- In 1976, an airplane hijacking unfolded that would change history. Air France Flight 139, en route from Tel Aviv, Israel to Paris, France fell into the hands of terrorists. Led by members of the German Baader-Meinhof group and Palestinians from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), the plane was diverted to Entebbe, Uganda. There, Idi Amin, fueled by frustration over his country’s deteriorating relations with Israel, welcomed the hijackers with seemingly open arms.
This set the stage for a daring Israeli rescue mission, an operation that would not only free hostages but also deliver a blow to Amin's regime.

I am an African American from Washington,DC. I am an pan africanist and an african historian, and i appreciate you and this channel.
I’m in Md. in Laurel are you in any groups that deals with African history or the advancement of us?
This man laugh is something I can't forget
Same. It turns my blood to ice.
“Dada, what are you going to do with my family!” Dada laughs hysterically.
I cannot deny the greatness of the narrator's voice.
I stopped watching because I couldn't understand what he was saying.
I love that picture of Idi Amin with Golda Meyer. He towers over her and she still looks at him like "watch your step, bubbele. I'll kick your ass!" 😂
She was such a badass man
@@jamesrussell5196 Yep. And more of a man than most men!
She was a great woman and earned her place in history. Idi Anin was just another African "strongman" thug who nearly destroyed his country and is derided in history.
She handed Idi Amin his ASS ON A PLATTER! 😂
@@malverdeislove They were friends
Amin was a clown.

Another great documentary by the best online source for African news there is. Amazing film as always ! I have to say that the interviewer who asked Amin about his Hitler quote is a much braver man than me. Here he is, asking Amin a question which might displease him while they’re sitting on a canoe in crocodile-infested waters. And that famous laugh of Amins is anything but comforting.
I'm a Kenyan lover of history. I'm learning a lot of new information from this video. I've heard this story before but never done excellently like this. Good work!
Seen a couple about the same topic. Your is the best one yet!
Amin was loving the international attention - until the raid and that changed it all - that buffoon was humiliated. Looked good on the SOB.
Amazing presentation!
Yet many of my confused and misled African brothers do see Idi Amin as a role model.
Thank you. I always enjoy watching your videos.
When i thought i knew all that went down, this documentary goes ahead to reveal how Kenyans and Ugandans alike suffered for the success of this rescue mission.
Thank you Tatienda!
Just found this channel because of a YT short about anti-poacher’s boots. Tried searching ‘African poacher’ but auto fill decided African biographics was what I wanted to type. Either way, a new documentary channel from a non-American viewpoint is refreshing and I will be binge watching every video you’ve made
Also your voice is incredibly soothing, almost too soothing for the topics😂
Thank you @africanbiographics, I always look forward to listening to your uploads ❤❤❤
Awesome and Amazing Documentary
really great video
Very good and well narrated.
I think you forgot to credit the operations room for some of the footage you used
Shush jew
Amazing Work Love this channel. I suggest Moise Tshombe for a future video
which screen recorder are you using?
Any army could have beaten idi amins as his was pretty lax on training.
Well the Tanzanian army did, Amin's army was good at brutalizing unarmed civilians but not much else
I would categorize the ugandan army at that time as being very primitive with a lack of discipline...

Good story, nice work. However,Bruce McKenzie was said to have carried a bomb concealed in a stuffed antelope head as a gift to Amin and it is said that just as Bruce McKenzie was about to board his plane back to Kenya, Idi Amin had his stuffed antelope head brought back to that earoplane which ended up exploding in Kenya's airspace.
Bruce and his fellow agent Biwott were known Mossad.

