    I have exactly all the same parts and add ons only one problem, by the time you buy it all it’s extremely expensive, but worth it for the looks alone 😂

    Like many air rifle moderators this is great looking but acoustically poor. I am fortunate to have a lathe and I make my own out of carbon fibre tube ( Amazon) and turn up end cap and thread ( 1/2x20tpi). Inside I use three different size women’s hair curlers with felt wrap around biggest before pushing into tube. End caps and mid baffle plates glued in using two pack glue. Cost me about £18 . Much quieter than Donny, it’s what is inside Weirauch silencers. Will reduce 12ftlb pcp from 120db to 75 ish. I’m thinking of mass producing the end plugs and internal so folks can make their own.

      Yes you are correct, most of these airgun sound mods are all good looks but nothing to write home about in the sound deading department. It would be interesting to see what your homemade sound mod would do with high power FAC guns but our laws wouldnt allow it.

    • @philthefluter1
      @philthefluter1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually they do make significant difference on fac pcp. I have a slot on my fac for a silencer because in the uk you cannot put a silencer on a firearm rated weapon unless you have it on your certificate. Understandable I think. But for sun 12 guns no problem.

      @philthefluter1 Yeah, i dont doubt that your homemade sound mod wouldn't work well on a FAC airgun, i just dont know how you could legally go about manufacturing one and getting it put on your firearms cert.

    I’m about to enter the FAC air rifle boys club after a 3 and a half year wait for my grant! (Good old D&C constabulary!)
    I’m looking at the FX King Paul in .22
    Any recommendations on mod?
    Just found you and have subscribed

      @@grenvillemoore2346 oh your quite local to me then! So with FAC Air i would say go for .25 but if you already have a .22 slot on your firearms certificate then no worries, i have no experience with the FX King but im guessing it is quite a long rifle so i would get anything short and stubby, maybe a ODB or a Donny Fl Tanto, saying that the Fatboy on its own is only 4 inches long or so that may well be a good place to start looking, also go into the Gunshop and ask to see what Mods they have so you can clap your eyes on it properly.

      Yes mate, just down the road! I’ve got both .22 AND .25 as I applied for both, thinking that I’d get an M3 and barrel kit for the other calibre. But the King is just out of this world. I popped up to SGC yesterday and held a sub12 left hand version (yes I’m a lefty! 😄)
      The balance and how it shoulders is sublime. Anyway, I digress….. They do both a 500mm and 600mm version and I’m leaning towards the 500. 600 plus mod is too long for my taste and the 500 will still give you 70ft/lb max in .22! That’s plenty for me!
      So yes, perhaps I should try a few on the gun when I get it to see what I like. Was thinking Sumo or Ronin from the Donny range……

      @@grenvillemoore2346 so from what i have experienced with shorter barrels is they dont shoot slugs as well hence why i have the 700mm barrel on my impact M3.

      @@PaulHamM3
      That’s a fair point Paul. 600 would be halfway house I guess… but the marketing blurb from FX states that the King has been designed to shoot slugs. The 600 DOES have the heavy superior liner though as opposed to the std STX in the 500.
      Anyway, thanks for your time and input.

      @@grenvillemoore2346 i am pretty sure plenty of other shooters and youtubers have managed to shoot slugs out of there .22 kings, let me know how you get on mate.

    Unfortunately, it is one of the worst silencers..I bought it in the configuration shown above, but it is unusably loud. It can't be compared to the Behemoth I bought instead...

      Can you tell me what your set up is? Slugs? Calibre etc, like i said in the video i think its no more quiet than other sound mods but without doing a proper decible test i cant say anything yet.

  • @glennbaxter2597

    I have the same mod with all the bits and its crap, the ronin and sumo are much better.

    • @PaulHamM3
      @PaulHamM3  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes , after a few months of owning one, i think its a bit big for what i need and its no quieter than my 0DB sound mod which is alot smaller and more compact.
