We stop by Pigeon Forge 2 months ago in our way back from Indianapolis. We didn’t have any idea about attractions or places to visit… Now im planing our trip back there and im here looking at your channel with all the information we need…. Just one question how far is Gatlinburg from Pigeon Forge?
Ryan, this was the most comprehensive video of things to do in Gatlinburg that we have ever seen on TH-cam! There were a few things that we had not seen, so we really appreciate you taking the time to summarize all the highlights of things to see and do!
I sure miss the old Gatlinburg. We used to go in off season back in the 80s and 90s and it was a ghost town. I'm local and haven't been in years and try to avoid the area now as it's so touristy. Neat to see what all is changing constantly without having to go. My favorite part is the Mountain Mall. Not much has changed and is reminiscent of old town. If you go to the second level, you can see two pictures of what Gatlinburg was back in the day. Great aerial photo to check out.
I moved here a little over 20 years ago, and all the changes even to me is sad. Its so touresty, i dont go anywhere any more.. I have never been a fan of traffic. So.
Yes I agree, I miss when it was just a town, and not a touristy destination like it is now. It's really sad how much it is really changed over the years. I went last year and was very disappointed with everything. A few things were still there, but not a lot, mostly attractions now.
Check out the Foothills Parkway in Wears Valley (Townsend) if the leaves have changed. Also, The Park Grill (the sweet potatoes are a must), The Alamo, De Lauder's BBQ and Flapjacks for a good breakfast. Fall is a good time to spot bears before they hibernate. Lock your vehicles and don't leave any food inside them. Bears can F up the inside of a car easily.
Your videos are the best! Super helpful before we planned our trip last spring. I am addicted to seeing whats new so we won't miss anything the next time we head to the area. Thanks bunches ! ❤❤❤
My Family and I will be visiting the End of April. This video is so helpful and interesting. Now I know how to plan our activities. I'm so excited and can't wait to visit. THANK YOU
This is the first video introduction that I have watch to Gatlinburg! I'm heading there next weekend. I'm excited. thank you for all your efforts putting this together.
I would like to see a video of places to stay in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, & Sevierville. It would be so nice to have that to use for a reference . Your videos are very well done and have been very helpful to us. Thank you & God Bless!
I love your videos 🥰 thank you much 🙏💯 very descriptive and you can actually view stuff wonderfully. I'm subscribed and will stay subscribed as long as you put out videos. Very thankful for you all 🙏💯
Thanks Melissa, we are glad to have you join our adventures & appreciate your support! We hope this helps other families coming to The Smokies know wha they can do in Gatlinburg Tennessee this summer!
Great video of things to do in Gatlinburg. A video on elk viewing in Cherokee, NC would be awesome. I've talked to people who say they've wanted to see elk for years and don't know where to go or what time to go. Dawn and almost dusk at Oconaluftee Visitor Center and mountain farm museum is the best place for viewing. My wife and I drive through the Great Smoky National Park from Gatlinburg to Cherokee (1 hour drive) every October just to watch the elk emerge from the mountains and gracefully cross the river to graze in field by visitor center. It is also rut season - sight to behold. You'll know you're in the right area when you see the crowd of people pitching their chairs and cameras on tripods waiting for the elk to appear.
Great video! I didn't realize there were so many things to do and see, along with places to eat around Gatlinburg. I like that you walked the length of it and pointed out a lot of the places that are also on Google Maps, it gives a good perspective of the layout and character of the area. Being from CA I have always wanted to visit Gatlinburg with the family, but I could not convince them to go. Now that my wife and I are divorcing it looks like it may just be me, which is okay with me.
Your videos are very helpful as we plan our first visit to the area. It would be helpful to know what day of the week you filmed a video to get an idea of whether these are weekday or weekend crowds. Thanks for doing these videos!
Glad to hear they are helpful Lynn! This was on Tuesday June 6th. I would say any weekend or holiday will be busy. If I were planning a trip to Gatlinburg Tennessee, I might do the things in town/Pigeon Forge during the weekdays while most people are at work if possible and have down days at the cabin/hotel on the weekends. I hope this helps!
