In all the years that I've been living, I've often been told that Mama Mary's prayers are powerful but no one ever explained why. Now I understand. It also answers the question on why the devil is so afraid of Mama Mary. She has extraordinary grace and love. Thank you. Happy Birthday, Mama Mary. ❤️❤️❤️

@Jonah Wesley Other mortals pray for other mortals all the time. My parents pray for me and I also pray for other people in my family. We do that all the time and do not think that is wrong or silly. We do not worship the blessed virgin mary. We honor her. When we pray to her we are asking her to pray for us, similar to how you ask others to pray for you.
But Jesus was no mere mortal. He is the son of God made flesh. The physical body of Jesus is created, but the son is not created. 'Begotten not made, consubstantial with the Father"

    • @ThomisticInstitute
      @ThomisticInstitute  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

@Jonah Wesley This is a common argument made by Muslims. But if you read the Christian Gospels, which are historically close in time to the events of the life of Jesus and Mary, you will see a very different picture: Jesus is the Father's Word made flesh, God incarnate, born of the Virgin Mary. Of course, Christianity and Islam do not agree on this. A suggestion: ask God in prayer to show you whether or not you should listen to the words of Jesus in the Gospels.

Thanks, Sheldon! It's a common struggle, but Mary is indeed a loving mother! In my experience, simply asking Jesus to to teach you how better to know and love His mother, if that is His will (and indeed it is!) is a great prayer.

As an obstinate convert myself who never had a mother, I strongly recommend abandoning yourself wholly to the teaching of the Church, and have no reservations. 'Total Consecration to Jesus Through Mary' according to the method of St. Louis De Montfort is a most excellent means of this. Daily rosary. Frequent acts of love to the Blessed Virgin. Being invested with Her scapular. These are not only great signs of predestination, and means of grace, but best of all you will find a true Mother as She "makes your blindness day," and you will be closer to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts than ever.

Mary came to me in a vision after shutting my eyes that night going to bed crying 7 months ago ..... she brought wilted flowers that quickly turned into huge lush flowers 🌸🌷💐🌻🌹 I symbolize this with her wanting my sadness to end with her divine presence🕊 I am in awe she appeared to me right out of the blue it was surreal Mary is absolutely angelic high vibrational energy 🌟She looked exactly as depicted so pretty fairy like angelic with delicate features large eyes that sparkled, wearing a shroud covering her head. Her hair Brunette hair swept off her delicate face. A glow of white radiated from her extraordinary experience 🌻 I COULD SMELL THE FLOWERS 💐💐💐

Is this man confusing the Bible with the books of philosophy and vain deceit, and traditions of men? - Colossians 2:8......
Mary cannot hear your prayers, only Living God can and His name is Jesus Christ. Your prayer is against the prayer, that is not how Jesus taught us to pray...
"Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen." -Matthew 6:9-13... Here is the real prayer.

Jeremy, you might find the editorial note from the Fathers of the English Dominican Province on St. Thomas and the Immaculate Conception helpful: aquinas101.thomisticinstitute.org/st-iiia-q-27#TPQ27OUTP1.
      Here is a relevant excerpt:
"St. Thomas as a Doctor of the Church and in matters which were not then 'de fide,' is a witness to the expression of the faith of his time. Hence his line of argument coincides with, because it follows, that of St. Bernard, Peter Lombard, Alexander of Hales, Albert the Great, St. Bonaventure. It was not likely that St. Thomas would differ from the great masters of his time, who failed to understand that the grace of redemption might at the same time be one of preservation and prevention. Nor is it likely that St. Thomas had any reliable information about the movement* in progress at that time towards a belief in the Immaculate Conception. [*Principally in England, where, owing to the influence of St. Anselm (1109), the doctrine was maintained by Eadmer (1137). Nicolas of St. Albans (1175), Osbert of Clare (1170), Robert Grosseteste, Bishop of Lincoln (1253), William of Ware (1300), who was the master of Duns Scotus (1308)]. No doubt he knew something of it, but the names of its promoters would have weighed little with him as against those of Bernard, Albert, Peter, Alexander, and Bonaventure. And it must not be forgotten that among those who upheld the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception, not a few ascribed the privilege as being absolute and not one of preservation and Redemption. Hence it is that St. Thomas insists on two things: (1) that the Mother of God was redeemed, and (2) that the grace of her sanctification was a grace of preservation. And, be it remarked in conclusion, these two points, so much insisted on by St. Thomas, are at the very basis of the Catholic doctrine of the Immaculate Conception."

