Jb weld makes black plastic bonder now. I just picked some up to fix my buddies sonicwake.
I haven’t even worked with boats for years, but I simply enjoy your innovation and watching a fellow at his craft. Yessirbuddy!!!
Great vid! Just grabbed one of these today! Gonna do this mod!
Heck yea Have fun! BG4L
Nice work as always! I just ordered my Jetstream. My wife is gonna flip when she sees a big box delivered on my porch. Gonna have to sell one or two of my boats cause space has become a problem. I'm going to do the same power trim mod, but I think I'll keep the reverse bucket just for the cool factor. I don't think the nozzle needs to go up as high as you have yours set on the full up position. I can't see ever needing that much up trim. Some clever grinding on the reverse nozzle to remove a little material might help reduce the thrust blockage when trimmed up. I also still think that turn fins might help the boat stay a little more planted while cornering. Turn fins really helped lock in my Tear Into jet boat before I retired it. Cheers!
Nice upgrade for the nozzle, I have thought about putting the 160amp esc from the BJ 42 into this boat and running 6s 😊. Thank you for your many wonderful ideas and builds.
I have the exact same idea.
Do you guys think I’d be able to run this in salt 💦 water , of course flush and coat with silicone oil ?
@@RcPlayer-tt2vw I don't see why not. Shouldn't affect plastic, as long as you oil and grease your steel parts they won't rust. Just gotta do extra maintenance. But this would be my first rc boat so I'm only speculating. Might want to ask an rc boat forum
@@RcPlayer-tt2vw Probably would not be a problem if you flush it out, since mine has sucked up small gravel from shallow fresh water rivers, I am planning on getting the stainless steel “billet” impeller and the optional screen.
@@scottdearmond5532 oh man , for me stainless going be ideal , just living on the water everything corrodes , have to cost everything with wd40 if you wanted it to last , I could easily go to freshwater but something about being able to rc in your yard I liked the jet boat because seemed like boat version of a basher but I see that’s why more for rivers all low end power . I figured get the jet boat upgrade the esc and I can use the 4s in my swamp boat , I have find a good airplane motor not sure can handle 4s and can’t really add any weight to those
Cool mod. It looks like with some slight clearancing of the rear deck. You could do some blending of the reverse bucket and trim channels and keep both.
Another awesome video, so helpful and you must be psychic
You're gonna have one heck of a roostertail. Nice work B. Video looks good, thanks for the effort
Can't wait!
Nice work! You got skills man, for sure.
I have a 40" Deep vee Donzi with a scale Bravo 3 counter rotating props set up as a Blackhawk drive. The drive has power tilt. I also have a 36" Scale SK Drag Boat with power cavitation plates.
Imagine a jet boat with a hydra castle and a 2028 1100kv motor!!!
I heard jet stream has an aluminum kit
Now that's what I'm talking about
Nice! I did the same as well. I also put in an Eco Power WP110S to give it a bit more speed too. Probably will have to do the 120 amp ESC upgrade next to get it running on 6S. Just got back from filming and editing a bashing video in the rapids. Sunk it and had to go for a swim 😬
Sounds great! Ironcladedout BG4L
Neat idea. I've been thinking about how trim tabs attached to something like an AR630 might work... I can't decided if it would bounce or actually keep the nose level in chop. I suppose it would depend on the size and weight of the boat.
Good job 👍👍
I’ve modded the crap outa mine. The steering nozzle will hit things. I like the transmitter enabled trim, however. That little servo will strip in a collision where there rear spins around and nozzle nails a rock. Like the mod, however ……..give us an update after some runs👍🏻
Will do, I haven't had any issues with mine yet? But I haven't hit rocks yet either. I'll keep you updated
Give that reverse bucket to Wilke in case he has to bail some water out great job on the VTS how about a duck dive
I was surprised how many upgrades are needed to get telemetry. Wish they had at least used a DSMR TX/RX in . Now I have to decide between the DX3+blu tooth module or the DX5 rugged.
Why won't a flysky gt5 work?
@@shawndockins4561 The flysky would work. I think you get more telemetry with the smart battery and ESC (temp, current, voltage, cycles, RPM, etc).
For all receivers the black lead wire always goes to the outer edge.
U didn't finish it all in one video and a test run ? 😮
Don't hit any rocks with this bad boy. They break like glass. Look cool scale though
This mod is cool but when you adjusted trim on this you need to adjusted the reverse bucket as well. If you trim up the bucket hits the transom and trim down the bucket covers the jet output hindering performance. So it's a cool mod but doesn't work well if you have the reverse bucket. The original jet boat had this as an option to put a servo in but it didn't have a reverse bucket. I thought about this when I ordered mine but now seeing this I won't be doing this mod.
I did adjust the end points on the aux1 reverse bucket, and it still gets blocked when it's at full up position.
@@IRONCLADRC Ok. But when you adjusted that trim up or down you need to adjusted the reverse bucket. You would have to reset endpoints every adjustment because it would change.
You guys think I can run this in salt water canal , i rc in my yard and borders a canal , everyone ask how come you don’t do boats lol salt water is tough on everything, I figured long as clean up well before putting it away it be fine either way I subbed to learn about boats some
so all that work you could of used the reverse bucket setup for your trim....lol
I could have but I still want the reverse option for later adventures
got to pick on ya to keep you going .LOL@@IRONCLADRC
