i love it when you filled-in for charlie for a while and played deathrider the PROPER way.
I love this! NO ONE talks about this but yes! You are right haha. When Charlie plays this song, he plays it they way he did on the re-recorded version from The Greater of Two Evils album. Jon plays it the original way from Fistful of Metal with all of the 16th notes on the kick drums throughout the main riff. One of the clear examples is when Thrax played Deathrider at Wacken 2013. In that video, Dette was a warhorse haha!

You have an incredible way to not just play everything so perfectly but to sound so authentic in your videos. So many cover artists on instagram and social media are so over-produced and hamming it up for the camera that it becomes so fake. This is awesome. Man Jon is underrated drummer.
I wish I had this type of educational access to Jon in the 80's when I was 15. Wether it was on a big bad ass drum set, or my high school desk and floor, I never stopped practicing. Jon has always been a huge inspiration, and now that I can watch him in the raw on TH-cam, my drumming has improved two fold. Thank you Jon.

You can't beat the sound of those danmar wooden beaters hitting the bass drums , acoustic bass drums and power is the sound of thrash metal drums , I'm not hating on triggers or those who use them , I just think something can get lost when they are used , practicing and learning to play with power is the way , when a drummer is playing a gig you feel the intensity and power that goes into the drumming when the drums are just mic'd up right and played right .
