On the clutch side you need the 20mm extension on the inner rod to allow more room for the clutch lever. That way you won't have to slant the handguard down to allow clearance.
Excellent video on the barkbuster install. The 2022 reguires a spacer and longer bolt. Also need to split the throttle module to get to the clips on the OEM weights. Great job thanks for your help!
It is the straight version. It works pretty well I would say, but I don't know if the curved version is better or not. It would be interesting to compare the two !
I ordered the tapered ones for my 2023 model from Fortnine. The latest design is a bit different, specifically where it attaches to the clamps. Went on reasonably easy. Thanks again for the video.
Thank you for the video. I’ve been thinking about getting one of these bikes what kind of windscreen is that?.You could’ve should’ve would’ve put in some hundred percent silicone from the caulking gun in the handlebars I did that to an old 70s bike it makes a heck of a difference
The windscreen is an extended aftermarket one from Puig, I have à video talking about it ;) I didn't have any extra silicone but I'll think about it if I ever take it apart one day !
Thanks for the video, Jérôme. I have a 2022 CB500X with the same Puig screen than yours. I'm thinking on getting the Barkbusters handguards. Does the metal part of the handguards touch the Puig screen when you lock the handlebar? Also, did you consider VPS instead of Storm? I doubt between both... Merci!
Hi Jose, for me, the only part of the handguard that touches the bike is the left side on the fuel tank, but that can easily be adjusted. It does not touch the windscreen even when I fully steer the handlebar. For the plastic part of the handguard, I think that the VPS is fine, I just preferred the Storm because it seemed to cover a bit more area, which protects my hands a little bit more. I think both are good so I'd say, go with whichever you prefer 😉
Ok you make life too difficult for yourself. Simply leave the inner weights inside and go get a M6 60 countersunk screw to fit the stock inner weight. Then using the new screw, the guard and the weight and single spacer the job is done in 1 minute. Don't over think this simple installation.

is this part given in the hardware kit?
I don't recall seeing the extension in the kit, but maybe I just missed it.
this must one of the best video editing ive seen !!!!
a ''work of art ''
greetings from greece
Great video and the music
Great instructions and what song is that your playing on your ride?
Very good video, thank you!
Good video. Very clear and understandable
@Jérôme Tabeaud: Great video!
Are the Barkbusters hanguards touching the Puig wind screen?
No, they are not touching any part of the bike, if they are adjusted properly.
Well done!
What made you decide to install the barkbusters in the middle of the countryside?
Thank you for including the part number! I've been trying to get that number for a while, and just placed my order.
Do you still have the part number from this video?
@@tstockton2083 he has them down in the description of the video.

So I need to get the 2022 specific model from bark busters?
@@iz723 Same question here. This needs to be updated for the 2022 model.
Very helpfull video. thank you and well done. Can anyone tell me what is the spacer and longer bolt part number?? does it exist?? my bike is a 2023.
10mm Spacer & Bolt (Code B-078)
Nice video. You should have bought the black painted frames.
I didn't even know that they made all black frames as well. It would look cleaner for sure !
Merci beaucoup l'Ami !
Great explanation. Did you get the tapered or straight version?
It is the straight version. It works pretty well I would say, but I don't know if the curved version is better or not. It would be interesting to compare the two !

Hi! This handguard touches the windshield?
that is also my question
And mine too
No, when it's adjusted properly, it does not touch the screen nor the tank.
Does the handlebar vibrate more after the install? Thanks
Not at all, because the bar weights that we remove are "replaced" by the added weight of the handguards themselves, so no real difference can be felt.
Bonjour. Sympa ta vidéo, tu m'as convaincu ! Es-tu arrivé à faire en sorte que des Barkbusters ne touchent pas ton réservoir ?

Did you need to use the 10mm spacer?
I don't really remember. I just followed the instructions that are packed with the handguards.
Bonjour, merci pour la video. Tu les as trouvés où ?
Je ne me rappelle plus de quel site internet il s'agissait, mais en cherchant un peu tu devrais retrouver ;)

What year is your CB500x?
It's a 2020 model.
Wrong, you missing the 20mm spacer for the clutch side that is why is awkward..
I wonder if the 2023 model needs this as I have bought barkbusters specific to that model
