That backglass alone was a big reason ( 2 big reasons) why this machine was so popular. Thanks for sharing !

One thing I loved about the 70's is that you could find pinball machines everywhere, not just pool halls, bars, and bowling alleys, but also in restaurant lounges, shopping malls, laundry mats and some grocery stores. This Bally Strikes & Spares machine I would never had expected to find in a Bakery ! I imagine a few husbands got slapped by their wives for checking it out....LOL. Anyway, I think there was an EM version of this too and I also love the chimes, even from a solid state machine.

Hi from USA...New Jersey. That's a beautiful pinball machine you have there and it plays great too. I have a 1978 Bally Playboy machine in my collection and love it. I also have some Bally Bingo Pinball machines in my collection too. Thanks for sharing your Strikes and Spares with us totally addicted pinball machine lovers and for the game play commentary.

Thank you very much. It is always interesting watching your videos and the stunning collections you visit. Mostly machines there which i have never seen here in germany and i am sure that a lot of them never crossed the ocean. One question: did you ever play the Gottlieb "Gladiator" and the "Contest"? Both 1950 woodrails. Reason why i asked: i have the chance to buy them both here in germany. Would be my first woodrails ever! And as always: not working and full off dust and dirt. Crazy......but i need some informations from guys who REALLY know what is going on and had there hands on such machines. Greetings from northern germany - nearby Wolfsburg - capitol of VOLKSWAGEN.

I don’t recall playing either game. I would have to view my Paris Pinball Museum videos to see if I might have seen or played either of these games while visiting the Paris Pinball Museum, but even then I could evaluate if the game is a good player or not. Anyway, if you have the extra space in your collection the Contest machine looks to be the better of the two having a roto-spin unit looks to be fun and challenging. Sorry I couldn’t be of too much help with your two possible wood rail games you have a chance at picking up.

That’s a great game and it was fun to watch. Please tell your cameraman thank you for not moving the camera so much. It’s best only to move it when the ball is not in play. You have a wonderful collection. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Thank you for your comments. My main goal is to capture the pinball machines from my collection in moving images. I try to do my best and say something meaningful off the cuff about the pinball machine while I'm filming and friends of mine are playing. The whole thing has no professional character but is simply intended to keep the memory of these icons alive. I'll try my best to take your tips into account in the future. Some of the videos already a few years old. Nowadays i am just working with my smartphone. Nothing else....😀😃😄
