The jumping cactus is the Cholla (choya) and doesn't jump at you unless you step on it or brush up against it. The thorns are quite strong and kind of act like a spring, that's how they jump. Don't step on them or brush against them and you'll be fine. Snakes, rattlers, always make a sound to let you know you're close, if you hear one, just move away and you should be fine. Lessons I've learned after 62 years in the dessert. Loved your Jashua Tree vlog, never knew there was a town there, now I have to go. Thanks
LOL!!! Fun Fun stuff out there! Aaand such weirdness! I have to say I would have been such a scaredy cat out there by myself. Thank you so much for another opportunity to see fun fun stuff Jordan! You're just a great narrator of trips and experiences. You don't talk too much , you talk just the perfect amount.
Another great vlog Jordan. I have never been to Joshua Tree. The whole time you were on that trail, all I was thinking was ....rattle snakes. I am glad you didn't find any. Thanks for taking us with you!
Best night's rest in the Gram Parsons room. So many interesting places along the way, the Tin Goose,(nice stovepipe), Turtleland, the salon museum, today's vlog is a slice of Americana. Glad you found your way back from the jalopy, ruins and Santa totem. Jumping cactus? Could they be pulling your leg? Lmho. Creepy anecdote about Charlie's music. He's always so happy to see you,Jah! Exciting when you never know where the road may take you, great vlog Jordan. Masterpiece
Wow what a nice scenic trip you had. I was curious about the "pink house" so I looked it up on line and apparently it was owned by a person named Signe Ohlson. This person died in Joshua tree town at the age of 100. In any event, I would love to walk that trail. Happy trails Jordan!
Omggggg....your a brave soul. I would be petrified I would see a snake walking in the desert. It's so cool tho. Love it about Gram Parsons step daughter. What a thrill for you. Had you talked to her before you went there? Love the store...great trip. Thank you...much love to you and Jah! ! Happy 4th birthday Jah💕💖🎂🎈
I enjoyed the trip and feel like I was there. I was watching out for the jumping cactus. Wonder who lived there in the house that is almost gone. I don't think I'll ever get out there. So thanks. Your video shows are wonderful and I don't care what anyone else says.
Hey Jordan I was watching a video of yours where your talking about Gram Parsons and the flying burrito bros. They did a concert in palm springs at a drive in that totally destroyed the place, it was talked about for years. I didnt know who that band was when I was a kid, just heard how tore up they were. Didnt know about the Keith connection either but thanks for filling me in
Loved the old car and abandoned house ; its amazing what you do find in the back and beyond. Wishing you and Jah a Safe journey to the Birthday weekend vlog .thanks again Jordan !!
Wonderful wonderful video, so many interesting things to see. wonder what that building was back in the day,it was pretty substantial. Loved the totem pole. Thank you Jordan
Awesome trip to see the Joshua trees! That was some crazy little saloon and town! Looked very interesting. The first group of rocks you came up on looks like Pride Rock from the Lion King, did you notice? Very Cool, but then I couldn't get The Lion King music out of my head, lol!
You should not worry about the cactus you sure worry about the snakes. Specially if you are alone.. A cactus will not kill you but a snakes will kill you !!
That was a fun vlog! The Tin Goose looked like something that your friend Kenny from Robolights would drive! I really liked the "flower bed"! Joshua Tree is really beautiful country.
Interesting film. Those spots that once resembled homes were part of a land act in the 1930’s to get people to settle there. It’s cool that the main well is still intact. I noticed a couple collapsed wells outside the former dwellings too. As much as 10 years ago many of the buildings still stood. Most were of skeleton form but intact. Desert weather has caused them to give way to nature. Ur TURTLE man was connected to this attempt to settle the desert. And the jumping cactus is wild. U just get close when it has pollination pods and they fly off and cling to a new host in hopes of landing somewhere to grow. My grandmother used to tell me about them. That’s all the useless info I have stuck in my head about this subject. Thanks for the hike. The desert looks calm and normal with sun up but that area is know as terrifying at sun down when cactus take the form of demons etc. anyway good job. Ur trip and cancelled meeting followed by the meeting of family seems very likely directed by Graham’s spirit and there is another chapter coming in ur life that will happen because u went there exactly when u did. I believe EVERYTHING happens for a reason. This vlog is seriously interesting to me. Deeper than the surface. Sorry so chatty.
I live very close to where you were in Joshua Tree ! I was trying to see if I drove by down the 62. It's a great place, but you should have visited the beauty parlor.. its AMAZING!
This was totally great--thank you---you take us all Right There with you-- Enjoyed 100% - my other favs are Carpetbagger and Adam the Woo-- tripple threat !!!!! lol.... love all you guys and so does my hubby.... take care you two....
hey, Jordan .you may recollect me as the guy who shares a Birthday w/ your Dad, and subsequently, w/ JAH. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAH! God bless you guys, and stay well. 4/28/20
Just catching up here on vlogs Jacob. What a cool exploration there in Joshua Tree. Wonder what the back story is on that abandoned structure is, or even that rusted out old car? Very interesting stuff. Glad to see you didn't run into any of those rogue cactuses, right? Well, onto the next vlog. Looking forward to recapturing Jah's birthday. I've read and "liked" the various homages to Jah between both Facebook accounts, and it seems he has quite the following. Glad to be a part of that with you two. Well, onto the next vlog. Stay blessed, and I'll catch you later..... Take care Jacob. Arthur Childs, Oak Harbor, WA. 🙂
WTF! Oh my gosh Jordan..... I am so sorry. I know that is a huge pet peeve of yours. You know, I was thinking of that darn turtle, and your reference to The Carpetbagger sitting on it, that I absolutely inadvertently wrote Jacob, instead of Jordan when I wrote my comment. That's terrible..... I'm sorry..... Art 😥
I am so glad I got to see this! I love weird and here it is! Speaking of Scott Michaels, I have his movie 6 Degrees of Helter Skelter and where the Barker Ranch is, where Manson and the gang hid after the murders is a lot like this place, Desolate and scary! But I'd go there any time. This is on my Bucket List. Thank you for this and all you do, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAH!!
The weirdness trail was fun . Luvd the weirdness lol. The landscape is not what i get 2 c everydae at all actually so it was interesting. Saw kool stuff. Neva heard of jumping cactus..
Thanks for taking us out to Joshua Tree and along the Wall Street Mill Trail. Loved the ruins of the pink homestead - found out it's known as Wonderland Ranch or the Ohlson House. Here's some info - cali49.com/jtnp/2014/4/22/ohlson-house-aka-wonderland-ranch Have a great time and safe trip back to LA.

