- Join us as we embark Saga's Filia Rheni for a week-long Danube cruise. The cruise took us from Budapest to Bucharest and it was my first experience cruising with Saga.
Saga are a 50+ cruise line but I was invited on board so the minimum age requirement was bypassed for me, I'm 25!

My husband and I were on The Saga Rose several years ago. It was a wonderful cruise visiting many countries. Three quarters of the passenger were from England. The rest were from the U.S. (us).
Years ago we went from Vienna up the Danube to Budapest, stayed in a lovely hotel for several days and came back by train
Looking into River cruises so doing some research very helpful vid and loved the backing music (the DJ in me coming out)

what was your favourite shore part of the cruise, art galleries, palaces, museums, church, opera, concert, play theatre, ballet or dance , nature, ....? how does saga compare in price, destinations to other river cruises such as croisi, viking, scenic, emerald, ama, avalon....?

Emma. Not in the UK or Europe. Have been really turned off by what American cruises offer and they troubles they have. Now that I am re-inventing life - there may be a cruise in my future. Glad I found your videos.

It was called a French Balcony on our river cruise ship and frankly, I prefer it to a regular balcony, because then, the cabin size becomes smaller.

@Emma Cruises Getting on the ship on a river cruise just plain sucks. It seems its the same for the majority of river cruise lines. I have traveled on Vantage River cruises about 7 times. You get there, and wait, they try and keep you occupied but you are tired. I guess people are disembarking all day long and aren’t required to get out of their cabins, really until noon. I was just on a Seine river cruise before covid and we had to wait until 4pm to get into our cabin. We we allowed to sit in the lounge until 4, but we were there for about 5 hours. We did some walking around but i didn’t want to carry my carry on luggage with me and there was no place to put it securely. Next river cruise i will go a day or so early, stay in a hotel, and then even if I have to wait to get on i won’t be as “Nackered” (sp) as just getting off a bit flight all the way from the USA. Once you get in your cabin, all is good, its just that fatiguing wait that is maddening!!

Since the pool is sunk into the ship allowing for the top deck to fold down for bridges and such, is the space under the pool closed-off or a weird half-deck scenario like you see on some ships with slightly higher roofs on some areas? I’m guessing it’s just closed off, but I’m curious nonetheless. Have a great day! (:
Yeah it’d be in the roof of the lower deck, kinda. The pool isn’t usually deep 😀💕
I see table numbers placed all around in the Dining Room. With your additional comments, Saga seems to be an “assigned” table seating. Correct?
Yep yep, for dinner it’s fixed.
I think you mentioned in another video that with SAGA cruises the ships do have elevators to the top deck, is that correct?

Many of the interior spaces seemed either incredibly drab or unnecessarily bland. (Ofcourse, I just watched your Virgin Cruise Lines review prior to this one, so it could just be the shock of going from one extreme to another).

Nice video and good info but the ship seems rather dated. Especially compared to Viking, AMA or Gate 1. Kind of reminds me of "Fawlty Towers".

River Cruise Ship? It's a boat. What's the difference ?A ship leans out when turning whereas a boat leans into the turn.
I thought it was to do with a ship having life boats onboard? 🤔🤔
Go with a foreign cruise line , it is a holiday , or at least with one that does mixes of nationalities, not even English people want to be stuck with same people from next door in england

Chess is a poor choice for a game in a public place. Even if one is interested in chess, It is too dependant on an opponent of similar skill level.
Aren't you supposed to be 50 years old to sail a Saga cruise, or from 40 upwards as a guest for a 50yr old person? You do look somewhat younger one thinks.
