Your review missed some key points. First off high quality speaker systems need time to break in. In this case 10 hours, as stated in the Fi70 manual. Second even though this speaker system advertises a "bluetooth" speaker, it was really meant as an all in one home stereo system, hence the digital optical input, and two 8" built in sub woofers. Third, this can play FLAC, WAV, AAC etc. with the help of chrome cast (it even says it on the company's website). Fourth, yes bluetooth will never replaces a direct source for sound quality. But you're misguided on aptx. Aptx is design to transmit more data than the average bluetooth SBC (sub band codec), so that's a step up from regular blue tooth. However you won't hear a difference unless both devices have aptx. Fifth, the remote also let you toggles with the bass and treble to adjust the EQ to your listening preferences. So give it some time for it to break in and play your songs again. I promised you'll notice a big difference. If anything this speaker is mid grade audiohphile quality just by reading the specs and not solely focusing on the bluetooth function.
hahaha i got a notifcation :D, as usual a great video Matthew! but for me, its a bit to big & expensive, i'll keep my 15 euro 30W philips set and my XB950BT ;P
Okay, here's the thing. All of those little things on the back that you pointed out? Remember those? Those are inputs. That means you can plug any hardware you have into those little ports and then you aren't using it as a Bluetooth speaker. It is not technically a "Bluetooth speaker" at all. It is a high fidelity speaker system with an optional Bluetooth input. It actually has an optical drive and component inputs, making it a high quality and versatile system. One point you missed was that ALL speakers need a break-in period. That one actually needs a 10 hour break in period before you will hear the way it is intended to sound.. Also, butyl is pronounced "byootil", not "buttil." Thanks for the video.
How does the quality compare to simply buying a $350 speaker set like the NS-PA40 from yamaha, and then getting a cheap Bluetooth enabled AV receiver (many for $100-150 offer bluetooth audio support), and using that for audio needs around the home?
Matthew this is 3rd time I saw this and very good Review made me laugh.I like it and it is very big almost like a piece of furniture Thanks for sharing 😂Deb
This one looks like a cool speaker. But I don't think it's suitable for my apartment living. I have a Klipsch KMC3 and I get noise complaints every time I use it. Nice video, didn't know the company that makes it is Canadian (unless they have the Canadian flag at the back to suck up to us Canadians, lol).
+Mo Dabbas if you get noise complaints with the kmc3 they'll evict you with the fi70 lol. Ya, I believe they're from Niagara. Love supporting Canadian tech.
That's how I added BT to my stereo, bedroom and bathroom speaker sets. This will work for any speaker set. I do micro soldering and PCB repairs build stuff out of scrap.
Stopped watching once you said BUD-AL rubber. I guess some might want to watch this for entertainment but for those looking for an informed opinion, you’re not the guy. If you’re going to put it in your script at least do some research. Gotta earn those views.
you CAN plug directly into the device using the audio jack or optical audio out..... bluetooth is ONE of the different inputs you can use.

Woofers, not "sub woofers".
It really looks impressive and must produce high-quality sound. Also, love that hole in the middle
I love holes in the middle too ! lol = ) Joking side, the sound is fantastic for a bluetooth speaker. Thanks for watching!

It has optical input. Will it sound good as a TV speaker for home theater?

I think you can stuff a tiny little old crt TV in the hole to make it look much cooler, and upgrade the TV sound quality in the meantime.
Cracked me up 😂! Awesome speaker with a sleek review! 👍🏼
haha glad you found it funny! Thanks Jazon!
When u said I have no idea wha that means 😂🖐 love the realness! Solid review
haha thanks TMO and for stopping by!
wow a huge speaker that has an alarm. I'm getting a new alarm clock guys 😁
haha that would be a nice jump out of bed!
Would make a nice nightstand. Can even put a couple of pairs of socks in the hole!
Great video man! Keep up the good work
Thanks Paxton! = )
Im so picky I love clarity good highs and mids not a base freak would this let me down.
How i can buy this speaker if i life in europe??
if you use the aux plug in do you still lose the sound quality as if you us Bluetooth?
well...aside from the mispronunciation of several terms, informative review.
Matthew this is 3rd time I saw this and very good Review made me laugh.I like it and it is very big almost like a piece of furniture Thanks for sharing 😂Deb
+Debra Dukes haha thanks Debra! Glad you found it funny : )
If i played music through an aux cord on this device would it sound better then playing it through the Bluetooth option?
How do I pair a replacement remote to my fluance fi70
Will this play from an Amazon dot using the aux cord?
From what I have read yes !!
Hey I had a quick question! If you use the aux cord input instead of bluetooth would it help to make up for the lacking highs?

Can u revew the Fluance db 10 pnty?
can anyone recommend a product that is on this level sonically but which can also play from source? is the 3.5mm jack availability the closest thing?
Good job with the review, very thorough! However, that black Ash though...😂
By the way, that's one big hole!
haha, thanks Ash!
whats a wifi speaker??
Is it better than Sony LBT
Flunce Fi70 or Marshall Woburn 2 advice?
I needa know this also
love ur videos ...
+m raheel qaisrani Thanks man! 🙌🙌
Does it have battery?
No
does it have a EQ setting?
No
Lol...no manual EQ settings...so the sound is set from the factory. Smh! I see that $500 doesn't stretch like it use to
The remote allows you to adjust the bass and treble..
Thanks
It sure is a beast, specially for $500. Hope you eventually got your head out, lol. ;)
haha I did, thanks Jay = )
Buy a $35 BT speaker and take it appart apply to any other speaker.
Ya you can just buy a chromecast audio and do that.. but i think for the size and what you're getting it's pretty good
That's how I added BT to my stereo, bedroom and bathroom speaker sets. This will work for any speaker set. I do micro soldering and PCB repairs build stuff out of scrap.
Buttle ?? beautul

If you don't know anything about audio gear, then why the fuck are you doing a review on it?!
Copy unbox therapy much??
Reviewing a speaker is copying someone!?
Matthew Moniz no I'm talking about the thumbnail but good video though
oh lol.. Thanks man, but how can you not stick your head in that hole? It just calls for it.
Matthew Moniz haha lol, i was thinking of getting one a few weeks back but now I'm sold, but are the poor highs a deal breaker
Matthew Moniz you should review more sound items, *cough one more e1001 triple driver cough* keep up the good work
