Freaking Out On The Anakeesta Tree Canopy Walk!!!

- While staying in Tennessee for some urban exploring, i decided to check out one of Gatlinburg's attractions. One thing that Gatlinburg has an abundance of is chair lifts and sky ways. One of the newer and more popular ones is called Anakeesta. You get to ride in an open chair or gondola type capsule on the way to the top of the mountain where you will find a minature type village. Once you arrive at the top you will find food, shops, views and attractions such as the sky coaster and tree canopy walk. Needless to say, doing the tree canopy walk was a bad idea for me. So come along as we explore what Anakeesta has to offer. Enjoy

My aunt and uncle have gone to Gatlinburg every year for about 50 years. I have never been. But it's so beautiful. Great job on the Skywalk! I would have been nervous but I would have liked to do it.

This is all new since the fire that went through Tennessee 2 years ago. That is why mostly everything is new. A lot of the city of Gatlinburg is original but the mountain side stuff that you were at is new because that is where the fire hit.
I remember seeing videos about the fire. Happy to see they have recovered.

This place is awesome man, thank you for sharing it with us. That rope bridge and zip lining looks sick!! I can do that stuff, but the way you felt on the bridge is the way I feel Underground. I can do the trees, still can't do that underground too well LOL

@@janedoe9421 I do want to head back out that way and atleast take the underground mine tour. I think that would be and good beginner mine to start with. But other than that I'm absolutely not crawling through any tunnels LOL
We have a small underground cave at a local park right near me, but I just can't bring myself to go down into it. People have been doing it for years, but you've got to Slither between some rocks to get down in and I just don't have it in me 🤔
That's awesome!!! Gatlinburg is where me and my husband got married in 2007. So I am looking forward to going back some day again. You did a great job on the canopy walk. Thank you for sharing this because I had no idea of all the changes there, it is absolutely beautiful.

Hi Jay! First off, I just want to say how very beautiful the country is there. It's quite humbling. Next, please, stop apologizing for your fear of heights. While you were walking the bridge I was having panic attacks. Do not deny your fears. You are entitled to acknowledge them and respect them for what they are. I have height phobia and it's not funny. My body once turned to rubber at the top of the Washington Monument in DC. I was terrified to the core. It's no laughing matter. But, you braved it out and that's to be commended. Having grown up in Alabama we spent a lot of vacation time in the Great Smoky mountains. I went there on my honeymoon thirty seven years ago. I'm so glad to see these family friendly videos. Y'all do a wonderful job. Thank you

JP, That wouldn't bother me, I used to be a sport parachutist and I've scramble up peaks.
My wife Suzan would be your company, she hates heights. After a while she started to get used to it...if she can, you can, It's not bad, you did well.
You overcame your fear. Your great, you are not afraid to face the heights and show us.
Being afraid is sane, not being afraid is crazy.

Also, welcome to Tennessee! I live in this state and think it's one of the most beautiful to live in. Not originally from here, but I've been here quite a while now.
Wow, it is beautiful there! I like chair lifts too. Never seen them go over residential houses like that.
I would definitely enjoy sitting in the chairs and enjoying the mountain views, besides the tree top canopy.
At the tree canopy walk, I can definitely hear the stress in your voice. Not easy when you fear things.

OMG...my heart is beating fast just looking at the mountains from the edge...even with the fencing...and...I'm not even there. I know I would have a hard time on the bridge! I can just feel myself falling!

Beautiful place, wish I could afford to go. I would have an absolute awesome time on the treetop Bridges and roller coaster thing down the mtn 😁. The highest I've been was when Maggie Valley was open in Cherokee. That's a fun place...riding the amusement rides and the western shoot out they had. Thanks for the adventure 🤗. I haven’t been to Gatlinburg in years. The Anakeesta will definitely be on my list if I ever go back. You on the treehouse bridge was hilarious 😂. You’re such a “big” boy for doing it....you deserve a sticker....just kidding! I love your videos!

JP😇 thank you very much for the great video.Tried watching it yesterday w/my son.Ten minutes into the video, he spilled his chocolate milk all over my phone and everywhere else.Before ppl would worry about everywhere else the milk went.Now it's, get it off any electronics first.After cleaning.Phone had to stay in a bag w/dried rice, it's ok now. I don't like heights either 🙈. I'M glad you get to go on the adventures, and I get to watch it from home. I don't think a wheelchair of any type would work on that bridge. Nobody would want to push anyone either in a wheelchair.God bless you and your family 🌷🥀🌹👼❣️

Excellent video! Happy the area recovered so nicely after fire. Husband and I drove to Gatlinburg 25 years ago. We considered getting married there. We didn't make hotel reservations. Duh! We quickly pulled in ahead of another car at a hotel. I ran in and took last room. It was the honeymoon suite,👄💋💔💓💞
So we honeymooned there but got married later at a small country church. Keep up the great work. You are excellent at what you do.

My husband and I rode the chair lift back in 2013 on our honeymoon. I was freaking out on the chair lift. 😂. But after I got used to it I loved it and the scenery. I love Gatlinburg can't wait til we get back there in 2020. I have a fear of heights also. So I don't think I can do the bridge. Come on Indiana JP you can do it. Yay my friend! I was holding my breath. Glad you made it back safely.Beautiful!!

I have a phobia against SNAILS, so I totally respect your acrophobia. It is NOT ridiculous (snails are ridiculous), and I thank you for your strength to show me a true "million dollar view." I can't walk without a walker, so I'd never even make it up the hill. You're a brave man, my hero!

My husband and I went to Gatlinburg for a four day weekend trip right after Anakeesta opened. It was the week before Thanksgiving and all of the Christmas lights were up and on. We went up Anakeesta and did the Canopy Walk. Anakeesta became our new favorite place and so did Gatlinburg.

Sure is pretty, lots of green colors in comparison to what we have here in southern calif, Not many people will face their fears, you did good crossing the rope bridge, I would feel much safer on a rope bridge than I would on a ski lift and I most certainly wouldn't ride on a zip line thingamajig. but that is me. nice video.

It's not nice to be scared of heights I am too but I have a saying for you THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF FEAR it is so true so do the things that are scary because life is short and their are wonderful things that you can enjoy so do them if you are lucky enough dont ever hold back regrets are awful to have
JP I know this was two years ago which anakeesta has changed significantly since you've been there and at least three years ago whenever it was but I think it was too but that's when everybody else has put their time stamp on there but you know it's changed a lot since then cuz you got the tire up there now but I was behind you all the way I walk that trail out there like I said we was there about two weeks ago I guess it was but enjoyed seeing you and even yes chuckled a little bit when I watched you walk across but it was good hope youhad a merry Christmas and I hope you have a Happy New Year I don't even know if you'll look at this but I'm sure you will but hey if you do God bless you buddy we miss you on Sunday night I'm ready for a car ride LOL

Such a beautiful place amazing the bears and waterfall awe the little doors really cute the design is just brilliant I don't like heights myself but alot of people would love it I prefer to watch and walk and the wobbly bridge looks scary but so nice to see it all I think Americans are the best designers and make the coolest stuff ever at least you did it you walked the bridge a very interesting good video well done