You can also do the 1971 and later 1979 rebellion against Idi Amin by Uganda exiles in Tanzania, Kenya led by Gen Tito Okello, Gen Bazilio Olara Okello and Gen Oyite Ojok from Tanzania and Kenya supported by Tanzania president Julius Nyerere and Kenya VP Oginga Odinga .
Music,.why must there be music??
At the time this happened my teachers husband was in entebee and watched it from his hotel window and took pictures.
Amin loved Scotland and I don't know why? Any answers? He was a tyrant of the very worst kind. I remember this playing out on the TV. The British subject was very brave indeed and was such a help to all authorities. the film Raid on Entebbe is a very good watch. During these time hi-jacking was a very real threat and once the USA and The UK confirmed there would be no negotiations with terrorists the practice fizzled out. Obviously, greater aircraft security played it's part.
A butcher and a beast
My Mum met Idi Amin, didn’t like him.
the brother of PM netanyahu was one of the officers who took part on this daring rescue operation
1 civilian ol lady was killed by idi amin bec of the humiliating rescue operation of the IDF

In 1971 Idi Amin staged a coup against President Milton Obote and became president of Uganda . Milton Obote had criticized the apartheid regime in South Africa and the UK government detested his position on South Africa .
Britain then supported Idi Amin’s coup against Milton Obote .
In 1979 Uganda exiles in Tanzania, Kenya led by Gen Tito Okello, Gen Bazillio Olara Okello, Gen Oyite Ojok together with Airforce Commander Major Alfred Otto, Airforce Cpt Harry Oluoch , Cpt Peter Oringi , Lt Col John Ogole , Buffalo Commander Major Eric Odwar, Cpt Oyile, Lt Okot,Lt Okumu,Jabuloni Okee,Lt Col Adiryano Ojok,Opon Acak,Laban Okello and Gereson Okello supported by Tanzania President Julius Nyerere and Kenya VP Oginga Odinga launched a rebellion against Idi Amin through Mwanza ,Tanzania/Kisumu ,Kenya on L. Victoria restoring President Milton Obote .
In 1980 Yoweri Museveni,a former assistant researcher to President Milton Obote, disagreed with Obote and Launched Luweero war .
Gen David Oyite Ojok(one of best trained soldiers in Uganda history,at least 6 years EU,US and comparable to Gen Bazillio Olara Okello in the battle field) died in a plane crash on his way to Luweero on December 2 1983 .
This changed the direction of the war . As Chief of Staff Gen David Oyite Ojok had contained Yoweri Museveni’s NRA(National Resistance Army) rebel insurgency in the Luweero Triangle .
Between 1981-86 Paul Kagame and Fred Rwigema together with other banyarwanda tutsi exiled in Uganda fought alongside Yoweri Museveni in Uganda .
In 1985 regional/nepotistic disagreements between Uganda National Liberation Army Commander, General Tito Okello(Luo-Acholi) and President Milton Obote(Luo-Langi) over the promotion of Smith Acak Opon(Luo-Langi) to replace the late Gen Oyite Ojok(Luo-Langi) instead of General Bazillio Okello(Luo-Acholi) caused a coup against Milton Obote .
Gen Tito Okello became president(1985-86) and Gen Bazillio Olara Okello became army commander . Daniel Moi of Kenya called peace talks in Nairobi between Yoweri Museveni and Gen Tito Okello .
The agreement(witnessed by Ambassador Bethwell Kiplagat of Kenya) required Gen Tito Okello to be president and Yoweri Museveni to be vice president .
Gen Tito Okello proposed his nephew, Oxford and Harvard Trained Fulbright Scholar, Uganda Lawyer exiled in Kenya Ambassador Olara Otunnu(Luo-Acholi) to be president after transition to civilian rule .
Moral story is Israel will turn the world upside for its citizens ❤❤❤
And everyone else is just collateral to them
We are a tribe its how we roll . No one left behind
Imperialism from muslims 😂😂😂😂😂 lol
Israel unalivin hostages is a tale as old as time
I might be quite late but I just said the same thing above you it's a story that we just have to keep hearing palestinians taking hostages and murdering jews I'm kind of tired of it
The most interesting part of this raid is that it acts as a catalyst to further fuel Benjamin Netanyahu's hate for Palestinians, because his brother Yonni Netanyahu was the commander of the mission and he was the only Israeli soldier killed in combat, so if you were wondering why Benjamin absolutely resents Palestinians besides the fact that he is a racist bigoted warmonger, it's the fact that he blames Palestinians for his brother's death
