I absolutely love how this is my first tropical storm in North Carolina since moving here from NY, and I’m not even there because I’m visiting NY for the week, but my family and I didn’t even do preparations for it before leaving. So it will be a miracle if we still have a house when we get back.
@@tiamarrow6366 praying for your home to be safe. I'm in eastern NC and husband drives a lot for work. He called me early this morning because he noticed all the creeks and bridges he crossed today, the water was over the banks. It's not looking good for us for the potential flooding, if water is that high and the storm hadn't even come yet. Now it's evening and we've had rain almost all day, quite heavy in the late afternoon. Eastern NC is going to have some extreme flooding!
You're going to have a harder time getting back into town than your house will have. Unless you're beachfront or river front the street flooding that'll be happening the next week or so will be the actual problem
@@HEAVENBOUND267 that's the problem. All the rain that gets dropped on either Carolina has to drain through the rivers. That's why Florence was so bad.
FANTASTIC OPENING!!! All too often😢 - major network affiliates have such low budget corny un-inspiring news sets with horribly dressed low energy news teams. This group caught and held my attention past the one minute mark. Well done guys😊😊😊
I like the ones who stay calm and don’t add big rushed movements like some of them do on the Weather Channel. Even in a disaster staying calm is a plus.
Play rain here in Jacksonville Florida in Duval county on Sunday at 12:00 in the afternoon and today is Tuesday and it was still raining here at finally stopped at 6:00 tonight
Yall need to go check out the neighborhood behind the high school in Socastee outside Myrtle Beach. A bunch of homes were JUST razed last month that were made inhabitable due to flooding from the last few storms over the past couple YEARS. It floods back there every storm but the powers that be keep allowing people to move back in only for it to flood in the next big rainmaker storm like this one… it sits low (as the whole area is at or below sea level) and is next to the river. We lived a few miles away inland a few years ago and we’d flood every storm. They allow ALL these houses to go up without leaving any native vegetation to help with flooding… they just bulldoze it all throw up a neighborhood made of shoddily built homes and move on to the next project. It’s horrible. Stay safe everyone. Sorry, I got a lil soapboxy…😊
North Carolina is not seeing no bad weather at this point..news get your stories straight because I'm a commercial fisherman and this is not bad as it makes out to be..I,ve seen worse than this last week with a lot of typical downpours..
Imagine you were the mayor or the governor in such a situation. An emergency declaration can’t possibly take into account every little nuance and every nook and cranny. So they have to issue a broad declaration. These situations are fluid and if it’s not happening at the moment it may soon be. Or not. But we need to pay attention.
I've watched at least 5 illegal immigrant families get swept into the Peedee River earlier. They were yelling for help, so I threw them a bucket and told them to bail the water out.
I get. 80 inches of rain. Here in Arkansas every time it rains but u don't hear me online crying save my ass. Like u do every time it's hurricane season so shut up

Debra Morgan has come a long way. Seems like just yesterday when she would be covering these hurricanes on scene down at the coast herself.
With technology they can stall the storm!😮
