Daniel. A potential thing i would like to see you do if you ever get the chance. If you have a cb. Radio, and you know a tornado is approaching an interstate, turn to channel 19 and warn us truck drivers. We try to keep up with the weather but sometimes a little extra warning would be nice, and trust me we are listening. A storm chaser did this last year and saved my life.rain wrapped tornadoes are scary. I would have driven into it.

Thank you Daniel for showing this to the People how it really was. Your focused , precice spotting and repots gave the NWS , who was watching your Stream a Bonus they rapidly, gave a warning to people , at least a few minutes more to survive this Monster. You are have been an important part getting this warning out fast.
An intressthing Chase Day that turned into a Nightmare for the poor People of Matador,TX. The Storm evolved so rapidly , the CG barage and the RFD was so massive you could see it will go Tornadic in every Moment. One of this Livestreams i likely will never forget in my Life. This helpless Feeling of watch people lose they Life ,when a Rain wrapped Monster destroys everything and than Hail trys to smash you on top of it. Followed by more Tornadic Storms that cut you off from helping people.
Thanks to alle Helpers who have been there. And thinking about all who lost loved ones.

Should've been EF-4 but ended up as an EF-3. Guess full well built brick house just doesn't warrant an EF-4 level then?

    • @TheRivrPrncess
      @TheRivrPrncess ปีที่แล้ว +2

It does, but apparently the new rating requires that there is many well built structures that are destroyed and few that are not well built. This is what is wrong with the new rating system. It places too much emphasis on well built structures and put the damage indicators too high. And windspeed needs to be factored in more. It needs to be redone or the old scale reinstated with appropriate changes.

What an utterly terrifying and gripping storm chase this was. I applaud how you kept yourself centered and talked yourself into moving more cautiously, even though your adrenaline must have been going off the charts. I'm sure the people you helped were grateful, and this just shows how chasing is both gratifying and exciting, yet heartbreaking and saddening when you are faced with people having lost their lives or all their possessions. Great work.❤️

I decided to get a hotel in Amarillo and not risk driving g through any of this. After watching the radar I could have probably made it they without get a drop of rain on me, but seeing this makes me glad I played it safe.

Im absolutely terrified when watching things like Final Destination which cause me to panic but somehow I find these relaxing. Might be cause I know that tornados are not dangerous were I live only get rare ones In california which are no where close to me. I have to give people credit who live in the path of these and the devastation even tragedy it could leave behind. You guys are so strong and brave.

Matador is such a small place, the amount of damage, just what you saw in this one, was terrifying. That car/tractor/whatever was horrible, the power of these things. Thank you for not only chasing and showing it, but for the methodical and caring you show when it passes. Weird: the one thing I kept coming back to is how green it looks up there, so much rain this year. It's usually a yellow/brown color. Funny how your brain catches things.

Its easy to say more like Storm Chased than Chaser, however, without the options of decent roads, going forward is the only bet. Its not the first vid like this either, and, for it, I think your vids, "weather" intended or not, lends a view of the terror of those caught in the path, rather than the safer bet of hanging behind the rfd and driving to keep up at a safe distance.

I seen drone footage of where he was stopped at the crossroads and gas station. It was destroyed. It's best to go if you can't see these things. You can't run at the last minute when you aren't able to see it until the last 15-20 seconds. If it pops out of the rain running 40-60 miles an hour 1/4 mile away, that gives you 15-25 seconds.

At 11:17 you are sitting at an intersection with a gas station and an Alsups. Is that in Matador before the tornado hit? I recognize similar pictures of the aftemath and wondered if they were the same.

yes its in matador , looking back into the heart of the Monster

@@obsidianwing yep....he was out in front of it. He made a decision to head south, and that was a very critical moment because it kept him out of that tornado. It went right thru there. We drove thru that town two days after the storm. Both the convenience stores were still standing, but they both had damage. And right next to them, there were structures torn completely off the foundations.

Holy crap, I'm only a few minutes in, and it's crazy to be able to hear the low rumble of the tornado before we can even see it! I have my TV cranked up and I can almost feel it! Can't imagine how exciting and scary it must be to chase these monsters! If I lived in tornado alley, I would totally do one of those storm chase tours!

Did the people you rescued make it okay? That was chilling to watch, and I'm not sure I could have kept that kind of calm through the entire thing like you did. There definitely would have been some tears coming from me.😅 I love the footage you got, though. Amazing job!

The people he rescued were my in-laws. We were the first house it hit & they were the last house that got hit. We are all good & starting to rebuild!! We are amazed at how God hand His hands over our small town & kept so many safe!!!

People need to stop under rating this particular tornado. It was easily the strongest tornado the plains have seen in a very long time.
