I have not heard a single song from Superstars' soundtrack yet. That being said, this sounds so accurate to classic Sonic that if you told me this was a song from a lost Sonic game, I'd believe it without hesitation. It's that good.
Sonic Superstars, releasing November 1995 for the Sega Genesis! (Saturn version in developement with higher detail sprites!)
Unfortunately, much of Superstars' actual OST fails to live up to this or indeed the franchise's musical tradition as a whole. They let Senoue arrange his own compositions again... Man can compose and even PERFORM spectacularly, but he CANNOT arrange, apparently. There are some tracks where you can even tell that they handed arrangement off to someone else and it's for the better every time it happens.
I honestly don't think much of _anything_ Senoue has touched recently is any good, if you ask me. I realize that's a minority opinion amidst the fandom!
@@FoxMan_FF I can't...really say I disagree honestly. I'm struggling to think of anything he's done for the franchise post-Gens was was much good. Well, not much that he was the sole hand in anyway. Where he collaborates with others it usually comes out great or at worst fine.

Jun Senoue was a composer (and arranger, if the internal metadata in the 3D Blast code is to believed) of the 3D Blast soundtrack, and Bridge Island is another Jun composition, so I suppose it makes sense that combining the two would work so well.

Even though these are covers, it just makes me appreciate how freaking good the OST is in general. And these remixes just evoke that 3D Blast and Advance 2/3 energy perfectly. :D

Where you do those sprite animations, i got no luck with CSP cause it deleted the keyframes everytime i try to resize the project resolution to keep sharp pixels
What do you think you’re doing frost walrus? You didn’t even exist during the sonic franchise. And neither did all of the other megaman x characters.

What instruments and software do you use to make your remixes?
I think he uses Deflemask or Furnace. I would recommend furnace because it’s free and it has more uses
@@polyplayerCurrently, he's used Furnace for Genesis since his Vandalize - Sonic Frontiers remix, but prior to that, he used DefleMask. This is all based on metadata from the VGM files.
I heard of most of the Sonic games new ost we're bad but I didn't play it or listen to any of them so I don't know
Most are good, there's about 5-6 tracks that I would identify as "bad". The frustration likely comes from some songs lining up next to the classics perfectly and having some other songs notably worse in quality.

The reason why many consider those tracks bad is because it uses the Sonic 4 "genesis" drum.
Me personally, I think they are okay but when you have the whiplash of other tracks that just embrace the great parts of the classic games especially Sonic CD then to that its easy to see a quality drop. Or really a change of artist.

@@DuskusCB Just take a listen on TSR's OST, Jun Senoue still got it, and he is an awesome composer
The problem really is just his choose for arrangement in the Classic titles, especially with that Sonic 1/2 drum set, but Bridge Island Zone Act 1 from Superstars shows that he can compose good things even for Classic games if he gets a better arrangement, since the OG arrangement was terrible and Tee re-arranged it and made it sound like we see in the final game
