Yea no and the rise of BJP shows that isn't the case. The overwhelming number of supporters are so called lower castes. Nowadays you'll find a UC and SC uniting under being Hindu vs along caste lines. People are slowly undoing the bs that is caste and reading the Gita and understanding varna and the idea of Arya (Hindus) vs Mlecchas (non-Hindus). A Chamar (SC) is more my brother than a Muslim, Christian, etc. If that wasn't the caste we wouldn't be finding people of all castes belonging to similar gotras (lineages) despite having different castes. Can't have the same gotra unless you share a blood ancestor which proves that varna was fluid and different members of the family took on different professions like they do today. You can have a singer and a doctor in the same family while the father is a carpenter. Same back then. The issue here is the south seems to be completely brainwashed. In the NW, as a Punjabi Hindu, my people have continued to be Hindu even after countless invasions and colonization under Islam and Christianity. Why the south has fallen so much under just two decades of missionary work is astounding. This should be a wake up call for everyone regardless of the state. Why would you vote for someone who ways these things? That's what voters need to ask themselves.

Now that DMK is a part of I.N.D.I.A, all that BJP has to do it keep showing the original footage of these remarks by Stalin/Kharge in North India and grab more seats simply because it shows the voters what kind of dirt this alliance of opposition includes! Also, this provides an opportunity to BJP to invest more in Southern leaders like Annamalai to change long term dynamics of the politics of Southern states.

I am tam bram who was born and raised in Mumbai, and I am saddened to tell rest of India that in TN my own brother and sisters don't like being called a brahmin that's the level of proselytization that happens in TN. I also feel bad that rest of India talks about kashimir pandits but doesn't try to see the tortures brahmins in TN went through because of periyar. The entire state was built by my ancestors from education, temples to even city planning which is now operated by goons like DMK.

I am a Tamil Brahmin from Iyer community. As you said correctly DMk does politics by talking against hinduism snd sanatana dharma. We are hurt and many of hindus do not vote for them. But they try to divide hindus using discrimination against some caste which is not practiced today. I can guarantee. In my house itself there are many inter caste marriages. DMK gets muslims and christian votes completely and the remaining votes they get from hindus. Thanks to SM now that Stalin statement become viral and entire world took notice. Even in Tamil nadu there is anger against but it should get converted into votes against dmk.
In the end it's AIADMK will take those + Karunanidhi udhay's grandfather also used the same language for a few years but stopped using it after decades

Karnataka and telugu people are different
Most important aspect non TN people to understand is that word 'Hindu' or Sanatana is completely removed from people's mind in TN. Vast majority of people recognize themselves as to belongs to particular caste rather than a Hindu. This is due to decades of maliciously planned effort by the DK and DMK and even ADMK. People's memory being a Hindu is erased a long time back inspite of them being Hindus and very much practicing all rituals.
This makes very easy for DMK to keep hitting majority religions. This is a due to slow poisoning administered by these political parties.
I was hoping someone from Tami Nadu would explain(in comments) how and why it is ok in Tamil Nadu to abuse Hinduism to an extent where you can say anything you want.
Simple reason, tamil voters care less about religion and more about caste, welfare schemes etc.
If you are really interested to know, read first hundred pages of book Breaking India by Rajiv Malhotra. You will know how Tamil Population has been brainwashed first by the British and then by periyar and his party since past few centuries.
All sorts of European east India companies landed there and brought their missionaries. They started working there long before in north. They took control of temples and temple properties were given out to churches even. Then communists and likes of Periayar made it normal to hate Brahmins and Hindus.
I had a Tamil Brahmin friend working in Noth. He married a Punjabi girl. They visited their in laws in TN. His wife once told me that one evening they were returning home from some place when they passed a group of people. She didn't understand what was going on but her husband told her to hide her mangalsutra. Apparently the design of it would have given away their Brahmin identity and that would have been dangerous and invited some sort of attack. If just walking on road beside Brahmin hating political group endangers you then I don't have words...
I am not even a Brahmin but all sorts of hate comments flying around it makes me wonder whether it is even safe to travel there. I wouldn't want to be attract negative attention for speaking Hindi to my son while walking on TN road.