and he wont be entirely wrong.
No he tried to make peace with them
Well, they did kill his brother and are responsible for multiple acts of terror. So saying his "Racist Bigoted Warmonger" is kinda crazy, when you ignore the actions of Palestine and others who picks on Israel.
Israel and Palestine were and are in collision. Of course they are at war.
They could have gone elsewhere. The Zionists took aim at Palestine.
No he's wrong because his people stole their land and committed genocide.
It was Idi Amins idea to add the multicolored mohawk to the chicken on Uganda’s flag.
It's a crested crane, that's how it looks. Ignorant 🤡
It's called a Crested crane
Crested crane 🤡
Heard of a crested crane?? 🤡
I enjoyed most of your videos but not this
What I learn about idi Amin is that he doesn’t forgive and must pay back in full. The lion of Africa that the west was scared of
The West was never scared of him lol
🤣🤣🤣 you all are very funny people, a lion who killed more than 500000 of its own people, are you people high over there?🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
@@yourtrappedinmygenjutsu they’re scared of him
@@abilitytalkfam6073 what about king of Belgium that killed 30 million Congo citizens?
No they weren't scared of that imbecile.
I would vote idi Amin 2024 USA Lol
A no nonsense president unlike the puppet we have now.
Didn’t he eat people
No nonsense? 🤣 he was a Society puppet who butchered his own people and nearly destroyed Uganda. If you think he was such a great person, why not move to Eritrea where another ruler like him is in charge?
No, Amin was the Worst president Uganda produced LOL
They're all puppets. Even the orange one is a puppet.
You know he killed more then 50000 of his own people right?
Good story, but dont glorify Israel government. Benjamin Netanyahu is going through post traumatiskt stress. Long live freedom.
Um, what does this story have to do with the current Israeli government or Netanyahu? Also, are you seriously saying we should not praise Israel for saving theor people from the butcher of Uganda? You see how crazy that looks?
Having your entire historical worldview dictated by current trends on TikTok and its consequences
It was an absolutely incredible and skilled commando raid. Period. It ranks up there with the execution of Osama bin Laden and the Israeli capture of Adolf Eichmann as well as Israel’s destruction of Saddam Husseins nuclear reactor in 1983. It should be applauded and admired strictly on that basis. What the Israeli government is now doing to the Palestinians is completely irrelevant.
All my Ugandan friends who were alive during the Amin years remember Issac Malayamungu so I definitely sat up and took notice when he was mentioned in this video. His conduct after Entebbe sounds just like the man they’ve described. Do you - or anyone - know what ultimately happened to him ? One friend said he had heard Malyamungu was killed during the Tanzanian invasion but it was never more than a rumor. Even online I can’t track him down. Do you have any idea if he’s still alive ?
Another person who ignores the actions of others and exposes their racism because Israel keeps whooping their ass:)
I agree with you OP
Why always focusing on negative stuff from Africa? Didn’t loose forces in Mogadishu. You have to understand the bigger context of things around Amin’s day. He made mistakes and was like a wounded lion fighting against imperialist and became paranoid.
Amin was a brutal murderer and despot.
He made mistake by killing over 50000 of his own people? 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ You need to stop whatever you're smoking.
@@abilitytalkfam6073 Not just smoking but also ingesting. Where did you come up with the figures. What difference is he from those who’ve sent their young men to be slaughtered in wars in Europe. Understand the context and don’t stoop to dirty rhetoric
@@alomadinkadealova4323 your comment only proved you actually don't have any knowledge on the topic you are trying to engage on LoL, read some book about the man you're trying to defend or at least do some little research, sending young men is different from killing your own people.
AfricanBiographics is one of the best channels for teaching people that Africa is far more than suffering and destitution. On the other hand Africa has had a rough history as of late so if he’s gonna cover its people’s history he’s gonna need to cover some dark moments
