The 5 duck opponent was the hardest I’ve laughed in a while
I've been getting some pretty consistent wins by sacrificing the first 2 rounds (sometimes even the 3rd) only rolling for ducks until I have 5 then praying I can roll the shop into a dog, dodo, swan but I'm sure you could switch any of those with whatever you like

I think because he had a big unit that could potentially last more than two hits which would be more more effective than a lv. 1 rooster

NL I just won a game of SAP because of horse, I'm a big believer of horse bad much like you, in my first shop I accidentally bought a horse so I sold everything and ran with no pets, I got scared that I'd get the dunce hat if I did that to restart though so I decided to play anyways. Lost that next round but round after 3 horses, I have to take them for the tier up, badger get which is fine, keep losing but keep getting horses, I'm at level 3 horse when I see bison, I start spamming food on bison, I lose till I'm at 1 HP and then I get penguin and level two dodo, my bison gets 50 ATK and like 25 health and melon thanks to turtle pill and I start winning untill I can't lose anymore, to finish it up I just got crab and had my penguin in front splash attacking, defeat both melon armours of the two Infront pets so bison can clean shop. So GG EZ Horse carried me to victory this one niche case where horse could be any other unit proves that you're bad and bald at the game.

You can't build around horse, but I have seen 10-win builds that included a big horse. I think most people use it for a couple of early wins and then shift to dog or dog then turkey, tbh. exchanging cricket for spider or ram along the way then picking up deer. Nothing but weenies is probably a guaranteed loss, but I have seen builds with a horse when I was sitting on nine wins, so ...
Badger is secretly cracked if you buff it's stats. Put the buffer unit that usually has low stats behind him so you don't really lose anything for him dying. You don't even need to level it's attack much since it does double triple of it's damage with the passive on level 2-3.
These builds might be entertaining, but notice that they don't win like 2 big meta does.

I actually get to 6 wins very consistently by putting a rat in front and a hedgehog with honey in the back. It's not something you can go the distance with, but it is very nice at the start, since the rat has really good stats for a tier 2 and the hedgehog gets to kill the dirty rat, while the bee is there to turn a draw into a win. It feels especially great when the dirty rat actually gets to Attack, but that happens rarely. At least it is no longer a liability.

I've been tinkering with the Gorilla recently to good success, and have been wanting to experiment with this badger/ rat/hedgehog stuff - and it all just clicked. Gorrila can have his coconut armor triggered for free on round start from a hedgehog. Time to get tinkering,

hey NL, blowfish has a nice synergy with hedgehog, you put 3 hogs and 2 blowfish, they all die to the first one, damage the blowfish and it snipes what lived on the other team
I actually think hedgehog should be great in first spot late game to bust scrops and watermelon armor.