It absolutely blows my Mind .How awesome must a single Woman be to be designated as worthy of having in her Womb the Incarnated Lord and God of All , the Absolute and Supreme Being Who is Infinite and Limitless .She gave birth to Him who is beyond all Time and Space .The Blood of Him Most Glorious and Most Mighty comes from this "simple" peasant girl from a backwater town , born of a humilliated and conquered nation .This young woman raised the Maker of ALL .She literally had full opportunity to ask the Omnipotent Lord of all to do basically anything and she asked him to make more Wine to help people who needed help .And when Christ our Lord ascended unto Heaven , He did so in full body .Not only is His Human nature fully part of the Divine , the genetic material of this Virgin Woman is now part of GOD for all of eternity .That is mind blowing .No wonder she was asummed into Heaven without dying and crowned Regina Cæli .She was crowned Queen of Everything by the Creator and Ruler of Everything .And crazy Protestants tell us we are worshipping her by giving her the due respect they deny .

1:31 [Mary] lived in a special abundance of grace. Such an abundance of grace preserved her from all personal sin.
So then, it's God's fault for not giving us (nor Adam and Eve) sufficient grace, that's why there's sin in the world.
2:00 God never gives someone a mission, without also giving that person the grace to fulfill it.
Which means God doesn't want you to resist sin, or else he would have given you more grace.

Mother Mary is truly a blessed mother full of grace to all of us humanity, but I also hope that in the future we will see more emphasis and discovery on Father Joseph, too, that he is also full of grace, since he was entrusted by the God the Father with his only begotten son as his son as well as the mother of God as his wife. He became the head of the holy family. And Lord Jesus was also subject to him. He was also sorrowing when seeking the lost teenage Jesus. He is also the father of Jesus. Who else can be called the Father of God the Son except God the Father himself? Look how much grace and glory is bestowed upon Father Joseph.
I believe Mother Mary and Father Joseph together are seated at the right hand of their son, praying and interceding for us sinners wholeheartedly. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

We should rather pray to God, the source of grace and blessings. Mary is human and is not omnipresent, she can't provide any protection or save anyone.

They all are translated KJV 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. I now explain : Ok so now we see the word Almah seems to be used for women who were about to be married. They were on the verge of it,lined up for it ,on the engagement. Rebecca was a virgin to be soon married. Miriam was a virgin sister of Moses. 1 chronicles 15:20 and psalm 46 and psalm 68 is about a girls choir of virgin very young voices, song of songs 1:3 about married queens, concubines and Alamot are the unmarried ones who are likely virgins on the runner up to be married. Proverbs 30:19 the man has a virgin or young woman for the first time”. Ok so the Hebrew didn’t use the Hebrew word for virgin in the Isiah 7;14 but since Matthew used the Greek word of Septuagint for virgin, then Almah meant a type of virgin engaged for marriage? Or if a young woman was pregnant in this case, she was in a respectable term as engaged and so that made her an almah because it was a word for a young woman ready to be married. It’s a type of girl ready to be married, apparently,so its kind of a woman that is engaged!
    • • “a virgin is properly called Bethulah, but a young woman, or a girl, is not Almah, but Naarah"! St. Jerome said this. It means a handmaiden,a girl. So the nonengaged girls could have been called the Naarah. Virgins are the Bethulah and the same thing. Mary was called an Almah because she was engaged to Joseph. Matthew knew she was still a Bethulah (virgin)at the same time as being engaged. She had to be a virgin because the child Immanuel is God with us,and God is sinless.. Isaiah didnt use the bethulah word because he could see that mary was to be engaged when she got pregnant. The Law in deuteronomy Deuteronomy 22:15 says the word Naarah (engaged woman) questioned to be a virgin or not. han·na·‘ă·rāh הַֽנַּעֲרָ֖ה
    • Numbers 23:19 . “Not is a man is God, that He should lie, nor a son of a man that he should repent.”that is how original Hebrew says it. So it interprets as “ Not is God a man that lies nor a son of a man who must repent of sin’. Jesus was a Truthful man and sinless. All men except Him have sin. Another way to see this is interpreted : ‘God is a man of Truth and not a man of lies, and therefore He is not a son of a man because through human sperm from what conceives a child is what makes us inherit the sin that we inherit.’ HE was virgin born and perfect.