Been going to Gatlinburg since 2017. It's nice, clean, friendly and peaceful. Stay with Elk Springs Resorts. Nice mountain cabins and won't break the bank. If you're going in the Fall, when the leaves have changed, travel the Foothills Parkway. I can suggest places to eat or visit.
Places to eat...DeLauder's BBQ, The Park Grill (get sweet potatoes), The Alamo, The Peddlar, and the Mexican food truck in the Wears Valley food truck Park. Flapjacks has amazing Reeses 🥞. Also, across from Hungry Bear 1 on Parkway, nice little river to get some beautiful pictures. Have a good weekend.
Awesome video ! Very helpful for planning my first trip in town. Love the tour format of how you went through the list, it made it very easy to follow along and not feel lost in town !
Love your videos but for me ....this is the best one yet. We'll be in the Sevierville, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area for 4 days in October, so this is very, very handy for me. Looking forward to your food one too. Interested to see the buses as parking is really expensive. You did a vlog from the waterpark and I loved your water shoes - where did you get them? 🏴
Wow...thanks Stevie! We hope you have a wonderful time in Gatlinburg Tennessee in October! I can't find the vendor I bought them on Amazon. I would just search there for top rated with good reviews.
Thank you so much. Your video hit on so much, and great variety for someone that has never been there. My son and I are coming down in two weeks. Can’t wait!
Another very informative video….I’m thinking it will bring a significant increase in views much like what’s new in Sevierville & Pigeon Forge….I had dropped this suggestion under your live but I’m not sure you saw it? Perhaps not a good idea but I will try it again in case you just did not see it….until we had to give it up last year most of the trips Vivian & I took were in our RV….perhaps it is because it just does not bring the views but I have never understood, with so many folks coming there to camp, why Smoky Mountain Vloggers do not profile the many nice places to camp/RV? We would have been very interested! We found one of the very best RV Parks in the country on Douglas Lake, called Anchor Down….owned by Chad & his wife & run by his daughter Jessica & her husband Brandon….these are some very fine Christian folks….we attended a number of their Sunday services in the park….might be a great place for you to test it out for viewers & I assure you you will be the better for coming to know them…If you tell Brandon the Jim & Vivian from Missouri, who came for month long stays sent you, I believe he will remember us without a last name….I believe the RV community of folks will appreciate it🙏🏻☺️
Thanks Moose Man! I would love to do a top 10 RV resorts video, we just don't have an RV so our experience is limited. I copied your info you shared and will try to look them up. Perhaps I could set up a virtual tour of their campground...appreciate your help!
The Alcatra Museum in Pigeon Forge is cool. The Hollywood Car Museum on the Parkway in Gatlinburg is interesting. Cooter's Place in Pigeon Forge for the Dukes of Hazzard fans. Smokey Mountain Knife Works (have darn near any knife you could think of) with guns in the bottom floor.
We love videos like this! Very informative “travelogue” about Gatlinburg. Looking forward to seeing more videos like this all around the Smokies. Thanks!
@@AdventureIsOutThere Oh wow. Cool. We live about 2 hours south in Cape Coral. Yesterday was our last day and we went up to Ober Mountain. That was the highlight of our trip for my 7year old son! Hope to make it back again soon. Take care.
I have to say. This was one of the best and most informative videos that I have watched in a very long time. I will be in Tennessee in July of 2024 and was looking for ideas and things to do? Well this video definitely gave me a stop for at least two days of activities. Thanks so very much for making and posting this video ❤
Love this....want to go mabey closer to Christmas time for the Christmas beauty!!!! Love look of the city and i will be making stops at some of these places just off what you showed ....thanks!! Subscribing 👍
Ryan, again a great video. I would so love to do things in Gatlinburg but am unable to do much walking and certainly not uneven pavement or hills. So few parking areas and most are expensive . Any suggestions for someone with mobility issues to be able to enjoy any of Gatlinburg?
