That was indeed some old school USA chasing. And I've been watching those a long time too. Can't wait until your next US Storm Spotting, but oh so glad you can do what you love at home too!! Thanks for the awesome video. Weather, ....it's the coolest content ever!

I had watched all your US chases before this one, but never got to watch you chase in your homeland. I felt like I was in the passenger seat on this one. Very nice, keep them coming. Cheers from 🇨🇦

I'm near Liverpool in Sydney and I've been told we're in a "rain shadow". I dont know if this is truthful, I've never looked into it. But I watch the radar as storms approach and they seem to split and go around either side just as they reach my area, so I dont know if its confirmation bias or not. We rarely get big storms here, they usually blow over quick when we do. Feels like 1 in 50 gets to us. Makes me sad because I absolutely love them.
About 15-17ish years ago I remember so vividly a storm coming in from the east when I was living across the river from Holsworthy, the front was very long and very straight and flat and fast moving and rolling over itself. Trees uprooted, trees struck by lightning, screens ripped off the house, I dont recall if it had hail but it was very fast, very windy, had sideways rain and was gone as soon as it came. But far out it was amazing.
Only a handful in the last 25 years I remember, the good ones feel so infrequent.

I grew up in Casula and I definitely heard about that phenomenon (not sure if it was referred to then as a rain shadow, I've never heard the term before) because we used to get insane storms, while my friend near Liverpool always said "nah, we just got a bit of rain". We even had a few pretty catastrophic floods in Casula, but nothing in the Liverpool area.

Great seeing you storm chase near my area. I'm not far from Scone, in Mudgee & we copped some of this big storm here on Wednesday but luckily didn't get the hail. Stay safe & keep chasing those storms.

What was funny, the video that TH-cam queued to follow this stream for me, was Daniel chasing a tornado in the US. One moment he’s driving on the left side of the road, the next, he’s on the right.

“If that funnel was anything, it could be Tornadic.”
Yeah, I swear near the start of this video it was actually trying to birth a tornado - there was slight rotation exactly where it was trying to drop a funnel. So it very easily could have become Tornadic.
Unusual to see these types of supercells forming in January. Normally we get this September - October. 🤷‍♀️
Nice to see you back home. 😊 You really ought to do more of this at home alongside your American uploads.
    Cheers from Adelaide. 😉

I’m in CohunaVic on the edge of the Mallee… we are in an interesting spot where most of the storms track northwest to southeast and seem to slide north or south of us and we rarely get the full brunt of them. Makes for great storm watching out on the verandah…😊

One fact is I like America 🇺🇸 and have friends there but you need to get a life of positivity, you are putting your country down with your stupidity… Enjoy your day if that’s possible 👋🇦🇺

What are you driving when chasing in Australia, Daniel?
(Edit: as stated on your website, an Australian spec Toyota 2011 Rav4 Automatic / AWD? Or has this information been updated?)

Do storms move clockwise and to the south and west down under?🤔

    • @C21L01
      @C21L01 ปีที่แล้ว +1

In Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra and Hobart our weather tends to favour a West to East movement while Brisbane, Darwin, Carins, etc, it tends to move the exact opposite.
However, if you live in Adelaide and Melbourne, both of us tend to cop it from North and South as well from time to time. 🙄
Cyclones which hit the tropics of Northern Australia spin in a clockwise direction and the Tornadoes… yes TORNADOES spin in a anti clockwise direction.
