"I'm not really a pinball wizard, but I like 'em" I think this is probably the best approach to playing on a pinball, at least for me, I always have a lot of fun even if lose the ball in strange ways and really don't give much importance to the score
This game is in good shape for its age. I own one fun game to play. I almost bought in 1983 from a good friend of the family but didn't. I t was in my uncle's kitchen when I played it.
Love your videos. I think the work you do on these machines is amazing and very helpful when repairing them. This machine, gets a lot of love and a lot of hate, but I believe it's absolutely the best EM on planet earth. It looks so simple to play but it has such a good feel when you actually play it. I recommend everyone to give it a try if you get a chance. First pinball I ever got to play in 1976 and took me until 2024 to own one on my own. I really enjoy watching your channel !
I was around 6-7 when that machine came out and we got one that I think was fresh out of the crate in my parent's bowling alley. I wasn't good at it but I remember my older brother just killin it. He gave me a lot of his free games. That game still has a special place in my heart. (And I still wish you would have let me figure out a way to put it in my car and take it home with me when I was down there!)
Back in the day, 1993ish... there was this guy, roughly 21, 22 years old... If anyone could be labeled a "pinball wizard", he'd be that guy! Each and every time he'd come in to play at the arcades, he would mostly only play the pinball games (this was at a time where SF 2 and mortal combat was king), anyway, this guy, with one coin, he would always score high enough where he'd be awarded at least 2 or 3 replays. He would play for hours, and when he left, there would be, on average, 35 credits in the machine from all the free replays he earned. Lol, like the young vultures we were, the moment he left, we'd pounce to play for free... the owners of the arcade eventually had enough of that, and they would immediately come over, open up the coin box, and reset all the credits, but still, they would give us about 5 credits, since we were such patient little vultures awaiting our free turns :)
they really capture the spirit of elton's attire in tommy. i used to see this in a hotdog stand and arcade for years and years, and never did i play it, for somebody was always on it. even after digital multi-balls were the thing. the pinball wizard's machine in tommy had piano keys on top as the flippers. for "effect."
When you know what today is going on with all these nonsen, you would know what the backglass means. This guy knew what is wong with the NWO. He is a genius.
If this did 3 years in the field before being sold privately, it;s in pretty good condition. I imagine it would have got a hammering at the time. The operator must have really looked after it. Elton John was very popular back then.
This is the only pinball machine I've ever actually played because it's the only one I've ever seen in the wild, there's one at my local second hand music shop.
Fantastic work Ronnie. …. who would begin to know why someone would cut down the kicking rubber switches so that they don’t work at all unless you put on three rubbers??? … crazy, but I love it when you take them back to how it’s supposed to be. … works great now.
This machine is sooo beautiful you did a great job brother! It would look so beautiful beside my record collection 😍 if you are running out of room I can store it at my house for you 😉 😄 🤣
Wonderful series, thanks! Please can you explain us how does the "max 1 extra ball per ball in play" works? Is there a relay active when you're playing an extra ball that prevent getting a new one?
Yes thats it exactly. Basically a relay comes on that prevents the ball count unit from stepping up at the end of the ball, so you can’t turn it on twice (it’s already on)
Thanks! and I guess this relay allows the "same player shoots again" to be lit until the first points are scored with the extra ball. Then, if the relay turns off, can you get another extra ball while you're playing the extra ball on an EM? I can't remember if I was able to do it.
Joe's Classic Video Games, There's an old Pawn Stars episode where a guy brought in one of these pinball machines. They LOWBALLED him on what they were willing to pay him! His machine was in AT LEAST as good condition or better than this one. His flippers, however, had red bands on them! LOL
I think I saw that one, I'm not convinced any of that is real :) I think the guy just went on the show and they made a show, lol I think the stuff they have on there the experts actually own but I dunno... seems weird to me there's an expert in the middle of the Nevada Desert that knows all about shipwreck treasure, stuff like that.
@@LyonsArcade It's reality TV! Of "course," it's all unscripted and unrehearsed! < sarcasm off > I dropped my Cable TV because the quality of programming went "up" AFTER everything became reality TV on 95% of the networks! Yeah, I thought the "pinball expert" was full of it. The $4500 the guy wanted was close to what a top-condition Captain Fantastic machine should be worth MINIMUM but that $2500 was really lowballing the guy. They do that all the time on Pawn Stars! After a while, you can't take those guys seriously -- not that you ever should! 😆
If you pause at 8:44 and look close, there a German SS soldier wearing a hat in the background. Pause at 9:17 and as you pointed out, Hitler makes an appearance right under the ring them bells sign. I have this same machine and there’s some strange stuff going on in the background.
Anything else you want to complain about? If you have a Disorder you should go talk to your doctor and not tell everybody else negative comments about what they enjoy.
@@LyonsArcade not complaining at all. Your work is great. I was just pointing out that the original game from factory had white pop bumper skirts. Minor detail not looking to be argumentative just giving the history. No need to attack someone or question their supposed medical conditions. Merry Christmas and keep up the good work

Totally agree!
Same here. Just enjoy playing. Score is irrelevant.

