- Yes, we switched our math curriculum in our homeschool...again. We made the switch at the beginning of our school year and now that we are almost one full year through, I want to share our experience with you all! I hope you find it helpful and encouraging,

My 7th grade daughter was REALLY struggling in math a few months ago. I desperately started searching for something that would work for her. We had tried 4 different math curriculums and then I stumbled upon your Denison video awhile back. We bought it and we are LOVING it! I am so thankful we came across your video. I plan to have my other kiddos use it as soon as they are old enough. Thank you for sharing!! What a life saver!!
My son is in 7th this year and when you mentioned Denison at the beginning of the year I had to check it out!!! This boy has struggled with math so hard since the beginning (brick and mortar) and he is now in love with math!!! He LOVeS it!!! I never have to ask him to do his work! And he hasn’t received a test score less than 75%….most are 85%-100%….and completely hands off for this mama!!
This is my first year homeschooling. When I saw your video about denison math, I immediately went online and bought the first set. My 7th grader is almost done with this year, and ohhhh myyy!!! He is thriving in math! He looks forward to it and has even expressed to me that he can not believe he can do this math. As a mom, this made my heart feel whole. I will never ever ever use any other math curriculum ever again! My once struggling (on top of having dyslexia) learner now has excitement and happiness towards learning. I wish I could write to the owner and truly thank him! But thank you for sharing bc without your video, I would have never known, so thank you soooo much!

I didn't use Denison from the start because I was told it was for non mathy kids who needed extra help...wrong!!! I started algebra 1 with a different curriculum for my oldest, by Christmas he was doing Denison and we LOVE it!!! It's for ALL students. Start with it, don't make the same mistake I did and waste money on something else, just start with Denison. 😊
SAME! My son is finishing his first year doing Pre Algebra. He's gotten 💯% on every test! This program is amazing! Life changing for our family as well. Math used to be a struggle, tears every day, dread, and hatred towards it. Now it's a DREAM he actually enjoys it, understands it, and loves Mr Denison! He'll be doing algebra 1 next year for 8th grade, and my daughter is so excited to do Pre Algebra for 7th, she is so jealous of her brothers Math curriculum, she is currently using TT and doesn't like it.
If anyone is on the fence, just buy it! You will not regret it! ❤️

When we decided to homeschool, my biggest concern was algebra, geometry, trigonometry, etc. Even though my grandson is only 6, that’s been my biggest concern.
So thankful you have used this curriculum and it’s proven to be tried and true!

I switched to Denison because of you and even though I’m in Canada and the duty fees were outrageous it was WORTH it! My kids are all thriving and my daughter tells me she LiKeS math!!!
My tenth grader is doing really well with Denison. He doesn't complain about doing his lessons and he says that he actually understands the geometry. So grateful! We don't want our kids to just take a class to check a box and not gain any knowledge from the class. We love when they grasp concepts that will help them in the future. Many trades require understanding of geometry. Glad we found Denison!

We tried Denison this school year for my oldest. We struggled through algebra 1 with two other programs. 9th grade was rough mostly because of math. This year we switched to Denison for Geometry. Such a life changer. I don’t say that lightly. We no longer dread math. I can’t wait for my middle child to hit pre algebra to switch to Denison. It will be Denison for all my kids from here on out 💃🏻
I 100% agree!! My son uses the Success program from Denison due to severe ADHD and it has been a 100% game changer.
My daughter is good at math but has hated it since the beginning. We tried several math programs and each one she just didn't like. I came to terms it is not her thing regardless of curriculum. We started Pre Algebra through Denison in Feb after finishing Learn Math Fast Book 2, after your videos. It is going well. She has gotten 100 percent in all tests and has told me she is actually understanding some things she didn't quite get before (integers). I don't think she will ever love math but she did tell me this math doesn't math her sweat lol so that's a win!

Agreed my Freshman is almost done with Algebra 1 & our Sophomore Geometry. Heaven sent !! Answer to my prayer best Math program ! Wish they had younger years also.
Switching to Denison was life changing for our family. I just wish they made earlier math curriculum also!
We love Denison! We are almost done with Denison Pre Algebra. I just bought Denison Algebra 1 and I get it next week. We plan to use it for the rest of their high school. Waiting for the Trig to come out!
Denison math has been an answer to prayer in our homeschool this year! My 7th grader is doing amazing in the Pre-Algebra course and my 9th grader loves math now! She is taking the Algebra 1 course. They love Denison math. We are looking forward to continuing with this program!
I relate so much to your thoughts on Denison! I also have 3 boys and have homeschooled for 13+ years. We have tried so many math curriculums- my youngest 2 are in Denison programs. It has changed our math experience. Denison is clarity for my boys. Thank you for sharing it. 💕
I switched child 2 to Dennison Geometry after trying another D curriculum for about 6 weeks. There were tears in our house everyday over math. Math went from being the last most dreaded subject to the first thing child 2 does everyday. It’s more than a hit, child 2 loves it! “Mom, he just explains things in a way I understand.” If you are struggling with math or your child doesn’t like math, try Dennison. So thankful we did!

I agree! We LOVE it too! Homeschooling almost 9 years and my 7th grader is loving it. Yesterday we had a day off from school but in the evening when we got home he independently got it out because he didn’t want to miss a day and truly loves learning math now. It’s been amazing!
I looked into it after watching one of your videos and we switched when it was time for Algebra. When I say it changed our lives, I seriously mean it! We loved it!

