In India, people will start cooking after taking bath, (Not many in cities due to work pressure and blindly following western, but it is still followed in villages). Traditionally Indians don't store the cooked food and carry it over next day, end of the day the remaining food will be given to homeless people or feed to street dogs or cow. In my village the whole bunch of (Around 10) dogs are our pets, we are not growing in our home, but they love us and safeguard us because we used to given them food once in a while 😜. Go and ask villagers, they will tell many stories like Hachiko's Dog story. Drinking boiled fresh milk also unique in India, every morning milkman will come with fresh milk (taken just an hour before from the cow) and we will boil it first then drink it. Now cities got pocket milks which I hate. I feel the taste of water only in India, most of the countries and big cities in India drink RO water, but many places in India, people drink river water directly without processing. I grew up drinking Thamirabarani river water (Thamiram means copper in Tamil), Thamirabarani water tastes little sour due to copper. Siruvani in coimbatore area tastes sweet. Kaveri and Ganga water taste both sweet n sour. In cities water tastes blunt 🤦♀️. Indian food designed to have six tastes (Arusuvai unavu), Sweet, Sour, Salty, Pungent (spicy), Bitter, Astringent, one should get all tastes everyday in order to avoid diseases. Like this there are many habits which are not followed in India itself nowadays due to so called westernization. There is a saying in TN Unave marunthu, (Food is the medicine), now medicines became food 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

India taking 6.5 showers a week varies ..colder climatic regions don't require people to take bath too many times as this can lead to dryness of skin and other problems...but hot and humid regions such as brazil and certain sections of India where you sweat more frequently necessitates for 2 baths at least in a day...
Actually it's not about climate it's about habit see now in india it is 5° at my place but it is mandatory for everyone of my family member to take shower no matter what, i mean your argument maybe right if you consider taking shower with cold water otherwise it looks like a silly excuse for a lazy person
@@Bhatonia_Jaat habit, weather and many other factors go into it ....I come from the coastal side of India..its hot and humid throughout the year ..you cant go without taking baths twice a day ..when I visit my relatives who live in a colder and more temperate part of India where taking baths twice a day is unnecessary and is more problematic as well...
@@cjk9988 i m just talking about taking shower once a day, 2 shower a day might be problematic, u r right. But i disagree with the argument of not taking shower daily. It all depends on the habit

In my family in India, we traditionally use separate sets of utensils for cooking rice or any starches, and another separate set for anything that’s non-starch. Great care is taken to avoid contamination between the two sets. In fact upon touching a vessel that contained cooked rice, we must wash our hands before touching a vessel containing some non-starch like a vegetable fry or yoghurt. I used to think it was silly tradition until I discovered that foods containing starches have 10-100x more bacterial growth after the same time duration, when compared to non-starch foods.
Hey benjamin I recently watched all your videos and you are developing well deserved things for people to learn from and i also love the way how you survived for 2yrs in india as usual indian do, you are doing very good job mate. Hats off for your work and you are the first foreigner i noticed doing this kind of thing. Love from india 🇮🇳
1 thing I would like to write here, When you're talking about hygiene in India, 70 to 80% Indians who have pets(cats/dogs) do not allow them to sit on the sofa or bed. We don't allow them to enter the kitchen. It's not like we don't love them, but we don't want their hair all over our sofa and bed and food. I want this thing to remain in India, but unfortunately people want to become foreigners here.
I sleep with my kids, dogs on beds. However, before sleeping i give them a sponge bath with dettol. I love them to bits and I'm single so they're my buddy. So, is not westernisation, its how comfortable you feel and how much commitment you have to care for your family members and house. This westernisation logic was not very convincing.
Thats true, i have two dogs and they both have their own beds with comfortable mattress and blanket for winters. Even in summers they sleep next to my bed as in my room we have an ac which is near to bed. They mever sits on sofa or bed. They rarely enters in kitchen and if they do my mom instructs them to sit outside of the kitchen. We love our dogs , but also needs to take care of their health and others.
I sleep with my pup because i love his warmth and snores while i sleep and he feels more connected to me that way. I brush his fur everyday and that does the job pretty well. Its not westernization, its how people share their relationships with their pets.
@Nikhil Kumar sure bro, A 'Karen' is a slang word used to address a person who is overly demanding (like they're always complaining about small things) and opinionated (they feel that only their point of view is right).
That's why Indians immunity is so strong..we bath everyday. And we dnt use toilet paper to wipe our poop..we wash with water...our hygiene habits makes us more strong and more immune than western countries
Washing your feet and hands is must after returning home. Some houses have a bucket or they directly have a tap somewhere outside which helps them to clean themselves before they enter.

