NL is the textbook definition of tunnel vision. He doesn't always give himself enough time each round to work out what he should do and the most efficient way to do it, but it's also why I love watching him.

The meta seems to be in favor of units that do things with either "Hurt" or "Unit in front attacks" since damage has been reduced on animals and items but health is untouched

Use the bird to buff your units to 4 attack then swap positions. Early on most units are generally 3 health or below
Clearly it's better to use the bird to buff the unit that already has enough attack to kill pretty much anything, and also has meat. /s
If I remember correctly, a SAP tournament winner explained the strategy with Bluebirds is to stack a long of attack in a single one (and then onto the next one) so that it can trade with anything. But Idk the specifics very well

What's someone's thoughts on making a hatching chick a tier 4 and making the level 2 give +3/3 instead? I feel like the level two is just barely missing the mark while the level three is super strong

idk man. Level 2 is just better monkey (old version of monkey, which was tier 4 I believe)
If you're trying fun builds I suggest building a squad out of 5 of the same unit. Such as 5 rabbits, 5 cats or 5 skunks.

Why does he always put meat on his strongest unit? If 8 attack is already one shotting everything, toss it on your weaker unit so that it also one shots stuff. Like a 19/9 and a 1/1 is way worse than a 14/9 and a 6/1 since 14 is already more hp than anything even has anyway.
Worst of all is skipping garlic in favor of meat on units that already have an HP deficit. The ladybug had like 7 more attack than it did HP at one point and he was still running meat on it instead of garlic.
Because old habits die hard with NL and once egg learns a new tec he runs with it till chat yells at him or till he ever so slowly becomes self aware. No flame tho cause he’s discovered some sicc tec in SAP that I wouldn’t have thought of

I don't know if the egg is still looking for challenge ideas, but I've been playing the under 25 stat point challenge. You cannot field a unit that has over 25 HP or ATK. It's interesting trying to find synergy outside of the scaling meta to get to 10 wins and it's great fun.
I accidentally did this with Hedgehog 1-up and Badger shenanigans. My units were ridiculously understatted but I kept running into summoning builds so I ended up winning at turn 16 or something
Something that I really like about an early level 2 bird is cycling who gets the buff in the early game. Truth is, getting a friend to 8 attack vs 6 is relatively rarely gonna come into play, or worse, 10 vs 8, but if all your weak support units that would otherwise just deal 1 damage and die can get a modicum of strength... then we have something

I’ve been having a lot of success with bird + rabbit. You get double scaling really quick which is nice especially if you get Caterpillar early.

I have no computer atm and I've been playing sap so much on my mobile. Sometimes when I watch a NL SAP video I start tapping my screen to make the game go faster but then I just end up fast forwarding 30-50 seconds
I personally think the Ladybug is the best tier 1 unit to keep for the endgame.
Easier level 3 and Cow/Squirell Combos make it a very reliable unit at least for my taste.
Meme Idea you need to try out, 5 dromedarys is like the old 5 duck meta but kinda better, you can just sell 1 off everytime you're gunna buy instead of being forced to buy the whole shop after you would sell all 5 ducks. Give it a try for content

Puppy can be bad, but I like to run two instead of combining. Then you get +4/+4 every round for only three gold
Is it just me or is the bird F tier past like round 3? Even if you have infinite attack on something, doesn't really matter when you have like 3 hp.
It's simultaneously cracked and also a noob trap. If you get a lot of birds early then leveling it up and keeping it around permanently has worked for me, but otherwise it's an early sell candidate. Mainly it needs Tropical Fish/Rabbit to sufficiently scale itself. Throw it in back with a honey and buff its HP as best you can, level 3 bird will usually reach 50 attack.
