I once watched a really long video of Nick Offerman building a canoe. It was incredibly entertaining, and I remember at the time wishing that he had a show where he just built stuff. Dreams do come true.
To be fair. The three woods he guessed have very unique distinguishable smells, mahogany and teak don't have much of an odor, so it would be hard for anyone to guess them.
Mahogany definitely has its own smell, you're right, it's not that 'in your face'. I think if Nick started with freshly sanded mahogany he would have got it, but after blowing out his sense of smell with pine, anything that subtle is going to be lost.
I love it so much!! Just found on Hulu this series so cute getting to see Amy and Nick Chemistry together get to know them personally lol love their comedic timing is so good they some badasses!!
I love both of you on parks and recreation ! My favourite show ever ! And now I started watching interviews of you and I like you even more ! You're awesome !
Nick is awesome! His descriptions, word choices and wit are excellent. Nick's laugh is awesome even though we do not get to hear it that often. Of course Amy's wit and humor are great as well. I especially like when Any goes off on trying out different word combinations. You two really make the show. I hope this show sticks around. Love the maker community and being part of it as well.
Since Nick is an avid woodworker, I really thought he would get Mahogany. But props to him for getting more right than wrong, I wouldn’t be able to do that
Listening to Nick talking about wood makes me want to quit my job as warehouser and start as wood worker or at least as carpenter. He could teach woodworking even to a donkey.
I can not believe they're actually trying this for real, I remember an old Home Improvement episode where there was this whole Tool Time segment about Al doing this very thing! XD
First off hop, Nick and Amy are the best! Secondly, Nick, what's is the best WOOD for learning how to widdle small figurines? Finally, Holy cattle, Holy Tables, Holy cubbereds, that was crazy! No wonder his nose for Whiskey is so good!
Hey I remember this old joke, you dogs. There is a bit of the set up missing but as I recall, the punchline was "it's a piece of pine from the shithouse door of an old tuna boat." Hahahahaha.
I still can't find the song they're singing in the woodworks. It was dirty and also teared me up. But I don't remember what was the name of the clip!!!
3:06 Tensile strength is for pull strength. If he means it's strong in pushing, it would be compressive strength. It might be that cedar has both, however, that's unlikely as wood is considered to be an anisotropic material. Some woods are better in compressive strength and some are better in tensile strength.
I could listen to Nick Offerman talk about wood all day. All of them. All the woods.
His woods be good
i literally hear him speak thru your words... all of them
yea lmao
all I know about woods is that they come from trees.........
Listen to his audiobook Good Clean Fun, he narrates it himself,
It is impossible to hear Amy Poehler's voice and not imagine she's about to energetically announce something new for Pawnee 😄
Yup. Just like the loser commie libtard she actually is. Same for Nick. Hope they both check out as aggressively as possible.
True!

What show would that be?
Steven Zepeda th-cam.com/video/Q7qiXZqrvfI/w-d-xo.html
Domm Green there's a series of clips but this gives a sense of it th-cam.com/video/Q7qiXZqrvfI/w-d-xo.html
I read your post in his voice, and that was also entertaining. End of post.
I love how he made everyone be quiet so he could smell better
"Millenial pine" new band name, i call it!
Damn, i miss Parks & Rec so much ! Makes me nostalgic... :) Leslie and Ron forever !!
Amy is the most lovable celebrity ever.
Objection: Nick Offerman is the most lovable celebrity ever.
Mujtaba Ibrahim yup
Though she definitely push the boundaries of the "that's what she said"s here
Millennial pine lolz I'm dead!
You're not dead, you're exaggerating for effect to get likes.
Like a millennial would do.
Agreed! Fantastic wit
@@OriginalPuro lmao
Nick Offerman dancing is now my new favorite thing.
Amy's humor and Nick's love for wood work makes me feel alive.
I hope this show experiment takes off. Kudos and points for trying something odd. hehe.
Pawnee's _really_ hurtin' for quality local TV, huh?
This is better than over 99% of anything made in the last 20 years.
After Johnny Karate left, everything went downhill
To be fair.
The three woods he guessed have very unique distinguishable smells, mahogany and teak don't have much of an odor, so it would be hard for anyone to guess them.

@@TempleGuitars since I made this comment I’ve encountered a few species of mahogany that smell unmistakably like cinnamon, especially sapele.
Yep, anyone who’s spent some time outdoors around the US is gonna nail pine and cedar. I *love* the smell of pines, brings me back to summer camp.
There's no difference between Ron Swanson and Nick Offerman. Essentially the same person. Love it.
The little dance at the end was wonderful! So unexpected from Ron Swanson.
Reminds me of Home Improvment
Tim - Al Borland smell that wood. (Tim places sock on wood)
Al - Tim I think this one has some kind of fungus.
sentx I watched that whole video just to see if they'd rip off that joke. Or "wait...*sniffs again*...Western red cedar"
Last time I saw a person licking wood I had to click "I'm over 18" first.
👀
"This is a deciduous" DEAD lol
It's weird seeing that man with a smile for longer than 6 seconds after seeing Parks and Rec
I love Nick Offerman so much.
This is a throwback to Al knowing every type of wood by smell on home improvement lol
I love how these two are such good friends in real life
Man, Nick is great! Quite the inspiration.
Nick: Can you sand right there?
Amy: That's what she said
Amy: *Smirks and camera*
“MILLENNIAL PINE” amazing
I was waiting for him to overreact and get really mad when he lost....
An unpopular account “I am not a sore loser. It’s just that I prefer to win and when I don’t, I get furious.”
Amy & Nick have way way better chemistry than Jimmy. They are hilarious together.. "It's been a wet year.. that's what she said" Haha.
I love it so much!! Just found on Hulu this series so cute getting to see Amy and Nick Chemistry together get to know them personally lol love their comedic timing is so good they some badasses!!
Now I need to go lick all my wood.
I wish my tongue were long enough to do that.
bzacon but then you’d never leave your house 🤣
well unlike you bzacon, Studio is very well endowed
That’s what she said.
That's what she said.
This is why Nick is awesome.
3 out of 5. Really good job
My life is complete now that I have watched Nick Offerman huffing wood.
"Smells really wood" it was right tiene Amy!! Love this♥︎
Amy and Nick are a great duo
"I'm gonna need a sanding" lol, love this!
I love both of you on parks and recreation ! My favourite show ever ! And now I started watching interviews of you and I like you even more ! You're awesome !
is Nick, dare i say, the Bob Ross of wood!!
love their friendship! they compliment each other

