Fire fucking video - yet again. If you’re looking to become a stylist, lemme share what I’ve learned over the years too: - Never burn a bridge you never know who you’re gonna need - Take pictures of everything. Have a record of your work. Even if you’re shooting on a potato - Don’t be afraid to take charge. In many cases, style makes/breaks projects - Don’t wait for work, create your own. - Don’t hesitate to spend the bread. This game is pay-to-play. - As Kyron mentioned, shy away from “buy-and-returns” (BNRs). The establishment can ban you and pull your card with other businesses as well - Playing off that point, try and source from local brands and smaller businesses. You never know when you can put someone on; who you can collab with. - Always ask your questions. The worst you can be told is no. Be tenacious. - Don’t ever stop studying. The stylist should be the most knowledgeable in the room (imo). - Forecast the market and watch it. Being about business keeps you ahead. - Step out of you comfort zone. - Don’t always make it about money. Sometime’s the things you say yes to pay less now, more later. - Don’t be a dick. They’re always more opportunities for everyone’s favorite person.
so much wisdom love all these gems you mentioned !! gotta have this pinned to the top of the comments so that others know what's good entering this type of work space thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with everyone 🖖🏽🤝👊🙏🔥💭
Coming from philly it’s hard to break the philly mentality ie “joe” was it easy for you to be able to be a ppl person? I find myself often getting bogged down becuz I don’t wanna seem “joe” I have a lot of resources but I always catch myself pullin back maybe it’s the let down part idk lmk!!
@@bbmbmbbmmbmbm Start with yourself. Develop your own personal style. Then try that style out on friends, models, etc. Then add twists to it and change it up. Then try your best to develop your eye. I’m not gonna lie. Not everyone has one. But you will reveal that to yourself the more you do it. Start out low-intensity and do it off of a simple set up with just your phone if you can. Then either find a camera or photographer that can help you build a portfolio. You DO NOT have to go to school for it. I didn’t. Make it organic and prove to yourself that it’s your passion and not a hobby. Opportunities, new ideas, positions, etc will show themselves to you. I hope this helps.
Really enjoyed these open ended vlogs that basically make you feel like you're in the room behind the scenes; considering behind the scenes footage is rarely ever captured for the general public
Recently I decided I was going to seriously apply myself to styling and so yesterday I came to your channel to see if you had any videos talking about what it's like... and then today you upload this. Taking that as a sign lol
I was looking at the Geth jeans a few months ago and knew you’d find your way to them lmaooo. You need to look at self edge as well. They carry exclusive Rick pieces
Great vlog. I need that grey Dingyun Zhang Down Zadena jacket. Love how you put music to your videos,. Love your sense of your own style. Bravo Sir Kyron!
Needed this video so badly, you're awesome!! It is so inspiring because I don't have access to showrooms and would love to use my own stuff (I curate vintage)... do you dry clean everything before or just wash and steam it? And then for the rentals.. do you charge that on your own expenses or the client's?
Really good video. i think you really thrive in the vlog setting and it's clear with your styling that your confidence and knowledge shines through. Would love to see the video with Fernando as well
the geth jeans are crazy, i ordered the last in my size during ssense sale and received a size smaller in the mail, i was gutted. they still fit but about an inch smaller than i'd like, i couldn't bring myself to return them though.
I’m wondering how you gained that confidence cause it’s not something everyone have .I want to try fashion shooting but i don’t know if i have it or not .How you knew you can do this ?i definitely want to know that
I knew since I was 14 that this (fashion) is all I ever wanted to do and then I just focused everything around it in some type of capacity // the confidence comes in time and personal growth you only get better the more times you give a proper swing at things that's probably my best advice and I hope it helps
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. John 3:36 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 Jesus Christ is the only way, seek Him while He may be found, before it’s too late, tomorrow is never promised..

Oh shit - and always steam and prep your clothes if you can. Either that or know where the steamer is upon arrival. And also get there early as fuck.
