I used to jump on the MT-01 at 6AM on a sunny day and put 900-1100 ks on it. Just sitting at speeds where the cops won't bother you, stopping only for fuel and a swig of water. 12 or 13 hour days criss-crossing the South Island. It just feels good to get out on a bike. Enjoy it while you can guys, it's not going to last forever.

Will pack the bike with lunch and decent coffee. Will go and have a decent day out riding (3-500km) typically on and around the back roads taking the time to stop and enjoy being in the middle of no where whilst enjoying a decent coffee, the view, the sounds and the smells, absolutely love it. Always clears the head with down time as well as the usual reflections. One observation, always impresses me, no matter whre ya park up, other riders float by waving or stop for a quick chat. Riders...... good buggers at heart. BTW that trumpy is a fab looking machine, the more I see them out n about the more i likey likey, cheers.

I like to get out for a day every month at least, either a longer tarmac ride (like 500km+) or string together a bunch of gravel roads. I find that I'm actually happier for a few days after something like that. I used to commute to work which could be fun in its own right bombing through traffic but I've been working from home for the last three years so over winter the bike doesn't see much use, so getting out once a month even if it's a bit damp is very therapeutic.
