Gan used to be an RAF refuelling station for flights to Singapore back in the 1970's. Landed there myself in 1969 - beautiful island. Nice to see it again.
Yeah I saw some really old leaflets in the airport saying it was exactly what you say! Runway now has been extended to more than 3000m! Thanks for the comments and keep watching my vids hehe ;)
I remember very well landing in Gan in 1973. We stepped off a RAF VC 10 at midnight local time, it was hot and humid but really special for a 13 year old. Brize Norton - Cyprus - Gan - Hong Kong, the Kowloon's Checkerbox approach too :-D I was hooked and I loved that VC 10.
i swear i have watched numerous videos , but this is really great the way you shot ! i hope you will put more video of the cockpit view when you approach its really fantastic !

I wonder why it had to be extended in the first place... I saw Air India One 747 land there in 2011.
They say they wanted an A330 with full load and fuel being able to take off mybe the Air India wasn't full... who knows!