The Ohlson family house. I think the owner died in 1986 at 100 years old.

Exploring on foot is one of the best ways to discover some of the most obscure things. But you know this already...lol
Thanks Jordan, nothing beats a great day of exploring things you haven't seen before. Have a great day

When I was younger I had a wild fantasy of hanging out in the desert tripping on some magic mushroom , that sort of faded away over time.
Loved the old car and abandoned house ; its amazing what you do find in the back and beyond. Wishing you and Jah a Safe journey to the Birthday weekend vlog .thanks again Jordan !!
Whoa!!!! I gotta see some jumping cactus! That pink house... mystery! And the turtles!! I am pretty happy... thanks Jordan for the fun!
Great video! I spent the last half of it worried you would get lost &/or be attacked by a Jumping Cactus! Thank you, Jordan. 🌼

That's ok. I've lived a good life. I'm not concerned
I would be crushed if a snake got you. Please take care.
The tin goose sits out on the corner of the Joshua Tree saloon....it's a jumpin' little joint on the weekends and evenings in the summer
Another great adventure! Thank you
That was a fun vlog! The Tin Goose looked like something that your friend Kenny from Robolights would drive! I really liked the "flower bed"! Joshua Tree is really beautiful country.

Jumping or Teddy bear cactus but they are Cholla cactus. They are brutal. The thorns have reverse barbs and they suck when you pull them out.,
This is great... Now I want to visit, there!!
@2:39: Now that's a flower bed!
