    Definitely usefull if youre in the beginning of a track and are struggling with adding into that idea and dont know or cant think of how to continue with it,this is a well explenation of how you can take one idea (chords and melody) and use the fundamentals of it to create other elements of the song such as the drop and drop melody.

    This is a great video for getting started with any idea that comes into mind really, even if you're a newbie or more advanced producer. In like four steps you already have like the whole base of the track in front of you, and also an idea of how the mix should sound according to breaks, drops, etc. Awesome stuff Alex, really inspiring! Thanks 😄

    Generally: don't bore your listeners with long melody notes (like verse style part) for too long, make them shorter and fast occuring to build up the musical tension. :)
    Nevertheless, thanks, it's good to see it on screen and know that it's a known technique. I've been doing similar things but it's nice feeling when bits of knowledge fall into their right places.

    Can you make a video explaining how Flume makes his drums pop out in the mix so much, like they're the center piece of his music but they don't drown out or take away from the harmonics of the chords/pads/bass. Anytime I try to do this, it just feels like the drums are too loud and they're taking away from the other music. I've tried all types of EQ, compression, etc.

    • @jonfrost7109
      @jonfrost7109 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jordan White Besides the stuff like making sure your kicks are in mono, try looking at the drums with a frequency analyzer like span. Once you identify the main frequencies of the drum sounds, go to the other instruments and slightly drop those frequencies in volume. Also i know flume offsets his drums from the grid a lot, so like his kicks/hats don’t hit exactly on the beat

    All in All a great vid. Thinking it's good for people who is starting up.
    Though I feel like I need to adress the fact that you refer the style to artists like Avicii and Kygo. Encourage people to create music in their own respective way. You won't get respected in this line of business by doing the same thing Kygo or Avicii did. They created their own style by making music their own way.
    Yes you can take a great deal of inspiration from certain artists. But there is a difference from taking a bit of inspiration, to create a track thinking "my favorite artist would do THIS".

    • @KaumoraMusicOfficial
      @KaumoraMusicOfficial 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Btw Alex. I don't hate on what you do.
      But I'd rather see you create a track using your own thoughts and methods, than hearing you say "what would Kygo do?".
      If you know what I mean?