The Annunciation is an important part of the Bible (Good News) but not the "MOST" important as Catholics claimed... why?... Prophet John the Baptist said that God can make descendants of Abraham out of the stone/rock which means even 'IF" Blessed Mary had rejected the offer to be the vessel (surrogate Motherhood) of Christ Jesus's mortal body, God can still make a way when there is no WAY, for Mankind it is impossible, but for God nothing is IMPOSSIBLE...
Why Surrogate Motherhood?... In Hebrew 10:5, the passage narrated that God was the one who made/created the "PREPARED BODY" of his Son (The Word/Christ Jesus)... that was why in the "APOSTLE'S CREED" it says (in part)... "... He (Christ Jesus) was conceived by the HOLY SPIRIT, and born by the Blessed Mary...." and so on...
Who conceived?... the Holy Spirit (Prepared Body_
    Who gave birth/born?... Blessed Mary
This means that God used her acceptance to use her WOMB as a VESSEL to place the "PREPARED BODY" (prepared fetus to grow) of Christ Jesus made especially for God's only Son... In those days, for mankind, it is impossible to believe/accept the processes of SURROGATING MOTHERHOOD, but in our Modern Time, God showed Mankind that it was indeed possible and mankind found it successfully possible, which made God TRUTHFUL to his words (Hebrew 10:5).
Why God made solely the "PREPARED BODY" without mixing the DNA of the Mortal Woman?... not to become NEPHELIM's Body/flesh for Christ Jesus... how?... by mixing the Spiritual/Celestial DNA from the Mortal Human DNA like the Fallen Angels and the daughters of mankind narrated in the Book of Genesis... Amen...

If "FULL OF GRACE" meant that the Blessed Mary excelled in all the virtues and gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit starting from her conception/creation, in other words, "SINLESS," then why does St. Stephen was also called "FULL OF GRACE with POWER" and yet he tasted death from stoning and his body/soul was not taken by the angels in heaven. He was buried by the Disciples. Does St. Stephen also "SINLESS" from the beginning of his conception just like Blessed Mary since both were called FULL OF GRACE?

The Scripture never supported that teaching/belief... It was only a Catholic Doctrine declared by Pope Pius IX on December 8, 1854 A.D... For more than 1800 years since the beginning of Christianity, never have this doctrine or belief...
Christ said himself, "NO ONE (human) is Good but only My Father (3 God in 1), everybody falls short (all have sinned) in the Glory of God... never the scripture say that since Blessed Mary was called "highly favored," it does not mean she is "sinless"... Blessed Mary herself said, "My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Lord and Savior (Luke 1:47/paraphrase)... And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
The noun charis, from which we get charitoo, means most literally "gift." You could replace the word "grace" with "gift" at almost every point in the New Testament with no change of meaning. I like the word "gift" because it communicates the aspect of freedom, that God gives spiritual blessings without coercion or obligation. The word "favor" captures something of the same sense, although "highly favored" is still a weak translation. The Greek word in the text is kecharitomene, which is a perfect passive participle, meaning "one who has been gifted." In Greek verbs and participles, the perfect tense not only signified an action completed in the past, but a completed action that is still operative in the present, so the angel is saying the Mary is the recipient of a complete act of gift-giving whose fruits are still in effect. You might see from this how it gives rise to translations like "highly favored" or "full of grace." But "gifted one" would read awkwardly in English.

As a Protestant, I’m totally open-minded to the idea that Mary lived a life full of grace and never fell short of divine stature, but it’s both preposterous and unbiblical to believe that she was conceived without the effects of original sin. Because, guess what? Not even Jesus was conceived apart from the effects of sin. He was human in the likeness of sinful flesh so that He could heal our fallen human condition. Mary had the same human condition, though again, I am open-minded to the idea that, like Jesus, thanks to grace, she never let sin get the best of her.

He was NOT in the "likeness of sinful flesh". As Adam originally he was in the image and likeness of God.

The New Testament does not give an special place to Mary except as a person who was willing to trust GOD with her life . She is a good example to follow. The various theories regarding Mary were created to mislead people and away from Jesus Christ. It is very subtle . Jesus came to restore the relationship that GOD had with Adam and Eve with no intermediaries. Any person goes to Mary with prayers goes directly against Jesus command " Come unto me those who labour and thirst." You decide whom you want to trust and obey, Jesus Christ or the Roman Catholic church. The teachings of Jesus Christ and the Roman Catholic church are at variance. The way to salvation is in Jesus Christ not the church.

Really? You think Mary diverts us from Christ? I think quite the opposite. In John 2:4-5, Jesus refers to her as "woman" - eluding to her role as the new Eve (through Eve sin came into the world but through Mary came Jesus, and salvation). Then she told them, "Do whatever he tells you." That, it seems to me, perfectly sums up Mary. She is constantly taking us to her son and advocating that his will be done. I have to say, I never understand why people think she's some kind of distraction away from Jesus, when I think she's quite the opposite.

