Another of John Wyndham's very dark sci-fi stories, this one makes for an interesting counterpoint to The Midwich Cuckoos. Whereas Cuckoos depicted the fear of discovering aliens among your community, The Chrysalids depicts the horror of discovering that your community sees YOU as an alien. It's quite an impassioned story about bigotry and the backward urges of some societies when faced with the future, and it probably ties in quite nicely with Arthur C. Clarke's Childhood's End in certain espects - but its essential ideas will likely be familiar to fans of The X-Men too, even though Wyndham of course predates them...

The book of my childhood brought to life. I read this so many times growing up. I never knew it was adapted to audio. If only they could bring it to live action as well.

There is an American/ British film 2019 Jude law Meryl Streep to name a Few are in it ..haven't seen it myself yet .. 🤔 Never as Good as the Book although nowadays with the right actors and they can do everything digital could be really Good we will see