My husband is kin to Martha Jane huskey ogle. We have traced the family back to her and two brothers. This partial cabin has been moved several times. We usually visit all the gravesites like white oak flats behind the stores there.
we were there this 4th 2024. It was crowded and Brutal Hot ! Crazy Mason's was the place to be. We did the Zip Line @ Anakeesta....So Awesome ! We stayed at the Greystone Lodge, awesome place, but they have a No Meat Breakfast ?
I always enjoy your videos. My husband and I are coming to Gatlinburg for a couple of nights this summer. Excited for the trip there but not the traffic! Lol!
Awesome video. First time visitor coming up next week. Had the following questions for you: 1. What in your opinion is the best mountain coaster experience? 2. For Anakeesta and specifically Astra Lumina, is that best to do at night or during the day it is an equally good experience?
Thanks Chad! Goats on the roof is great and we really like the wild stallion (full video on our FB page). Astra Lumina is best when the sun is fully set. Here is a guide on it: th-cam.com/video/QiJaRgnZWRc/w-d-xo.html
Thank you Ryan . Appreciate the prompt feedback and all the informative videos. I am taking them all in to best plan out everything for our trip. We arrive on the 3rd, so I am thinking hit an early dinner, then go up to Anakeesta since we are staying at the Graystone Lodge, capping it off with the Astra Lumina and then finally the parade even though I may be the only one still going at that hour. Would you recommend any of the food inside of Anakeesta? I was looking at the Mexican cantina place and then maybe grab a quick drink or snack while in Anakeesta. Much love from NJ. Keep doing what you are doing
We have enjoyed the BBQ at their Smokehouse up top & the CliffBar is not bad. We really like the Park Grill's Salad Bar, but that is on the other side of town. No Way Jose across the street is not bad. Chesapeake's is not a very far walk from Anakeesta & one of our favorite restaurants in the area: th-cam.com/video/GFS4j8-W0FM/w-d-xo.html
Great video tour bro. So many changes over the years since the days when my family and I used to come up there every year for spring break. We used to stay at Kingwood Inn that was nestled up in the corner off Baskins Creek Rd. A short walk from the main road. It was a victim of the fires a few years ago and was burned down. It was so quiet there even just a short walk from the hustle and bustle of the town.
This was a very informative video we just left there yesterday but it was just to stay overnight on way home from vacation but we'll be back this summer
I had Guy's Chicken while visiting last month. The tenders look and taste straight out of the frozen isle, edible, but the fries and sauces we're worth it. Oh, the Gatlinburg Trail is a must to escape the downtown hustle. 2 miles and takes you to the Sugarlands Visitor's Center.
1st time going to Gatlinburg in August can u make a video of parking lot prices I know u showed the log cabin where parking lot is behind it. How much is it to park behind cabin. Thanks for your time and help
@@AdventureIsOutThere awesome your channel and family is cool and also helping people we love your channel u all have more details information than anyone else there. Again thanks and God bless
Thanks for the great video. I'm going there after Christmas, though, haha. But thanks to your fantastic video, I might have to stay 2 days there. Sighhhhhhh
Not real time, walking was editing out to keep the video length reasonable. Everyone is different, but I can walk the strip from one end to the other in not too long of time without much difficulty.
Hi.I love this video. We have just 1 afternoon in Gatlinburg coming up and can't decide on whether to go to Anakeesta or the Sky Bridge. What would you advise? Thanks
I plan to do a full Anakeesta vs SkyLift breakdown very soon. In short...Both offer great views. Anakeesta allows you to go to the top on a vehicle, skylift only has the chairlift option. There are more activities (play areas for kids) & food options at the top of Anakeesta. We recommend both, but if I could only do one...it would be Anakeesta for us. We hope this helps & you have a wonderful time when you visit!
