Plus I’m glad you pointed that spring out too because I was afraid my 7.3 idi was gonna be too heavy for the front suspension. I noticed the frame isn’t beefed up. Have you considered the torque twisting the frame or are you not worried?
No too worried, these frames are pretty stout and if we end up with issues we can always box the frame and add more bracing but as of right now I don’t think it will be an issue.
Only advice is take your time on wiring, it’s easy to screw up with things like these and you’ll be scratching your head for hours trying to figure it out why it won’t start or run right on shift properly
The diesel is cooler than an ls. Everyone does the ls swap in to everything. It's too bad you can't use the manual transmission, but it makes sense to use the auto
Hey I want to do a 24 valve cab swap with a 52 Ford F8 I was wanting to keep the original cluster and I was wondering on the 54 f1 that you did what did you do for the speedo? I enjoyed the video
I’m so sick of everyone cramming LS in everything so more power to you guys on a Cummins. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Also on a side note the 63 Impala needs to stay a 4 speed. How do o contact you guys?
Hey I’m wanting to do this I’ve got 63 unibody Ford f100 with the crown Vic front suspension like yours does the front suspension hold up that much wait good? Thank you
Joseph Hummel yes the front supports the weight just fine, the suspension actually compressed less with this engine/ body than it did in the original car
Joseph Hummel as for the rear it’s hold up just fine with the diesel for quite some time, usually you break them with high traction and this truck is so light I don’t see it being an issue, I’ve run 10 bolt chevys behind 12v’s and not broken one yet
Diesel all the way. I’m glad I found you guys cause I was gonna diesel swap my 53 and y’all are showing me everything I’d have to do
Fits real good surprisingly

I’m just starting a 12V swap into a 53 F500. Which rack and pinion are you using? Has it performed good and held up with the weight of the Cummins?
Pretty cool
love the build this is the exact swap that I was going to be doing in my chopped 54 F-100 any advice for getting it done

Is the original frame still under that truck body?

We used phone app for speedometer
The LS y’all pulled out should go in the Fugly painted Ford 4-door back there, would probably sell for more. Just found your channel so catching up.

Yeah it worked very well, with the factory Vic spring it rode like a Vic and handled great
Thank you I was worried about weight because those dodge front ends wore out do to weight
Will ford 60 diesel fit in 1956 Ford f100
Not without HEAVY modifications
Cummins
Good
12 v all day
What frame is that ford riding on?
Factory 54 truck frame, has a crown vic stub and rear
Is that CV front end going to handle the weight of that Cummins? Also, is that CV rear going to handle the torque?

Is that my imagination
You have a cavern to work under that Ford floor board? Never seen so much room….
It was notched out for Bog block already. Worked great in our favor for the Cummins!
12v way easier
