    *Fantastic news Bennett!* 😁👍 Glad to see that big block run! Sounds good as well and like you mentioned, hardly any smoke. Glad you're making progress my friend. Be safe and keep spinning those wrenches 🔧

    Nice to see you are making headway! That 454 will be a good scoot for the old IH.

    Could you please do some more Argo videos?
    You did an excellent job on those videos and there aren't many others on the net about them.
    Would sure appreciate it if you could show some more about your improvements and maybe some action footage?
    I subbed in anticipation!!!!! 🙂

      Funny you say that, I checked last night to see when the last time I made a video on my Argo was. I thought it was in the spring, but apparently it's been a year! I did have one filmed with quite a few upgrades, but was never happy with the video. I have another video filmed detailing how I built a second frame to support the body, so that's next. I'm also taking the engine out soon, it's in need of a rebuild, so that will also be a video soon. I've put a lot of hours on it this year, 55 in the last 6 weeks alone for deer hunting. It's a lot of maintenance, but it's worth it.

      @@RustRehab I have 2 parts machines which I am planning to build 1 running unit from. The frame and bottom body are from an old single cylinder 8x8 hd (all double chains) and the engine, upper body and roll cage are from the next model (same as yours) so the tech and improvement videos are very helpful to me.
      The tire upgrade is going to be necessary because that tire size is no longer available from anyone (as I'm sure you know!).
      We are in northern Saskatchewan where we have an abundance of swampy land and get LOTS of snow! The Argo will feel right at home! lol

    I have a 1953 R-170 I would l9ve to restore from the ground up, but have no idea what the cost would be. It has not ran since the very early 80's

    • @RustRehab
      @RustRehab  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's about the same as mine, I want to say it was last tagged in 81 before it spun a bearing. I haven't kept a detailed cost list, but it's not been too bad. They're such simple trucks, if you're not too bothered by making everything 100% original it can really be done on the cheap.

      @Rust Rehab Thanks for the reply back. My grampa bought the truck in 1979-1980! It was used on the farm here & there not to much. It has a 1980 license plate tag on the back. I can remeber being 13 yrs old & riding with my dad in the old girl here & there! It was parked over at our haystack yard barn for many many many yrs. My gramma let me have it round 15 yrs ago, & me & my dad was gonnuh do a restoration job on it but with me being gone all the time out trucking, I never had the time to do anything with it! We had plans to work on it & git the ole girl running again, fix it up here & there, paint it up in John Deere colors & run in local parades & things like that but I lost my dad to brain cancer in 2017 & I lost complete interest in it all together! Now I'm in the position of should I try to do anything with it or just sell it. It's in purty decent shape over all to be honest with ya! it has the 2-speed split rear end!

      @@truckerray7533 that's awesome, sounds like it's been in your family for quite a while. I'd hold onto it and restore it myself, but I'm also the sentimental type when it comes to vehicles, especially family members vehicles. Mine also has the 2 speed rear end, I don't imangine the motor works anymore so I'll probably lock mine into high

      @Rust Rehab I know whatchya mean & feel about "sentimental value vehicles" for sure👍🏻! I sure was looking forward to dad & I start the project together & what we'ld do & stuff like that, but as I mention earlier. . . when dad passed away I just immediately lost interest in it all together. The truck is painted white color but alot.of the paint has been faded & so now orange primer shows up all over the place! I visioned it repainted all white with yellow & green John deer stripes down the sides if the body & John Deere sticker on the doors & yellow wheels. . . . .or Green body & yellow stripe down the sides. . . . i dunno!
      Ive tried to sell it several different times( $500) but just can't seem to git rid of the ole truck. . . . . . .maybe there's a reason for that eh??? Do me a favor if ya would please. . . . ??? Keep me posted on your restoration project of your R-170 & the cost! Nice visiting with ya😃🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

      @@truckerray7533 Absolutely, will do! I hope to have it mostly ready for the road by fall, and road legal next summer. I've got a few videos of it on my channel, but I'll try to remember to give you a shout when its all done with my final cost estimate. Good luck with yours!

    • @RustRehab
      @RustRehab  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a 55 haha how in the world i managed to call it a 56 is beyond me. I've done that a few times now, I don't know why that number is stuck in my head