Well you showed me attractions I never visited and I have been in the area at least 10 times. I LOVE this place! As someone posted(robertandnancy), the most comprehensive tour I have ever seen. Excellent! Thank you!!!

I used to go with my aunt and uncle with I was about 12. It was a pleasant little town. Really touristy now.
And folks today who move there today will say the same thing 20 years from now and folks who moved there 20 years ago said the same thing.
As I am looking for a nature/historical place to visit, your video helped me to realize that the city of Gatlinburg is mostly a tourist area. Thanks

Indeed a lot has changed in Gatlinburg Tennessee through the years! Thanks TCD...Soli Deo gloria!
We are going to Gatlinburg for vacation this year
This was a very informative video we just left there yesterday but it was just to stay overnight on way home from vacation but we'll be back this summer
Hope you have a great time when you come back!
Great video! Thanks a ton!
Our pleasure!
I definitely want to try the Chesapeake bay restaurant in Gatlinburg. I love fried oysters, so I hope they have them. Thanks for sharing
It's one of Brie's favorites, hopefully you can Teresa!
I would like to see a detailed view of Hillbilly golf and what it is like riding up to the course.
We plan to do a video at Hillbilly golf in Gatlinburg ASAP Linda!
Thank you for the update on Aldean's. I've been looking all over online trying to find info and nothing.
Our pleasure. We plan to go to Jason Aldean's Kitchen + Rooftop bar when it opens up and will give a overview of what it is like.
When would you say is the best time to visit? Not too crowded or too hot.
Least crowded is JAN-FEB. Most crowded is Christmas-New Years. Otherwise if you can be there when most people are at work/in school is your best bet.
Excellent video ; now you need to do the same for Pigeon Forge . 😊
It's on my to do list to do one for Pigeon Forge ASAP. Thanks Nancy...Soli Deo gloria!
Thank you
Very helpful 😊
Our pleasure!
Well Done. Great Job.
Thanks Bionicbabyy...Soli Deo gloria!
when doing places to sleep could you mention if they are pet friendly? thanks
Great suggestion, thanks Doxie Mom!
1st time going to Gatlinburg in August can u make a video of parking lot prices I know u showed the log cabin where parking lot is behind it. How much is it to park behind cabin. Thanks for your time and help
Parking locations & prices are on our to-do list. $10 for garage behind cabin....happy to help!
@@AdventureIsOutThere awesome your channel and family is cool and also helping people we love your channel u all have more details information than anyone else there. Again thanks and God bless
what are some easy trails that arent going to be super crowded. preferably with a waterfall
Thanks for the great video. I'm going there after Christmas, though, haha. But thanks to your fantastic video, I might have to stay 2 days there. Sighhhhhhh
Our pleasure!
Very informative video
Happy to help Neeraj!
Is this recorded in real time? Im wondering if we can park and walk to the things we want to do. I don't want to rely on the trolley.
Not real time, walking was editing out to keep the video length reasonable. Everyone is different, but I can walk the strip from one end to the other in not too long of time without much difficulty.
The Underdogs pizza sign is hung upside down :)
Loved the video and loved that you said to enjoy God’s creation.
Glad you enjoyed it...Sola Deo Gloria!
I love these videos
We will keep making them!
My nephew and his wife is over there right now and it reminds his wife of North Queensland , where she grew up .
👍
Going for first time this October!😊
Awesome Amanda! We have more Gatlinburg restaurant & attraction videos coming soon!
Thank you! Very help...
Our pleasure Casey!
So theres a truck to take you to Anakeesta? Thank you for another video
There is Beth! Here is a video showing the truck better: th-cam.com/video/5i2eFNRyI0A/w-d-xo.html
@@AdventureIsOutThere Thank you!! I look out for the video too
Great job… !well done !
What do you think about tail tides?
Well you showed me attractions I never visited and I have been in the area at least 10 times.
I LOVE this place! As someone posted(robertandnancy), the most comprehensive tour I have ever seen. Excellent!
Thank you!!!
Our pleasure Rebecca!
Great Video
