I agree with you. I work in corporate and have found that doing the extras makes you likeable to managers and you will be recommended in meetings because of your general aura. If you just focus on work and your job its good but also doing the extras not part of your job gives a good impression to managers and I've seen how I am treated differently than others because I show initiative and go extra.

Lol did my training with one of the big4 umpteen years ago and it was hell lol. Listening to you makes me wonder how you would have known these things almost at the beginning of your training years unless you're actually a genius lol. Had I really all thia guidance then, I think I wouldn't have 'hated' it. From what I've seen so far, you're a genius! Btw, I'm wondering how you're managing the clocking of the overtime. This was so helpful!! How would you go about politely “saying no” to making coffee just because you’re a first year. Managing upwards is hands down one of the most difficult things with the biggest grey area.
