I am from RECIFE in Brazil, South America, I love these minis but particularly the GP, now we have a clubman with the same power wish minis had 306 hp permanently
I remember seeing the concept version of this at Goodwood FOS a few years ago and it looked impressive then. Obviously had to be tamed a little bit from that version but the production model does look ace. I'd buy it for the wings and arches alone!
You either like them or you don’t, before you say something, i have driven one, a few years ago admittedly and I found it leaden, heavy, as if the wheels where made of Lead, the dash was all retro like Mini, start button/ key ignition in an awkward position, not intuitive, and I’d go as far as say it’s a 2+2 , no way a long distance car if your in the back seats, and it ain’t cheap especially if you add options, which you will because some should be standard, and, there are far too many options to personalise it also.😘
What I appreciate most in reviews is the honesty. There is no reason to sugar coat the look of those fenders! And in general I feel that he's trying to sell me the car.
@@AbuHurairahSiddique I would say that CarWow showed a clear bias towards certain manufacturers in past videos; the very reason I stopped watching their videos.
@@AbuHurairahSiddique I am not and didn't say anything regarding this video by AutoTrader. In this video's case, "selling you" the car - the video in which that vehicle is the subject, isn't bias by default.
Don't understand why the wheel fenders are carbon but then go to a cheap plastic. Especially at the rear, the rear diffuser which isn't a real diffuser is a cheap ABS plastic. Still like the car tho but think if your gonna go extreme you might as well go all out
Just says how messed up the GP really is when the clubman jcw is faster!!!!! That means the clubman which is a small mini estate car, is faster than this nice looking 3dr
sadly Mini chose not to offer a manual. so no purchase by me. I think BMW are so out of tune with their customer base. perhaps more than any other manufacturer.
@@AutoTraderTV Sporty, but not aggressive. The overall design of the car isn't intended to be "aggressive". It's a car marketed to the youth and the hipster types of the world. PS. I own and love my R56 JCW. Which is, I think, better looking, but technically inferior to the new car. Though that's enough to stop me liking or buying these new F56 cars.
No manual option is a massive mistake in my eyes. Like the current (and my own) JCW, it's a driver's car. Proper drivers cars should have a manual box for the ultimate experience. Only lazy ass millennials need autos and most of them can't afford food anyway, so why cater for them!?
No manual, stupid plastic body panels, stupid red lipstick, can't wait to see these driving around Chelsea with all that boot space filled with Harrods bags 🙄
Irshaad Shaikh I practice what I preach 😂 But to be honest you could insert any car you like in my comment and it will either have more power or cost less
Power to weight is the real deal. I suggest you drive whatever you like. Most of my motorcycles were faster and more fun and more in the real world than all these high priced bubble transportation units. The original mini beat up on the big powerful V8’s of the day when first released - go figure.
Anthony O'Loughlin it is important for sure, but so is weight distribution and the M240 is near 50/50 whilst the gp is near 60/40 towards the front. The B58 is massively underrated and has more tuning potential anyway. The M240i May have the better power to weight ratio because the minis aren’t the light fleet footed cars they used to be, it’s more of a maxi. Either way I’d bet that the 2 series offers the superior driving experience.
Lol 10k? Sure, if literally all you care about is speed. I doubt you'll find a 10k f56 cooper s, with less than 90k miles on the clock and no wear/tear.
@@the___truth8038 there are 100's for sale under 10k with less than 30k miles. I bought one in 2018 with 11k miles for 10.8k and that was fully loaded. Have a look
I owned #40 JCW Challenge and as you say it is a brilliant track car but way too hard a ride to use as a daily (plus the very basic spec). Have a deposit down for a GP3, don’t mind it being an Auto (this box is superb in manual mode) plus it has the spec to make a really good all rounder.
Great video review Rory, i bet you were itching to drive though, i used to have the '53 Cooper s, which was crazy and had the iconic whining super charger and that open bonnet vent, i was invited to order a limited number of the 1st GP which had the super charger. This GP 3 should of been fitted with a super charger to give it that aggressive whining sound and instant power.
I've heard that rear "aluminium strut base" isn't even connected to the top of the rear suspension It does as little for the car as the fake spoiler which needs an extra rubber lip because its completely flat
There is nothing to hate about the speed, design, handling and even the comfort in a car like this, but the lack of analog sensation, raw power and the sound of the old school 60's -70's (and 80's) cars in the same range will forever be missed (at least by those race freaks among us who had the pleasure of experiencing them).

I like this guy. Anyone get disappointed when shown driving scene but he's not on wheel?
yes lol i was like wtf u aint drivin damn
This chap was on the U.K. top gear program. He keeps smashing cars so they don’t let him drive anymore
I love his down to earth very personable presenting style
No manual instantly puts off the majority of people who would buy this model. R56 was by far the best mini
I quite like it wish they offered in manual like previous generations. I would take this over BMW M1.35i .
Same thing, jst a 135 in disguise
Yep i might do that as well
No chance no back seat barely any space in that back...BMW all day...
No manual? Hahaha, no chance
I am from RECIFE in Brazil, South America, I love these minis but particularly the GP, now we have a clubman with the same power wish minis had 306 hp permanently
would be lot of homework to clean that stupid fender gap.
Exterior looks perfect 😍
It's nice to see cars go a little bonkers sometimes :)
@@AutoTraderTV So true
What's the Doug Score?
On other channels the rear cross brace has no strengthening benefits. It's just there to stop luggage moving into the front.
Those semi-detached fender flares ruin the entire car. There's a reason this hasn't been done before. Hideous.

Cracking stuff from Rory.
BTW those side parts aren't carbon fiber its a cheaper composition material that gives the impressive its Carbon fibre 1:30
it's carbon, just a mix of plastic. look it up
I remember the Mini BBR GTi had 307hp in 2005 sure it was on top gear
Yes Rory!! Great to see you back
Looks pretty good - for a Mini
You went all that way for a ride along

I hate this gen of mini, front end is too long, doesn't look like a mini wheelbase, the R53 is the best version imo, it looks a d drives like a mini.
Rear spoiler looks RIDICULOUS.....
It's not crickets you should be driving the motor so the audience can get better feedback

Maybe 60fps
did he just say "we know minis are agressive from the front" wtf dude they not😭 👁️👁️ 0:48
Same engine as the 2019 BMW M135i but without the xDrive then?
Not a fan of the Mini by Halfords circa 2003...good video though!
Why the fuck would Mini put that massive vent on the hood if its not functional, smh 🤦♂️
THIS MAN IS THE BEST CAR REVIEWER IN THE BUSINESS
THE BEST
I am pissed that they did not let him drive it.
Red bits on the front look tacky.......as for the wheel arches...oh dear
Basically a fwd M135i?
Eh, the m135i is fwd
not a real vent... lame. Way too much money for fwd. Used Cayman is the better choice.
Fiesta st is better ffs, half the price and revo it to 250
it looks like a restyling wich made in a garage
No manual, no care. Also that price is crazy