Casteism is not only an Indian phenomenon, it is practiced widely in Europe, Middle East, Africa and especial in Muslim countries. Just show the foreigners the mirror. The reason why Hindi bashing is common & acceptable by Hindus in Tamil Nadu is because majority of Hindus in Tamil Nadu are crypto Christians. They don't change their religion in govt records in order to avail benefits. If they change their status they will not get benefits like reservation

Why don't all the youtubers explain all the castes and communities in other religions? I think everyone needs to know and discuss more about these things.
I am from Tamil Nadu. And the truth is we know them too well. This statement is not shocking to us because we excepted such things from them. His grandfather Karunanidhi ordered all his party workers to cut the sacred threads of Brahmins-and their hair( bun) during 1980-1990s. And many did what was asked by Karunanidhi. Collected all those threads and sent to him as a proof.
Apart from that, I feel like just because the Muslim invaders didn’t do much damage to Tamil Nadu compare to other states in Bharath. We Tamilians had an easy times and so no feelings for Hinduism and no connection as a Hindus. On the top, Christian conversions, increase in Muslim population and political atheism made many Hindus in TN a name shake Hindus.
That’s y, if the same thing was said about Christian or Muslim(which will never happen). There would be a great outrage even from name shake woke Hindus. Sad times!..

Tamil Nadu is ground zero for the Dravidian project. When the family tree model of language evolution was first proposed in Europe in the late 18th century, based on the notions of lexical similarities of Sanskrit, Latin, Greek etc, there was a sudden rush to create "family trees" for every language on the planet and their relative relationships. Bishop Robert Caldwell came to British India for proselytization but he was the one who ended up plotting a tree for South Indian languages as separate from the Proto-Indo-European language family tree.
The concept of the Proto-Indo-European gathered steam in Germanic countries in Europe where they imagined an ancestry from the blond-blue-eyed son of Noah, a.k.a Japheth as distinct from the brown son of Noah (Shem), and the black son of Noah (Ham). This German atavism against the Catholic Church's policy of identifying the Urheimat of Adam in Iraq-Syria (and the Ursprache as Hebrew/Aramaic) led to the push for the reconstruction of the hypothetical P-I-E, and new proposals for the Aryan homeland which ranged from Pontic Steppe to the North Pole.
In Madras Presidency, Caldwell had a free reign to apply these concepts, however flawed they were in their conception, to South Indian languages. The political situation in Tamil Nadu today results from the work of Caldwell. People in TN actually believe that they are the descendants of original inhabitants of India who were subjugated by invading Aryans (despite Caldwell only proposing a linguistic case and not that of gene flow) and the Brits were there to save them from this "evil". Contrastingly in North India, the Brits established a kinship with land owning castes by claiming that Brits were the original Aryans who returned after 2500 years and that the "sunburnt Indian Aryans" need to collaborate with the Brits to continue to subjugate and civilize the aboriginal Dravidians.

I can understand Mohan Bhagwat ji's words but I believe that as long as we treat people differently on the basis of birth, caste discrimination will not be completely eliminated and giving reservation on the basis of caste is in a way birth basis caste discrimination. I think that reservation should be on economic basis and not on the basis of birth and this is my opinion as a Scheduled Caste person.

I believe it was not caste, it was profession. A gold Smith, a black Smith etc are sonar, lohar etc. How can you call them backward ?

On the aspect of Tamil people s hate for Hindi or sanatan ot Brahmins, it was something that was started during Hindi imposition by post independence Congress at center and periyar who ran a non- political outfit to oppose the hindu imposition, oppose Brahmins untouchability of SCs and pro atheist activism.
Periyar never wanted to make it a political agenda. Since he had a good number of followers, DMK ( political outfit) used promotion of periyars ideology for political mileage. It did work and they used it mildly till karunanidhi was there in a cultured way. Once KarunaNidhi passed away, the immature leadership of today a DMK has gone on hyper mode and are slowly exposing themselves to Hindus. Brahmins in Tamil Nadu need to connect more with non Brahmins and SC Hindus should realize that evangelicals/ fanatic Christian’s in tamilbadu( 60% Christian’s in TN) are dividing Hindus by caste for their advantage. Till this awareness comes fully, there is a perception created by DMK that there are two types to Hinduism- Brahmanic Hinduism and non- brahmanic Hinduism . this absurd thought prevails in Kerala also. That’s why these two states hate Hinduism.

I dont hink 90% of people use bharat. I dont think even 10% of the people use the name Bharat. Almost everyone uses India. With advent of cricket where it is always India vs X country, India is the name that is used. Even in villages it is almost always referred to as India. This is in villages in karnataka.
There is one issue with comparing India to deutsche land and germany's name... There is no colonoal history associated with germany.. I dont have an issue with it being called India along with Bharat..
In our culture there is sound associated with the name and name becomes important in that sense.

I really appreciate Sham trying to tell khushal it's an individual choice to call it "Bharat" and want to say "India" is an english word and want to drop it. But khushal gets annoyed ig, khushal let other people have their say in thia not everything bent in your way of direction.
I also now prefer calling it Bharat instead of India. I'm not saying I'm not gonna use India again, it depends on the need of the situation, but for now on it is Bharat for me.
