I appreciate the details on the “rip, crush,pull “ action. I’ve noted these things in some of Summer’s other videos, but never understood the significance. Thanks guys.
You guys are both excellent educators! I’ve been doing KBs for a few years, then a long break, and just getting back into it, and am fascinated with the mace and club curious. Watching all your vids on here. keep ‘em coming!
Really clearly explained and demo'd thanks. The pull hands apart on the way up and push together on the way down (rip crush) cue is sinking in and I can feel the activation from it. I was taught W1 has equal weight distribution between both feet. It's really clear how centred the position is in this vid during the press. If you talk about it as stepping pattern (rather than static) in future vids, please could you touch on this weight distribution in terms of movement and timing etc.?
@Mark Wildman mind critiquing my workout routine? I built it off your videos. Warmup every workout: 5 minutes stretching, 5 x 10 alternating halos 20kg - superset a 5 x 10 figure eights 20kg - superset a cooldown every workout: 15-30 minutes of foam rolling and stretching Monday: Turkish Getups: 10 x 1 - 28kg at the moment. i did go up to 32kg but couldn't keep the rest period down to about 2 minutes so deloaded Two hand swings: 10 x 20 - 36kg One arm bent over row: 10 x 10 - 24kg Tuesday: One arm Clean and press: 5 x 5 - 20kg One-arm Clean: 5 x 5 - 24kg Goblet squat: 10 x 12 - 24kg Deadlift: 10 x 10 - 56kg Thursday: One arm Swing: 10 x 12-15 - 28kg Turkish Getups: 10 x 3 - 20kg One arm bent over row: 10 x 10 - 24kg Friday: Armor builder: 15 sets with 20kg Kettlebell Deadlift: 10 x 10 - 64kg (2 32kg bells) or Kettlebell Front Squat: 10 x 8 - 24kg Double Kettlebell clean and press: 10 x 12 - 12kg (in each arm) Kettlebell Deadlift: 10 x 10 - 64kg (2 32kg bells) Saturday: shortened warmup with heavier kettlebells One armed snatch: 12 x 6 - 20kg One arm floor press: 10 x 10 - 16kg This is after about 2 years of starting from absolute scratch. Would you reconfigure this somehow? I'm 40 years old at 200lbs.
I wonder about doing hip hinge movements where the starting position would be with the bell low instead of high but using the same idea of "rip, crush, pull" idea to level the mace before doing any two-legged or single-legged deadlift
While I believe there are correctly four versions of this movement (left leg forward + left hand on top/left leg forward + right hand on top/ R leg + R hand/ R leg + L hand), you'll notice that she moved the bottom hand then slid the other hand downwards, effectively swapping hands. Basically, had the wrong hand on top so switched. No real significance except trying to keep the total movement consistent.

Nice. I like the rip and crush explanation and you can really see the difference in control in the video. Cheers!
Great details on the rip and crush thanks for making/sharing guys

Please have another seminar this year with Summer!
We’d love to see you at our next one in July www.flowshala.com/workshops
@@SummerHuntington awesome I didn't know about this one!
I assume there are 4 versions of this: both legs forward and both top hands?
Yes
Summer is SOOOO baaaaaad ass!
Thanks!

That’s is an excellent strategy
Noticed she moved bottom hand on one side and top hand on the other side example. Any significance .?

Thank God she's wearing a jacket
