Donkey King was the Donkey Kong version for the TRS-80. There was originally going to be a port of Donkey Kong for the TRS-80, but it was never officially released.
You missed one of the best clones of that era, "Cannonball Blitz" for the Apple II, released in 1982, give it a look when you get the chance, you won't be disappointed.
Imagine being in a business where you have the opportunity to CREATE anything you want.. but instead just copy someone else's idea. These devolopers should've worked at a papermill.
Some of these are not DK Clones. Miner 2049er is the world's first "Real estate Platformer". Mr Do is an imporvement over Space Panic. Kangaroo has a few new things. Springer was unique. But some were just obvious DK ripoffs.
Springer looks a lot like the bonus area of Ice Climber but it predates it so I wonder if Nintendo borrowed it like how they borrowed from Joust for Balloon Fight.
Some of these are just platformers, not DK ripoffs. Also next time can you do some of the text mode donkey kongs? I believe they existed for commodore PET, kaypro/Osborne/cpm, and pc.
Not gonna lie, this is a pretty bad list. Quite a few aren't clones at all. If something involves platforms and ladders isn't it better to call it inspired by DK rather than copying it?
0:22 bro literally played the twitter community's theme song
all of twitter hates you now
They can't handle the truth

I was also going to comment about this! I enjoyed that version in between bouts of programming back in the 80's!
Mr. Don's castle at 6:58 - that's neat with the "stairs" shifting like that! put that on for phones now - bingo

0:58 i like to play this because is that chopy sound effects. i like that sounds. and sprites too! even the backround!
This certainly helps explain why Nintendo has remained so protective of their IP even to this day.
I'm surprised that you chose the 2600 version of Kangaroo rather than the Arcade original.
Nah that’s the 5200 version, or the 8-bit family version? Idk
I don't think that miner 2049er is a clone of Donkey Kong
did ya'll realize that monkey kongs mario/jumpman sprites are the ones in the atari 2600 version of donkey kong?
Fun Fact: Mario’s Brewery would later become Pubjumper Mario.

How could ghe TRS-80 CoCo have such good animations in Donkey King?
Do Dunkey Kingo (ZX Spectrum)
also why does pac-kong look so different?
Some of these are just platformers, not DK ripoffs. Also next time can you do some of the text mode donkey kongs? I believe they existed for commodore PET, kaypro/Osborne/cpm, and pc.
Why does Donkey King throw communion wafers at the hero?

It haves nostalgic songs
In my opinion, I kinda wouldn’t say manic miner is a clone. You would have to walk EVERYWHERE to complete the level. But I see the resemblance.
Not gonna lie, this is a pretty bad list. Quite a few aren't clones at all. If something involves platforms and ladders isn't it better to call it inspired by DK rather than copying it?
Mr. Do's Castle is NOT a clone/copy of Donkey Kong!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once again...do SOME research. Kangaroo is most defintiely not a clone of Donkey Kong.