I was waiting for this update, so thank you so much. My oldest starts HS next school year. I am doing learn math fast to fill in the missing pieces and then I am going to do Denison Math for Algebra 1 and 2 and Geometry.

Yes!! It’s been a total game changer!!! We will absolutely be sticking with it! It is a little on the spendy side but totally worth every penny!
We started using Denison when you had first talked about it and it has been amazing!!! My daughter says she understands now.
We just switched over on our first week of it after trying multiple curriculums like you and OMG I can’t believe the difference in just this week!!! She’s actually excited to do math! This video just reassured me I did the right thing, I was nervous about switching over so late in the year.

I wish I had known about Dennison years ago for our oldest son. I think it would’ve been such a great fit for him.
I was strongly considering it and praying about it for my next two kids, but after emailing back and forth extensively with the author, he repeatedly told me not to use it for any of my children who are naturally strong math students or those who already excel in math. I was so bummed! I really wanted to use it with our younger son, but he is a couple of years ahead in math.
The author told me to only use it with our children who struggle in math, those who are non-math-lovers, or are “so-so” in math.
I have a younger child who may use his products in the future. I am so thankful he has prepared these courses and I share with everyone about his math. Hopefully they can avoid math experiences like our oldest had! ❤
Thank you for sharing! My oldest isn't one who necessarily struggles with math but he is doing so well and grasping SO much goodness from the program! I'm so glad we went this route because he is actually grasping the concepts instead of just moving on and cramming. So, so grateful! 🙏❤️

My 9th grader just completed his pre-algebra exam with Denison. I actually made him do both A&B exams. I wanted him to try to do it without the access to BHAC pages and he got a 78% and then he got a 96% with the BHAC. I’m not really sure how to score him. This is confusing. Has anyone else struggled with this? Maybe I’m just being uptight but that’s a big difference.

What math program do you recommend for 5th and 6th grade before 7th Denison pre-algebra? I currently have Teaching Textbooks disks, Math U See, and Life of Fred on hand, all passed down from my older kiddos.
I am going to go ahead and start pre algebra for my 6th grader this year and take it slow. She is an early September birthday so she's an older 6th grader but we need the review on the fractions and decimals. My 8th grader will be doing algebra 1 this year and Denison was so amazing we can't wait another year for my second to start. I wish he would make a 6th grade program for just solidifying all the elementary concepts!
I have been thinking about homeschooling my son next year, you kinda touched on it, my son is on Saxon math in his elementary school, my question is, he struggles with the word math, it just doesn’t click with him, did you find a math program that was easier for a child that struggles with words?
What would you suggest for a struggling 6th grader for (2024-2025). She has ADHD and dyslexia. We have been doing TGTB since kindergarten and it’s been great! But this past year was really rough for her. And for me. I think she needs more simple black and white paper and more mastery of concepts…

Hi! Thank you for responding. :) I guess my question is… Denison pre-algebra says 7-8th grade… and she’ll be in 6th. Should she do pre-algebra next year you think? Or do you know of a better transitional curriculum for 6th grade before doing pre algebra in 7th grade.
She really needs a change. Less spiral learning and more just the ONE thing at a time. Thanks for your input!
thank you for the review ! I am considering trying this with my upcoming 8th grader this fall. Of all the math programs you’ve used, which one would you recommend for 7th grade since Denison doesn’t have that level?
I’m trying to answer this question myself and here’s my conclusion: my upcoming 7th grader is going to start Denison Pre Algebra this year. Mr. Denison states that a student only needs to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in order to start his pre algebra. So even if she takes 2 years to complete it I feel like it will be a better option than struggling through another curriculum while we wait to start Denison. Not to mention a waste of money. I hope this is helpful! If you don’t want to go that route you might try Thinkwell Math for 7th or Mr. D’s math pre pre algebra
My daughter does CTC Math. Do you think that it will be enough for the elementary stage and then switch over to Denison for pre-algebra?
What do parents do for 12th grade if you start in 7th? Im contemplating starting my daughter in this for 7th grade bc she hates math and its been a struggle from the beginning. We will personally do a business math of some sort. But, that's just us and also setting my kids up for what they are looking to do once they graduate. 🙂
I plan to do a math that teaches budgeting, taxes and finance for 12th grade. Probably Dave Ramseys financial peace university program. 😊
Denison has a High School planner resource on their website that shows numerous routes depending on your student's goals. It helped me so much

Do you, or anyone else know how Denison compares to Mr D Math? We've been using Mr D for the last few years , and it's been fine, but there are a few small things I would change if I could. Thanks!

We just switched my oldest from Mr. D to Denison. Both are mastery based, which I prefer for kids who struggle with math. For us the success with Mr. D was highly dependent on the teacher, the last teacher was a not so great fit and that really soured things. I also did not care for the printing the worksheets every week and having my oldest keep track of them. She hated all of the notes and the length of the lessons too.
so it's not auto graded? thats the one thing i'm nervious for starting highschool. keeping grades and records of any kind is not my gifting 😆
It is not auto graded. He wants the kids to check their own work! Grading and records aren't mine either. But they have sheets for grading (and a grade book as well as lessons showing the problem worked out and how to solve) that make it so easy!
We love 💕 love 💗 love 💕 Denison Math!! I believe we heard you talk about it last year when you started & we did geometry 📐 this year and my son is loving it!
