I am not surprised to see Blue Mage, Ninja, Samurai and Chemist all feature as the main jobs used at some point in the run been pretty much the best jobs in the game
yeah thats honestly an extremely prevalent issue throughout all of FF5.... i mean most of the early ff games are like that, now that i think about it, but 5 in particular seemed to just constantly be vague and open-ended with its story progression.
@@croatiancowboy probably why in ff7 they started highlighting the dialogue where to go. it was much easier, i remember playing the original psx version in the late 90s and never lost as where to go
@@loginavoidence12 Its just a culture change thing as games evolve. I mean think about the difference between morrowind and skyrim. No real fast travel, no markers, a literal journal that contains all your quests. Daggerfall is even worse in that regard lol. in FF5 though i do think it's more of an actual problem.. especially like after you get the airship and have to find the flying fortress. There's no hint whatsoever, you're just meant to stumble upon it on accident and i'm not so sure that's exactly the best game design. All in all that's really my only gripe about the game, it's still my second favorite game in the series. It's definitely annoying when I go a long time without playing the game and forget all the little details and have to keep looking up a guide to progress the story lmao
In ff5 you have to equip jobs to learn skills. In ff6 you have to equip gods to learn magic. In ff7 you have equip items into your armor AND level them up to use basic magic.
Only if there was a 100% category, where you need to complete 100% of the game (including side quests, items, spells, etc.). But I believe that category does not exist for FFV
otherwise, there is no reason to defeat these bosses, as the goal of a speedrun is to complete the game as quickly as possible, and both Shiryu and Omega are not required to complete
So around 40 mins into the run you got poisoned on purpose and kept yourself poisoned for a long time, what was that about? Does the bosses HP scale to your current HP or something? So confused.
A Knight will automatically cover physical attacks on a party member that is in critical health, and the Knight Guard ability makes them take 0 damage from physical attacks, so if you have a Knight guarding while the rest of the party is critical health the Knight takes the hit for them and takes 0 damage, it's used in a few different places in the run, but the poison in North Mountain is to set up the Galura fight at 42 minutes, Galura only does physical attacks so as long as you Guard on the first turn and kill it before the first poison ticks it can't kill you.
Why does the run has to end with the first form of Exdeath? I guess it's because it would be impossible to beat neo Exdeath at this point with this team, if anyone can tell me it would be appreciated Awesome run
Exdeath's tree form (along with other enemies with a death script) has a bug where if he's berserked he never transitions into Neo Exdeath, so the Any% speedrun takes advantage of that since it's faster than killing Neo. The Any% Glitchless category kills Neo at even lower levels (but it takes longer). This video is the current WR for that category: www.twitch.tv/videos/983509745
The classic question if doing it as fast as possible and/or with the fewest requirements as possible is better? It is generally preferrable to plan to fight things by handicap. Congrats on the run though. I have attained two World Records myself yet I found taking my time as more enjoyable. All in the personality.
Technically he did not beat neo x death so he did not do the speed run because xdeath never triggered his true form plus I really hate speed runners it takes all the fun out of rpgs
I've never agreed with this mindset. Games are for entertainment, and if someone else finds playing a different way entertaining to them AND it doesn't stop you from playing the way you want, then your personal fun level isn't affected in the slightest.

Good job, guy
Is there a speedrun killing both omega and shinryu?

How people forget you do not need to do everything to master something.@@bruninhinho
