THIS is what I love about leather; it's the perfect medium to create a 1) Long lasting, 2) *Incredibly specific* , and 3) A good looking luxury item. Awesome job Corter Leather for making exactly what someone needs in 2022. Good luck trying to make that with anything else!

What you were calling an O ring is usually called a jump ring. And rather than opening the rings by pulling the ends apart, it works better to twist the ends apart and then twist them back. The rings are less likely to deform that way and it's easier to close them cleanly and permanently.

Oh my gosh this is absolutely perfect! I recently modified her gusseted phone wallet to fit my big phone and also add a few more card slots but I realized I really wanted it to hang off my shoulder so this is absolutely perfect. I love this design.

I also had to make a bigger version of the phone wallet for my jumbo phone! This one is so close to perfect for those of us with huge phones but I think I'm adding a gusset to comfortably fit mine.

I'm assembling this now (LOVE the pattern) but looking at the size and my giant phone I think I'm going to need to add the gusset like Kayleena did with the first version. I've learned so much from your channel and by making most of your wallets, thank you for another fantastic pattern (I know what I'm making for Christmas gifts).

How do you stitch into and out of where the d-rings are while maintaining a consistent spacing? Do you maintain a consistent spacing around them?

  • @BlackthornLeather

It looks great! Curious as to why the D-rings are on opposing sides instead of just under the snap pouch part?

I suspect once you have stuff in the wallet it will be thicker and won't be balanced weight wise. Having the mounts on opposite sides will keep it hanging straight

I Purchased and like this pattern but may I offer some feedback?
I have bought several of your patterns and they normally come with a reference/instruction sheet. This is a handy reference when assembling the wallet and I noticed this pattern did not come with one.
Also this design is a bit small to take a modern smartphone. After making this design I printed out the pattern at 110%. This made it big enough for a big phone in a case and I recommend this to anyone making this pattern.
Otherwise fantastic design, I look forward to purchasing more of your designs in the future.

Do y’all have issues with the braided Maine Thread twisting while stitching? I’ve struggled with it a lot but I think it might have to do with using French chisels and not having enough space for the thread to pass through. I’ve been using the size closest to the Ritza 0.6.

So I am new to this and I was going to get my first pattern to try out my self. So do I just print it on a regular paper cut it and then line it up with leather or what cause I am totally clueless
Also what type of glue am I supposed to get?

    • @johnmarkowitz1827
      @johnmarkowitz1827 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I buy card stock and print the patterns on that; regular paper is not rigid enough to trace the pattern on to leather. As for glue, most people use contact cement; especially when gluing two large pieces back to back. For gluing seams, you can also use the contact cement, but there is also leather glue very similar to white glue or double sided basting tape that may be easier/less messy to work with. If you go back through Corter's earlier videos, many of them include more basic step by step instructions addressing these questions and likely others you haven't come up with yet. 😁

Hey CL, my daughter runs a B&B and has two phones (sometimes she has to hand the business one over to someone else). She needs a small crossbody bag that has two easily accessible phone pockets…would you please create one?

Wanted to mention that you should google how to open and close jump rings. There's a better way to do it that preserves the integrity of the metal and makes it less likely to open up later on. If you're looking straight through the loop you twist one side towards you and one side away, if that makes sense. Don't open it like a clam - it's harder to get back in shape.
