Absolutely the BEST and I mean the BEST ever. I made minor modifications. I used 5 egg yolks instead of 4 eggs. I used instant yeast and milk instead of water. I used butter instead of the shortening and added vanilla extract.

Well I found yas through this video of Yalls but I love homestead channels and I couldn't help but see you shirt, Hocus Pocus and yet this video was uploaded way early on in this year. I know by now you know Hocus Pocus came out with a HP2 after 29 years. Sweet! Also you mentioned the Queen and referred to her being alive with all her favorite breed Corgis. I had one myself when I was much younger, his name was Smokey. Anyway I subbed and rang the bell. Hope to see more from yas, these came out looking delicious even the over-well ones I bet were good! Thanks for the video. I would have never thought of the secret ingredient being such a secret. Others have claimed secret ingredient but then used heavy whipping cream or half and half and you didn't put any of that in yours at all which for me is awesome because that cream is high in calories per tablespoon. Anyway thanks, I will have to try this one day for my nephew and nieces when they come visit.

I put raisins in mine too, after they sit in steaming hot mixture of vanilla, cinnamon (I use Costco’s too) and Watkins butter flavor) I let it Drain really well through a colander. And I use a ton of roasted pecans. I make the Icing but I Ice them individually when I serve them. I have never used mashed potatoes, never heard of it. I use a pastry recipe I adapted for cinnamon rolls. I may try this, beats spending all day in the kitchen.

Hi! I am new to your channel. Your son did a great job filming and your corgi is cute. Thank you for this recipe! I would add raisins (no nuts) as this is how our cinnamon rolls are made in the Northeast. Your Aunt is awesome! Now, may I ask what is “dry ice root beer”?

Food grade means the CO2 used to make the dry ice is the same quality CO2 as used for soda fountains and also the dry ice can be used to transport food and produce. Kathleen, I also improvise! I use a food processor to very fine chop the filling using any combination or all of the following: raisens, dates, walnuts, fine grated orange zest, sugar, good dark baking chocolate, and high quality dark cinnamon. I roll the dough making the sides thinner around a large thicker center. The center is so yummy! 🥰
I bake them on parchment paper at 350° checking them often, every 10 mins, to protect them from over-baking. Tap the center to make sure it is baked enough. The white icing can be decorated appropriately for any holiday or event!

Potatoes combined with the yeast help it rise super high. And the taste is so yummy. Let me know how they turn out. FYI they do take abouy 4 hours start to finish. I dont use a mixer bowl because it is such a large batch.

I use Saigon Cinnamon (Vietnamese Cinnamon is also another name) in my cinnamon rolls, if you've never tried it, I highly recommend it! It has a higher cinnamaldehyde content, so you can use a little less if you want. The flavor really pops!

OK, Again best recipe ever. I am like a Steve Jobs I like to make modifications so I did. What I did instead of cooking the mashed potatoes I just said a prayer and threw them in along with all the other ingredients. I also added 1/2 a cup of sour cream. O my goodness it kicked it up I do not know how many notches. Here is the final recipe. Trust the process you won't regret it.
    3 cup hot milk
    2 Tbsp. instant yeast
    1 cup butter
    2 tsp. salt
    1 cup sugar
1 1/3 cups instant mashed potatoes straight out of the package
    1/2 cup sour cream
    5 beaten egg yolks
    2 tspn vanilla
    7-9 cups flour
