    I'd look into steel toe flip flops if you are going to do stuff that makes sparks

    Ls engine sounds great. Looking forward to more progress. And I would also recommend wearing shoes while doing any work on a car.

    I'm not a big LS swap guy either but that Pontiac motor looks really bad and they are a lot of $$$ to rebuild if even possible etc. and I would rather do a LS than a carb'd SBC in a second gen TA. You are doing a thorough job on this and I look forward to see what is next.

    So are you putting white car parts on the SE car or are you transferring SE parts to the white body? That white car looks clean. Is that 400 a W72? If so I’m interested in the block and carb. Thanks!

      Yea white parts are going on the SE. The white car has a great roof and floor pan etc.

    Pontiac engines are unique power plants.i dont like ls swapping 1st and 2nd gens either because there pure pontiac cars not corporate engines.BUT.ATLEAST HES RESTORING IT AND THANG GOD GM INVENTED THE LS ENGINE AND ITS GM S ENGINE.

    Doesn’t matter what options it is, you are not going back stock so all bets are off.

      Sure, but I can put all the gold pin striping on and the gold grilles and dash and know inside that it's actually a Special Edition

      You can find them on ebay I'm sure. I might not keep it on the car. If I do decide to take it off, I will just give it to you

    If you're throwing this much money at it, please t56 swap it too. Automatics are for the weak.

      I'm not ever going to race it around or try to launch or burn tires. I'll just be cruising around in it doing every day driving. Kind of like a daily driver that I mix in with my other cars I drive alot. Gonna stick to automatic

    If that’s the original 400 to that car, sell it somebody who will restore it properly. Stop ruining these original cars with ls swaps.

    • @beardedreviews
      @beardedreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would love nothing more than to keep the original motor in that car. That was the original plan. But until I take the heads off and look inside, I won't know if it's even possible to machine the block. And once it's bored out to get rid of the rust, is it still original at that point? No, it's not. Also it's my car, and it's not something I'm flipping. So I'll do what I want to do with it

      As you said, it's your car and you can do what you want, but if the current engine is a numbers matching engine, then the car would be more valuable if you kept that engine in the car, if it's salvageable. That way the block would have the same VIN number as the rest of the car. If you're going the restomod route, then an LS engine, 18" wheels, coilover suspension and all that stuff makes sense.
      Seeing how good the body, floor and trunk are on the '79, it almost seems like it would be better to swap over the '77 stuff to it. Is it possible to swap the VINs from the '79 to the '77 (never tried that)? Either way, looking forward to watching your progress.
