Petula Clark - La Plus Belle Histoire d'Amour (A Lifetime Of Love)

A few weeks ago I highlighted Petula Clark's little heard version of the Les Reed-Geoff Stephens number "A Lifetime of Love" [see • Petula Clark - A Lifet... ] and was delighted to learn from music producer, songwriter, sound engineer and project manager, David Hadzis, that she had also recorded a French version of the song.
Titled "La plus belle histoire d'amour", I very much prefer Pet's presentation and the sound of her vocal on this recording which provides her with ample opportunity to display both her softer and more powerful deliveries. The French lyrics were written by Franck Gérald who had previously handled Gallic adaptations of British hits for Petula.
Pet's performance makes this recording a worthy addition to the Les Reed song catalogue.
