I used to live in Reston, about 30 years ago. Most of the stuff at the beginning of your drive around the Town Center was built up since then. Not really the Reston I knew. But later when you drive up While,etc and finally can see all the homes and trees that Reston is all about. But you never crossed the toll road to the southern side where I lived, near Hunters Woods.
Most of this is east of the Toll Road - which is west of Reston Town Center - as the Toll Road is the western border of RHC (I was a patient in it). The Toll Road is the western border of Reston itself - Town Center Drive crosses the the SW coner of the RHC -on purpose - as it is the the southern border of RHC - and the southern border of the Town Center itself. Reston is a MPC (Master Planned Community) - one of the largest - and it's older - and larger - than Columbia. The serious surprise is Reston Hospital Center - it is run by HCA Healthcare - which has taken common-sense pills - since a scathing story by 60 Minutes.
@@PGHammer21A Do you mean the Fairfax County Parkway? the Dulles Toll Road runs (mostly) east-west, and everything we see is northing of the toll road. the FFX County Parkway (in this area) runs (mostly) north-south and is pretty much is the western edge of Reston and near the RHC.
I lived in Reston from1973 t0 1985 it was killer. Now it's a just a Corporation it's sad that Mr Simons dreams of a real town and close community were lost. You folk's out there have not clue on how care free Reston was back then.
What do you mean by care free? I have a house in Reston. Its becoming a Small City eventually. The only Issue I have is paying the HOA and RA, two payments is a bit much.