These things go for insane prices. This is my dads dream game. Some day I want to buy one for him
I have one located in Delaware. I may be selling soon

Wow 4:53 the ball has blasted out of the pinball machine in a huge explosion of amazing stupendous pinball actionery! 😯
This kind of machine deserves a re edition.
I agree!
That has the best bounce yet. Very smooth bounces off everything
I love the skinhead imagery on the backglass. large laced up boots with pants that are short.
Really enjoyed this whole series. Interesting mix of mechanical, cosmetic, and "mod" problems.

Cool machine! Dude in the green suit having a good time looks a lot like Gene Wilder!

LOVE to watch the gameplay. Would love to see a full game shot from directly above.
There's a place named PAPA that films all of them from the top
Actually Bally released that pinball game in 76. One of the best pinball games ever made from that era.
When you know what today is going on with all these nonsen, you would know what the backglass means. This guy knew what is wong with the NWO. He is a genius.
Who is wong? CCP?
I've played that game when it 1st came out. It was in an arcade in a big local mall.
I've been playing Gottlieb's Gold Strike all morning. I caught the covids and am not back to work yet.
I hope you get over your minor flu soon :) Thanks for watching duckkillerclyde!
Another brilliant repair on a very awesome pinball machine!
Only ever played this on a virtual machine _(never seen it in the wild)_
Sweet restoration there ron.
What an awesome machine. Great job Ron!
Glad you got it up and back to life. Neat game
It is a shame this is not for sale. This is a must have. If you ever see another one, Do not pass it up.
The pinball machine played by Tommy is Gottlieb's "Kings & Queens"
If this did 3 years in the field before being sold privately, it;s in pretty good condition. I imagine it would have got a hammering at the time. The operator must have really looked after it.
Elton John was very popular back then.
Wonderful video as usual, Ron.
Love machines with big knockers.
Hate extra balls.
More knockers!
:D
Thanks again
Nice job. I can really feel those humpers, I mean bumpers : )
This is the only pinball machine I've ever actually played because it's the only one I've ever seen in the wild, there's one at my local second hand music shop.
Well you've played a good one at least! Thanks for watching!
Buzzzzzz: Ron, your pinball laundry is done. Please pickup your pinball laundry! Lol. This game came out great!

Thank you Mark, tomorrow we start the great Flight 2000 Rebuild of 2021
Hey ron! Always love to see updates from you.
Perfekt,...!!!👍Schönes Video von dir!!!☺
This machine is sooo beautiful you did a great job brother! It would look so beautiful beside my record collection 😍 if you are running out of room I can store it at my house for you 😉 😄 🤣
Spam the left flipper and it sometimes will hit it into the other and out when stuck

Should the back glass bulb behind the “A” in Bally also be a flasher? Really enjoyed this series!
Is Mr. Kmiec still with us? He's an Extra class ham radio operator (W9WIZ).
I like the liveliness of the pinball action on this machine. So, have you made Rocket Man status yet? 🤪
Guy in the bottom right corner of the back glass looks like Christopher Walken to me.
Feel them bumpers! LMAO!
It's a Masterpiece!

Theres not much call for that...best i can do is $20...

Death Before Defeat
Thank you Eric!
Yodelayheehoo
YodelayHeeHoo!
Man those tax stickers were not cheap!
They want their money!
Anyone else thinks that guy on the back glass reminds them of waldo from where's waldo?
He does kind of look like him :)
Nice fix. Was expecting it to play some Crocodile Rock or something. So, is Kiss the first rock act to have their music in a pinball machine? 🤔
I believe they are....
Pop bumper skirts are supposed to be white! OCD here. Nice work.

All the girls on pinball art back in the day seemed to be cold.
It's downright Nippy out!
Some Boomers going to pay a good buck for that. I remember it and the times
Would that be Elton John's lady friend Kiki Dee.