First of all I would like to say your videos are really interesting. And helpful for Indian immigrants to make their Americanized kids why some of the annoying Indian ways are useful. Since you mentioned allergies for drying clothes outside I would like to share my experience. In general Indian houses and most buildings (not the new corporate world offices) keeps their doors and windows open even after it's dark outside. We close them when it's time for bed. Then we open the bedroom windows weather permitting. Which is 80% of the year on most regions. So Indians are very used to breathing the outside air. And there is so nice air circulation in the house compared to US that you are more fresh air than US . and most people are very accustomed to different weather. Here in US during fall and spring I take 2 medicine and a nasal spray every single day. Then also my sinuses are out of control on some days. I carry all my medicine when I visit India. I don't need to take a single one. These are just my thoughts and in no way I am saying negative things about US but just telling my own experience.
Using cow dung mixed with a bit of water placed before the out door before sunrise. Actually, before sunrise the ozone layer is close to earth surface. The methane from cow dung mixes with ozone to form lizol which acts as a antibacterial, antiviral.
Just before you switch like unfortunately how people in India copy everything Western only to know later of its problems - leather industries, plastics, pesticides, insecticides, glass, please check out the things it cannot do what the sun can - the sun charges your clothes with positive energy which is more than just heat of a dryer, dryers mean more electronic waste (keep in mind it costs more to recycle electronics in the West than they actually are worth and most often they dump them in poor countries which India does not have as an option), more electricity usage vs using direct sun, and kills bacteria which again heat cannot.

*Most indian bathe with the bucket instead of taking shower. According to the studies it helps the body to adjust the temperature as they have to dip the mug to take out the water from the bucket and the touch of water on hand helps the body to adjust the temperature. In case of shower water directly falls on the head which might result in the cardic arrest etc*
So true man.
Tune kab survey kra ki most indians use buckets instead of showers. Apne ghar ko pure country se generalise mat kar bhai
abe jb India ki baat hoti h to traditional Indian ethics and rules ki baat hoti hai ultimately village life. Ab muje nahi pata tere forefathers hand pump me shower lga kr nahate the ya bucket se.
Such a helpful comment thanks

@@Bhatonia_Jaat No even doctors say that in colder regions and during winters..taking bath everyday can deprive your skin of natural oils...so alternate day bathing is better...My brother's teacher who is a doctor told this...Also hair shouldn't be washed too often during winters as it depletes the natural oils of scalp faster..natural oils or sebum should
be retained on the scalp to prevent damage from excessive dryness...This is not an opinion but what the experts say ..However that doesn't mean one shouldn't wash extremities and face and change clothes as most people do!.TBH it's disgusting even if you don't bathe everyday basic hygiene should be practised..this doesn't happen in most cold countries!🙄..Indians are better!(not all but considerable no.)

1 thing I would like to write here,
When you're talking about hygiene in India, 70 to 80% Indians who have pets(cats/dogs) do not allow them to sit on the sofa or bed. We don't allow them to enter the kitchen. It's not like we don't love them, but we don't want their hair all over our sofa and bed and food.
I want this thing to remain in India, but unfortunately people want to become foreigners here.
We need modernization in India not westernization.
@Ravee Siffredi when did I said cuddling means westernization!!?????

Try and making video on Indian Milk, I recently came to know from my friends staying in U.S & U.K that the milk they are having there has made them lactose intolerant. All of them used to be big dairy product consumers when they were in India. One of them pointed out its because of a certain type of milk protein. Also, would like to if Michelle is vegan by choice or cause she’s lactose intolerant?
And if she’s lactose intolerant then making her try local cow/buffalo milk and dairy products (not packaged but fresh) to check if she has the same reaction.

Lactose intolerance is caused by A1 quality milk, but desi breeds of cows and buffaloes produce A2 quality of milk which is good for body so we don't need to worry much.
