The X-4 unfortunately wouldnt fit anywhere in the game because it was merely an experimental tailless aircraft. It had no arament or combat capabilities at all as it was a research platform. That said, the Bantam is quite a cool aircraft.
In terms of experimental aircraft, I'd love to see is the Fisher XP-75, a single engine fighter powered by the 3,000hp V-3420, and equipped with ten .50 caliber machineguns. Or the YF-93, an advanced F-86 prototype.
That said, I'm still waiting for production aircraft like the B-45, F-94C, FH Phantom, FJ-1 Fury, and even things like the F6U and F7U. While we have the F3D in game, im surpised we dont have the F3D-2, with the stronger engines, as the -2 version was the definitive and most produced version of the aircraft. There are also tons of different F2H varients that could be added in multiple nations.
Long story short, there is a surplus of available options for Gaijin to choose from, but they keep skipping everything so they can go modern as fast as possible, leaving the hier ranks half baked. Even most of the century series is still missing. So while the US gets all their real vehciles skipped, nations like Germany and Japan have plenty of fictional vehicles that either never existed to begin with, or were proposals that never got off the drawing board.
