I see so many dudes in the FGC say how they miss old games like if they don't exist anymore. Yet here is SMUG giving us top tier SF4 content in 2023. Love these vids, keep it up.
I know right. Many people still play Street Fighter IV even on PS3, and many play Third Strike on FightCade.
The games still exist, you just have to look in the right places to find players.

i've played this Mirth before on steam. They def wait till it's busy at Mcdonald's, use their wifi & get on ranked. Then when you adapt..they kick the router, switch to Burger King wifi mid set& put the router on the fridge, so it gets warm.

As an akuma player i didnt have too much trouble , but 2 combos/ mix ups off abel and it was game over

Of course they have a lot in common, they're the same character. Manon has the same Fighting style as Abel, she came to take his spot. Abel was supposed to be the new face of Street Fighter but now they shifted towards Luke so they don't need Abel anymore.
This character will never return, Manon made sure of that.

I remember 801 Strider's Abel striking fear in the heart of Daigo. Also, USF4 wasn't given enough time. We didn't need Omega, just 1-2 more years. That would've given SFV a little time to be slightly better at launch. Oh well, it had to be this way.

They were both so much cooler characters to add, instead we get a woman more Man than Woman, and a child in booty shorts....yippee...I only liked Abel and was likely indifferent to T Hawk but I'd much prefer him over the corny child they replaced him with.
I miss Abel so much. I wish they'd put him in SF6 so people could lose their minds over another grappler lol
There is a number of old chars im very curious to see in SF6, some of them not exactly because i love them but because i'd like to see what they could do under the rules of parry, drive rush, multiple supers, more juggles, more wall bouncing, ground bouncing, etc... And moveset changes of course, as every returning char changed a least a little bit. And Abel is surely in my list.

I understand that you're a casual player and I understand that street fighter 5(which is completely the worst SF within the series) is your first fighting game, but you would have to play the other street fighter games to understand why a lot of people still play USF4. The only reason why Capcom let SF6 on all the consoles is because they are trying to get as much sales as possible.

Even with an OP character the game is still better than anything else on the market these days. Just played Halo Reach and that's better than any FPS out today too. Old games really are the best honestly. For real. Modern gaming just has way too many problems that older games didn't have

I still think SF4 is the best gaming game and I don't mean to say anything about SF6, but I think SF4 moves and different quirks and techniques for different players. But in SF6, if you hide the player's name, you can't tell who's who and everyone seems to be doing the same moves in one pattern. What do you guys think?
I remember finding you in a lobby back in the USF4 days. I was Abel, and round start, I dashed in, and the command grabbed you. Nearly had a perfect round over you. One mistake, and I got steam rolled, lol. The next 3 games you destroyed me, but I was happy that I gave THE SMUG a little bit of work

For me the best SF ever, very difficult to learn but once you understand the mechanics the game gives you so many options, lots of great characters and levels and no modern controls that have total frame problems

The only reason I ever played Abel was to unlock Fei-Long back in SF4 vanilla, never touched this character ever since, not in SSF4 and certainly not in USF4.
I love how capcom is damn unaware of the real fighting world when it comes to French athletes, they keep on seeing them as Judo practitioners (Abel, Manon) because France has a lot of Judo Olympic gold medalist, but that doesn't mean they only do this combat sport. There is a fighting sport that comes from that country called Savate and is pretty close to kickboxing.
France has almost as many titles in international karate competition than Japan. And as far as I know, Jerome Lebaner wasn't a ballet judo player, but is seen as one of the best K1/UFC athlete (the old version of it), on par with Mirco and recently Gane, Fiorot, Saint-Denis, Fairn, Charrière, Gomis are top combattants in UFC ... so why the damn gimmick, Capcom; being a bit sour that France beat you most of the time in a Japanese originated combat style?
