Jail people for property crime. The police should support the citizens who are forced to defend their property or their safety.

I find police in Western Canada don't care about property crime, and I've experienced calling police when I was attacked in my car and they refused to offer assistance when I dialed 911. It was a horrible late Fall night with heavy wind and rain, and they just didn't want to come out ! 😳. Finally I drove to the police station with my busted out window and reported I was attacked and the lazy assed cop didn't even want to take pictures or fill out a report ! 👀. I wasn't even offered an incident report number until I asked for one. 💁The local detachments in The West have become so bureaucratic and politicised they can't function. Talking to your local detachment is like dealing with politicians. It sucks and it's nearly useless.👎🏻

Mar 3, 2021 - B.C.’s minister of housing is vowing to fight Penticton city council after members rejected a BC Housing application on Tuesday to keep what was supposed to be a temporary homeless shelter, open through the year. Eby is to blame for the mess we're in here. Most addicts here, werent even brought up here. They came from all other cities and provinces. Not only that but the province went and bought up 4 motels here, just to have a place for even more junkies all over canada to come set up criminal shop here. It's gonna get so much worse when those motels are renovated. The cops don't do diddly squat about about them because we have wimpy, overly excessive bleeding heart judges that keep believing these addicts promises of getting clean and letting them go day after day. So daft the judges be. Penticton was awesome when I bought in, in 98, but it's a frickin cesspool of gross junkie criminals now. There's an island here in canada that's free to move to. Send them all there and let them figure out how to make their own community. 😠

@Mike T I'm pretty sure our Mayor was trying to drive them out by closing the shelter and he will not tolerate or allow tent encampments either, but you know...we get the parents of and overly sympathetic who havent yet been victims of junkies crimes all crying the the blues
and causing massive out cries of cruelty against these poor babies who just couldn't say NO after doing drugs a few times and that they're only the victims of drug dealers or aggressive bfs or gfs that got them started, blah blah whine the blues, yet all these people pretty much do nothing to help them get clean OR worse, the families stupidly or happily enable them, then have the audacity to take to the news all furious af when a person overdoses and dies. I'm 100% with our Mayor since I know he as well as 3/4 of the city really want them the fk outta here. I'm only about 1 of 5 people that are outspoken, unsympathetic and celebrate the news of each od that happens. One day my place will probably get burnt down over my intolerance to junkies, but I will never stfu about my loathing of them. Yes, I also talk too much.

@Mike T I realize that now. However, It really doesn't matter who gets elected in since they're all flakes who spend taxpayer money on ALL the wrong things and blatantly disregard the taxpayers voices, no matter who gets the voted in.

I'm almost at a point of not wanting to vote anymore since I always pick the wrong ones who REALLY seemed right at the time. NOPE! Thanks, I'll read up on them.

I know, and now Eby is going to be the premier?! That homeless shelter was right beside a relative's apartment. They were seniors, and that is what they had to deal with. People shooting up, selling drugs, sleeping on their property. It was awful, they were scared. It also brought the property value down. Do you think Eby cared?! There are more shootings happening in Penticton, it's crazy, and very sad. I don't have the answers to the problems, but what they are doing is NOT working.

@@PaNic99 The owner of the whitespot was in the news last year I think it was. There's a shelter next door to the restaurant. He said he had to go out every morning to clean up their feces and needles in the garden, or whatever area they called it. I was sickened to hear that. They have some kind of shelter on my end of city now (south end). These losers creep around here in all black clothing with black backpacks and I've seen some of them with boltcutters hanging off the bike. I've lived here since 1998 and have never had a problem with the junkies until the shelter went in a few blocks from me. I now sleep in the day mostly, and stay up at night so I can scare these scumbags away. I hate penticton so much now 😕

Something I forgot to mention. I made a post in a fb group about 6 months ago that got me reported and I got banned...which turned out to be the best thing since I don't have to argue with whiners on there anymore. Best move I ever made was removing fb from my computer. My comment was: The best thing the province could do for addicts is to bring back work camps ( not, abusive slave driven ones), but camps that do have forced rehabilitation and having them work in much needed sectors, such as forest cleanup to help prevent massive wildfires, city jobs for helping doing roadwork repairs, cleaning up cities of gross graffiti everywhere, maintaining provincial parks and all the while cleaning them to get them back into working society and off welfare. --That got me banned as (abusive hate speech) but not before "mostly people my age, late 50s completely agreed, yet everyone under 50 called me cruel and abusive. That was the day I lost all hope for a better future. Passive bleeding hearts like David Eby, are going to let junkies control canada in no time.

