It is so helpful that finally someone post a video covers what Kasa won't do. Thank you! A quick question here, for a 4-way system (which I already have) connected as traveler switch 1 -> 4 way switch -> traveler switch 2, if I want to make it smart using Kasa HS210, I only need to replace the "traveler switch 1". Is that correct? Or I misunderstood your video? Thanks!
It should be the switch that has the neutral wire connected with the light. The Kasa switch requires connection to the neutral. So if the neutral white wire is in the gang with "traveler switch 1", then yes. And you don't have to replace "traveler switch 2".
No. Sorry if it wasn't clear on the video. The HS200 is just for single pole for my outside door lights. I just mentioned it as it's in the same electric gang box as the one I'm installing the HS210.

So that kit comes with two switches, what did you use for the 3rd switch in the 4way
You can keep your other existing switches. You just have to install the Kasa switch where the main line comes in.
Did you use a hs200 for the 4- way switch?

@projectdiyshop3583 Thanks. Yeah, I ended up working it out. I appreciate the reply.
@@jeremylocke309what did you use for the third switch?
@Keith-MichaelDAmbrosio I ended up buying a 4-way paddle switch on Amazon that looks just like the kasa switches.
