Want to make your own Horse Fly Spray?
Today's handy hint is how to make horse fly spray. Fly spray for horses can be very costly, and as we all know we need to use a lot of it in the summer months.
What we're going to need today is some
    Citronella Oil
    Plain Malt Vinegar
    Disposable Gloves
    Spray Bottle
    Water
Always apply gloves when you're just going to be handling essential oils because you don't know if you're allergic to anything. Add a few drops into your waterbottle If you feel it's not enough you can just add a little bit more. Add plenty of vinegar. with about half the spray bottle of vinegar. Once you have done that, top it up to the top with some plain water.
Also do a test patch for your horse fly spray before spraying all over the horse. The best place to do a patch test on a horse is just on the breast, because if there is any swelling it just hangs down and it won't get in the way of anywhere. And you really only want to just apply very small amounts onto a little part of the area. You want to leave the horse fly repellent a good 24 hours to make sure there's no reaction there on your horse. If everything is well and there is no reaction and there's no swelling or rash, then you can just spray the horse fly spray all over, as so, in the summer months to protect them from the flies.
By the end of this video you would of learned how to make homemade fly spray for horses which you can use throughout the summer months. Just be sure to test out the horse fly spray when making a new batch as the concentrations used will be different
