navarra or Ford Ranger any day. As with all Merc's over rated and over priced.

    Haha. MB wants to get into the pickup market cos they want a share of the pie. But not willing to spend money so just rebadged an Nissan and put some MB parts from other existing MB models. What a shame

    Steering is not slow at all in Ram 1500 it rides like a range rover and it's got the interior to back it up not like this copy cloned X class

    Why is it so damn slow?? Gas mileage is high but somebody who buys a pick up isnt worried about gas mileage, shouldve uped the power even if gas mileage came.down

    • @ApurtureSci
      @ApurtureSci 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cristian Chavira Because the Nissan diesels in it are rather industrial and made for durability and lugging heavy stuff around. I agree that there should be some faster options, at least the x350d next year will be better.

      I know MB has been building trucks, but those are for commercial not your regular Nissan or Ford F-150's. Mind you this is a rebadging of a likely Nissan made truck. This degrades the brand of MB. Even BMW don't do that.

    • @441meatloaf
      @441meatloaf 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well SUV is a bit different than a truck. Jaguars and Bentley have SUV's and that's fine actually as it still can be marketed as a luxury SUV. But the word "truck" is synonymous with being cheap and tough kinda like how Ford advertises their F150's. So MB having this truck in their line of vehicles isn't necessarily a good image for the brand. Hence none of the other luxury brands like Audi, Jaguar even go that far in trying to get attraction to a different customer base. If people wanted to buy a better truck they should just go to Toyota.

    • @441meatloaf
      @441meatloaf 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      When people think of Ford, luxury is definitely not a word that comes to mind. But Toyota does have one of the toughest truck than even ford has, its called the Hilux. You may think the world is changing, but for sure people that buys mercedes don't expect themselves to be purchasing a M badged branding on a truck. People buy Benz because of the image, the truck is not really a good image enhancer for people that buy these cars. Mind you in that luxury world it is all about face and image. No one in the right mind spending that kind of money would buy a truck even over a C class.
      And you said it yourself, Cadilac had a truck, but then no more as it actually cheapened the brand.

    It looks like an ugly Nissan. This is possibly one of the ugliest trucks to ever currently exist so far.