@@JacquelineWachell this is why we either need to just let them weed themselves out by overdose or be forced into rehabs that are like prisons but perhaps nicer rooms, meals, tvs/internet, large outdoor space for activities, Educational growth programs, along with work programs (okay that sounded too nice)....But completely unescapeable and heavily guarded when working outside of rehab. The law also needs to come down with a Thor hammer on dealers with extreme American like prison sentences since every dealer has most likely at least one death caused their drugs. Since junkies are of no use to society if they refuse to be helped, they don't deserve to be in society...Overdose, long prison terms or rehab, otherwise why even be on earth other than to be a major financial burden to all the people they rip off. We could definitely use the "right to arm, kill in self defense" American law here now, as well as take em out if they attempt to steal your property, on your property.

We can't only rely on police, we should get to know our neighbors, the people on our street, and have their phone numbers, remember Neighborhood Watch? We had the same problem in Tsawwassen for years. Break ins , mostly car break ins , but with a few well placed wireless cameras and communication between neighbors , plus it's good to know what your neighbors kids look like, two healthy adults is the best deterrent for street urchins. If not call the police.

  • @canadianbc7789
    @canadianbc7789 ปีที่แล้ว +4

It's true that there are authority to deal with the problem.
Another fact is that authority don't do the job. Penticton needs a broom to clean All that ballasts.
Reform the entire system there, fire all unfit employees and hire people who know how to do the job and who want to do the job. Simple.
With the same employees will be the same.
If you need to confront thiefs to return anything you own, fight to save your property. Why do you even need the police for? To document the crime?!

As an individual retired and disabled chased out of staying in penticton in my trailer by citizens patrol with severe prejudice harassing the good people who come to stay and vacation, you lost a licensed teacher up most of the night that looks out for people who commit crimes and calls the police or says something. I'm not the only person bullied out of penticton within minutes of shopping in pentixton jus because residents don't like how my trailer looks.
The lesson is, you bully everyone you donylike how they look, the lose respect for you and treat penticton bad and you lose all the good, younger people wo are an earshot away while older 50+ seniors are sleeping, or they leave town completely being chased around parking lots for no reason and the people who are committing crimes go unnoticed to citizens patrol groups in groups hassling anyone in a Van or trailer.
You've lost good people who have gone t o oliver or osoyoos because of the immediate harrassment.
The studies emphasize a city with diversity thrives. And contrary to the belief harassing anyone you see won't break the law. The Vigilantes who harass everyone the don't like how the look stalking in penticton creates animosity and disrespect
I've been followed to 6 locations repeatedly in penticton after coming in spotters saying when someone is driving to penticton from petro Canada
Anyone can test this harrassment. Drive a van from the 90s wear relaxed clothes, have fun, go to a garbage can or rest area or at parking lot for over 15 minutes.
It's against the law to stalk and be prejudice to anyone you don't like how the want to look or wha they want to own.
That bullying brings an atmosphere of distrust, disrespect from anyone in pentixton, bias, and prejudice and then someone is supposed to respect penticton and people there?
    It's not healthy.
There's a reason crime rates in Vancouver are lower than Abbotsford and other interior communities and its not from patrolling wit prejudice stalking people.
People get to know people. They say hello and have conversations with people and that respect creates respect in return.

That responsibility lies with the Provincial government and until there is a provincial government that will place the mentally ill and drug addicts into conservatorship and treatment and use the full power of the attorney general's office to enforce the laws on those with enough cognitive function to know right from wrong nothing will change.

I highly recommend everyone read Blackstone's commentaries on English Law in particular the absolute rights of the individual! In regards to the fall lawfully from mankind to humankind when you submit to the corporate public services rather than taking care of your registration and banking options through the legislative Acts for yourself. I would read the foundational documents of the country and the judicature act that states you can move all matters to English law at anytime!
Write to the Attorney general in regards to the lack of values service that is being paid for our of everyone's public financial security you have never read in the security act and the ppsa to know you have! It's all a scam for profits if you chose to live under the monarch!
