This video came at such a perfect time for me as I have been stressing for 2 months over a writing program for my son and waffling between IEW, EIW and others - but they look so overwhelming! Thank you!!!
Thank you for this video. I’ve been wanting to do IEW but overwhelms me whenever I look into it 😆 I also needed to find something more friendly to my budget.
Thank you for sharing this! We started our homeschool year for my 6th and 7th graders. They do not enjoy writing and I have been contemplating EIW, but the price tag (in consideration of what I've already spent on other curriculum) is a concern. I've loved many of your other recommendations and this seems like a great fit and a perfect price point! Thank you!
I really appreciate this overview. I have been considering IEW for writing but I don't want to spend any more money than necessary to get the job done.
Thank you for the review. I believe 99.9% that I will do these 2 this upcoming year. All writing curriculums are expensive and I don't get them and if I don't get them my students too. So Thank you again for this amazing review.
We used The Good and The Beautiful level 7 last year for 7th grade and were at a total loss on what today for 8th grade. This video could not have come at a more perfect time! I am ordering these ASAP!❤
Thank you so much! This video was very helpful. I looked into IEW I didn't think that was for me. I was going to purchase EIW but the program's $100 and then the grading send off is another $100, so it's a bit pricey. I wanted to see what else was out there before I purchased it. I think I'm going to give this a try first. Thanks so much!!
Have you done a video on what you do and don’t like about essentials in writing? Curious what parts of it you liked/didn’t like as I’m considering it for the future. Also, thank you for this video!! I have looked at these workbooks before but haven’t seen a flip through or explanation. They look great!
Evan Moor's Non-Fiction Writing book does have a research chapter. It's broken down in lessons, and it is scripted. Carson Dellosa also has two research workbooks.
I just learned a about this company 10 minutes ago with another youtube homeschool mom. I wanted to know what you have to say about it. Gave me Evan Moor vibes.
I was literally just looking for these on Amazon yesterday for my son, but I could not find them and I couldn’t remember what they were called. This is truly an answer to prayer. Thank you Becky. :) - Michelle
Thank you for this video! I will definitely be checking out these resources. I like the points of comparison with IEW. I have been contemplating IEW for a while now. While it seems to be very thorough in its approach to writing, my kids and I find it to be very overwhelming and intimidating. However, we have been using Fix It Grammar, but I feel like it's way too easy for them. I know there's no one size fits all, so we'll continue to search for what works for us. Thanks again!
Great video. I will definitely check them out. I'm curious if you've ever used Spectrum workbooks for writing? That's what we've used and have liked it, but wonder how it compares.
Since you can really only use these for the one year without repeating them so you know what your future plans for writing are once she’s in high school?

Bingo! I am feel so stressed out about how overwhelming these two curriculums really are 😞

Thank you for this! I've been trying to incorporate IEW into our homeschool, but it requires more time than I can give. I'm going to try this.

Thanks so much for this video. I have a reluctant 5th grader. Introducing these to him might help him grow. Appreciate your inputs.

How did this ultimately work out for you? What grade did you use it for?
I’m very grateful for your reviews! I was debating about IEW and you answered all my questions and concerns! 🙏
Thank you for sharing! I'm thinking about using these resources along with IEW for next year.

No, I haven't but in a nutshell...I just think it's organized fairly poorly but it's still a good program.
Thank you for this! do any of these books go over how to research, citation, footnotes, and bibliography? Love all of your videos!
No, it doesn't touch on those topics.

Yay! Your video came at the right time 😊 Thank you!

You are so welcome!
Thank you, brilliant video, I shall be looking at these books x
Can we use levels 2 and 3 without having to go through 1?

Very helpful review ❤ thank you
Does "Building Writing Skills" talk about when and why literary devices are appropriate and useful?
It does give very brief examples of how and when you might want to use certain literary devices.
Could you use the Essential Tips & Techniques in conjunction with the Level 1 book?
We are doing that currently.
So helpful thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Is this a more advanced program than the 6 - Trait daily writing? Thank you for all your amazing recommendations.
I would say so, but I think you could also use both resources together if you'd like.
Great video. I will definitely check them out. I'm curious if you've ever used Spectrum workbooks for writing? That's what we've used and have liked it, but wonder how it compares.
We have used Spectrum but I've never enjoyed it. I find it a bit choppy but it's definitely affordable!
@@aplacetonest Thanks! I ended up ordering these.
anyone used this with two kids in different grades? could it be modified to do this? I have a rising 5th and 7th.....

I'm not sure but we might do The Good and the Beautiful's high school curriculum.
Any thoughts on write by number?
I've never heard of that, I don't think.
Thank you
Thanks
No problem!
This is nothing like IEW
Thank you
You're welcome!
