The All-New Ford Maverick Lobo

If you are anything like us, you have probably been wondering what would happen if you took the Ford Maverick and turned it into a Street-performance build to take to an autocross or drift event? Well, with the all-new FORD Maverick Lobo you get just that. The engineers at Ford raided the parts bin to make a truck that has a lowered ride height, tuned suspension and brakes from the European Focus ST. Ford designed the Ford Maverick Lobo so that you can use it daily and then go drift or autocross, or both. It still has a bed to haul stuff, and it still tows up to 2000 pounds. So, what do you think of the Maverick Lobo?

Shame it doesn’t have a more potent powertrain. Also weird why they chose to name that trim the Lobo instead of ST or something.

That is the reason why it isn't an ST. No power upgrades. They probably went with Lobo instead since it's essentially a handling package with a better transmission that should, in theory, boast better 0-60 times regardless of engine power.
It's already proven that this engine can handle over 300 horsepower with mods and tuning. That's all we'd need to do and bam, essentially a Maverick ST at that point.

@@mystic7055 true, though Ford has used the "ST-Line" trims in the past for more appearance package stuff. But hopefully you're right in that maybe Ford is angling for people to throw some bolt-ons and a tune at it to make it their own (and that is why they felt the need to give it a different transmission gearset and such).

They don't wanna do an st version of this because it will demolish f150 and ranger sales. 300hp, AWD, pick up, it would be a perfect all around vehicle

Better than Chevy which uses the rs as a trim level and doesn’t offer any difference than the other trims