I might have gotten 2 or 3. Maybe. That’s pretty good. Nick knows his wood.
That, I feel compelled to point out, is what she said.
David Thomson my favorite phrase. 🤣
Nick nose his wood? Someone had to say it.
I'm always up for a good pun. That's a good pun.
Pine and cedar are fairly easy if you've worked with them, but don't think I would have gotten any of the others.
I LOVE AMY POEHLER AND NICK OFFERMAN - I have heard that Nick is quite the artisan!! I am looking forward to watching this show.
I could watch Nick sanding his wood all day long…
his timber and wood working knowledge is incredible
Listening to Nick talking about wood makes me want to quit my job as warehouser and start as wood worker or at least as carpenter. He could teach woodworking even to a donkey.
I love he got so specific!
Millennial pine I like that one
Unguents. He really is Ron Swanson. Also, Amy will always be funny & cute as all get out.
Two of my favorite actors!!! love this❤️
I can not believe they're actually trying this for real, I remember an old Home Improvement episode where there was this whole Tool Time segment about Al doing this very thing! XD
I have been going through withdrawals since P & R went off. I've been counting down the days till Making It!!!!
I relate to this segment on a spiritual level.
I remember an episode of Home Improvement where Al identifies wood by its smell.
Nick is hilarious
THAT IS MAHOGANY
anybody else getting Great British Baking show vibes with glue and paper stuff?
Nick! Got given a beautiful piece of timber for a shelf, have no idea what it is...do you smell on commission?
very funny, love your little segments, you two are awesome together!
this was fun ! more please
How did I only just find your channel!?!? 😍
Can someone please just give Nick Offerman a woodworking show already please?
Lmao they are too funny and cute !!!!
smell that wood.. the one that makes me go woo woo wood.. the one that make me go wooooooddddd that makes me soooo happyyyyy. (play that song)
Nick really is the manlist man ever.
Amy's collar has a witch hat on it? that is so cool!
I love this
First off hop, Nick and Amy are the best! Secondly, Nick, what's is the best WOOD for learning how to widdle small figurines? Finally, Holy cattle, Holy Tables, Holy cubbereds, that was crazy! No wonder his nose for Whiskey is so good!
I need more of this!
"That's the shithouse door of a fishing boat!!!!!" Best punchline ever. I hope everyone knows the joke because I'm not typing the whole thing.
You're letting him hold them! I DEMAND SCIENTIFIC RIGOUR!
I'm SOOOOO excited for this show!
I would watch eight seasons of this
I like it and I love it so much
More please.
I need to know where Amy got that shirt from. I am obsessed!!
Hey I remember this old joke, you dogs. There is a bit of the set up missing but as I recall, the punchline was "it's a piece of pine from the shithouse door of an old tuna boat." Hahahahaha.
Does anyone else ask "Do you know where you're going to?" when talking about mahogany?
You wanna be left alone? I might have gotten 3. So funny together!
Wow...just impressive
You guys are awesome.
I quite liked the Wood you Rather title. I hope it becomes a segment later on. ;P
Nick does Bernadette's arm trick from ZOOM!!!! YES! Great call back to the 70's!
I love parks and recreation
nick offerman needs his own hgtv show
This is awesome!
Does it smell wood? (you're welcome)
this is better quality content than 99% of the crap available today.
I love this series
Thats what she said kkkkkkkk
I got ASMR when he knocked on the wood!
Nothing like the smell of morning wood
Subhadip Sengupta 😁HA! Good one!
Subhadip Sengupta huehuehuehue
Very funny & interesting.
I still can't find the song they're singing in the woodworks. It was dirty and also teared me up. But I don't remember what was the name of the clip!!!
I do the same thing with my arms that Nick did at the end!
Is this Nick or Ron Swanson talking? 🤣Miss Parks and Rec so much!

It might be that cedar has both, however, that's unlikely as wood is considered to be an anisotropic material. Some woods are better in compressive strength and some are better in tensile strength.
Given that he was talking about a boat hull, I'd say that he was talking more about impact strength vs anything.
This is wood smelling asmr!
Nick is the King! #wheresjimmy ?
I feel like I saw this on a Home Improvement episode once, and Tim added gym socks into the mix.
I love y’all!!!
