    You don't need to hammer anything or use a rag or wrenches - the bar weights are held in with a spring clip with a release tang at the end of the bars (one above and one below) - you simply put the tip of a flat-blade screwdriver into the gap between the end of the bar and tang, push and twist - and it releases the spring clip pin from the holes in the bar, and you just slide the weight out.

      You are correct, but if you have heated grips fitted you can’t roll back the glued grips to expose the lugs so this method is helpful in that situation if you are planning to fit Handguard.

      @@UKbiker73 you shouldn't need to roll the grips back unless you want to poke something though the holes in the bars to release the pins - the tangs are at the end of the handlebar, and you can just put the tip of a flat-blade screwdriver between the tang and the end of the handlebar, push down and twist.

    Thank you. Was skeptical to remove the stock bar ends because If I screwed it up, I was going to have to haul the bike to the workshop so I could get it fixed. With your method it was easy peazy!

    Thank you,Sir! The best way to remove the whole thing, only took me 5 mins to remove them. My bike is cbr650r, so I guess this method good for all Honda bike.

    Those are big internal weights... how is handlebar vibration with the weights off and the handguards on?

    This is a clever technique, I like it! I'll be fitting hand guards on my CB500F over on my channel soon, I'll give this technique a try. Thanks for posting!

    Before the gentle hammering, did you unscrew a little to give some space for "iron thing"?? Thx

      @shiftupadventure  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, no, no need. Pull ends out slightly with hands by rolling, just enough so you can place the wrench inside. 👋👍

    Another solution is to remove screw, and use "half round nose pliers", to press pin one then pin two. It only needs to go under the rubber for like 2cm. Then it will go out smooth.

    • @shiftupadventure
      @shiftupadventure  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool, yes that's what's holding them inside 👍

    Hello, how much more vibration did you feel after you removed the in bar weight?

    • @shiftupadventure
      @shiftupadventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No noticeable difference (I do have grip puppies to reduce vibrations) 👍

    Took it off very easy with your way. Thanks.
    My rubber is lost deep inside the bar. Any tips on fishing it out? My longest screwdriver can’t even reach it.

    • @shiftupadventure
      @shiftupadventure  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, happened to me too, I think we pulled it out too fast. I was able to get it out with thin metal wire. Goes easily out once you lock it.

      @@TraceurTube CB500F, it was a mission to get them off. Theres a pin that you need to push in and also on throttle side you need to disassemble everything and be careful not to break the plastic sleeve under the rubber.
