  • These new Speak Out buttons from FluentPet are SO. LOUD. I’ve actually had to re-record a few because Billi scared me when she pressed them!
Hoping this helps with some of the audio issues we had, but don’t worry, I’ll still be doing captions.

Billi is a female domestic shorthair, she's 14 years old, her favorite word is mad.
Inspiration for learning to “speak” with buttons from Hunger4Words (check her out on IG).

They need to learn at school, not be tortured by something that will ALWAYS bother them.
I am 42. I am very autistic. I still have meltdowns despite my mother ENDLESSLY TORTURING ME to "toughen me up" for the first 20 years of my life.
If you want to claim "well that's not how the world works". I tend to avoid the world and seek accommodations when I can find them. And that is a valid method of coping with sensory issues.
If you don't like it recognize that most autistic adults don't make it to the age of 35 because people like you torture us until we kill ourselves.
That is a fact that you don't want to cope with because you would rather torture little children because you think that that is useful instead of simply traumatizing.
Hopefully everything that you think that autistic children have to go through in order to cope with real life you have to endure when you go straight to the pit.
Torture is not a valid method of teaching people coping skills. Teaching them to seek out accommodations and avoid sensory issues when possible is the only method that will keep them alive and sane.
And if you don't like that? too bad.
It's not my fault you want to see autistic people fail.

@@2okaycola Autism is a disability where the major disabling characteristic is the inability to properly filter outside input. Would you rather children who have this problem be educated, so that they may be able to work at paperwork or remote jobs when they get older (autistic people's extreme detail orientation makes them excellent at things like copyediting and accounting), or that they be left without any opportunities whatsoever because people like you demand that they accommodate _your_ sensibilities?

I have a 3 yo German Shepherd that is JUST starting out., today will be day 4. I got the big buttons to start out with, like Billis "Bye" button, but I'm already saving up to get him the Connect buttons. I honestly thought it would take him a long time to learn. He's had to learn "paw" etc, but he's learned 2 buttons so far. I feel like the big buttons were a good toe in the water, but they're very muffled and hard to hear. What a great journey to be on with the furry members of our families!

I love how her actions are child life. .. children often will call out to their moms and then pause while they think about what they to to say or ask... not because they really have anything in mind other than they want to connect, have a conversation and be present with mom who's probably involved in some daily task that needs to get done... too cute from kitties and kids...