Were the Apostles, Disciples, and Martyrs including Prophet John were not saved or were not righteous in the sight of God because they all died not having VENERATED DEVOTION of Prayers to Blessed Mary or praying the Rosary? Do they all declare/acknowledge/profess/claim that Blessed Mary is Immaculate, Perpetual Virgin, Assumption (never seen death), Queen of Heaven, Mother of Peace, Co-Redeemer, Co-Mediatrix, etc...?
If they (Apostles/Early Christian martyrs, Prophet John, etc.) were made righteous in the sight of God by the Blood of Christ (Savior) without devotion to Blessed Mary, therefore, we (Christians) can do the same this day in our time... the Action/Deeds of the Apostles/Disciples together with the written Scriptures (Bible) is our guide for our Salvation with the help and comfort of the Holy Spirit...
Aside from that, the Apostles/Early Christian Martyrs, and Prophet John were all NON-Roman Catholic (Universal) Apostolic Church members, but they were all members of the "Church of God in Christ Jesus" in Asia Minor/Turkey (part of the 7 Churches of the 1st Cent. A.D.)... Catholics just claimed they are part of them even thou they only existed in the 4th Cent. COWBOY LOGIC 101:
This is kinda long but it's kinda interesting.
My own two cents. Did you know that in the Bible, in both the Old and the New Testament, all Believers always pray DIRECTLY to God the Father. And in the New Testament it's always directly to God the Father, "in the name of Jesus". In fact when the disciples asked Jesus himself how to pray he said:
"... your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come..."
    Matthew 6:8‭-‬9
    And...
"But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you."
    Matthew 6:6
"Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it."
    John 14:13‭-‬14
And in God's Word Jesus himself intercedes for us, not his human mother. This is exactly what it says:
"Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them."
    Hebrews 7:25
"Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us."
    Romans 8:34
    And the Holy Spirit:
"In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words..."
    Roman 8:26
    That's good enough for me.
So, in conclusion, in the Bible the idea is NOT to go to the Son's human mother (or to anyone else), who then goes to the Son, who then goes to the Father with your request. No, your Heavenly Father's wish and desire is that you go DIRECTLY to Him with all your prayers and petitions. I'm not kidding. Check it out for yourself. So why go in little circles when the Father wants, and even commands, that we come directly to Him.
"In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father."
    John 16:26‭-‬27
It's as though I was a simple little employee in a huge giant corporation. And the President/Owner of the corporation adopted me and loved me and told (ordered) me that any time I had a problem or a request, I was to go directly to him, and he would handle it. Perfect.
As for me I think I'll just stick with God's Word and go on "drawing near to God (the Father) through Him (Jesus)", being that I want to be "saved forever". I just figure God must know what he's talking about. After all, he is omniscient.
"...for the Father Himself loves you" .
Anything else is pure human reasoning. No thanks. Christ and his Word are sufficient.
    I'll end with this:
"Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them."
    Hebrews 7:25
We are to "draw near to God through him (Christ Jesus)". The unbiblical Roman Catholic practice of praying to Mary and the "Saints" has exactly the opposite effect. It distances us from God instead of drawing us near to him in Christ Jesus.
“You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition."
    Mark 7:9
"The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it."
    John 1:5
"This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him."
    1 John 5:14‭-‬15
Anyhow, that's what I do. I pray directly to my Heavenly Father out of simple obedience. After all He's done for me it's the least I can do. Obey, and not invent my own religion.
God's Word is summarily clear and precise on this subject. Every single Believer, without exception, is to pray DIRECTLY TO GOD THE FATHER in the name of Jesus. He gives us absolutely no other option. To the spiritual detriment of millions upon millions of persons the Roman Catholic Church has taught otherwise.
So I humbly submit to you, in the Name above all names, in the name of Jesus, God's Holy and Perfect Word on this subject.

What you’re saying can’t be true. Before Jesus was raised to life and then to the Father the Baptist of the Holy Spirit was not I effect. Luke 7:47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. Your own argument about the Christ like perfection of Mary proves she couldn’t love more or have a greater grace than all others.
    Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
    Mary is part of “All.”
Beyond that Romans 5:5 says that the Love of God is poured into the hearts of God’s children by the Holy Spirit. Don’t try to argue she had a greater measure of love than anyone else. It’s God’s Spirit and God’s love that make each valuable.
    Exodus 20
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
    5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
A lot of people use these verses about pictures of heavenly things and use it wrong. I don’t see how you all can see anything other than the worship of Mary. She carried the Lords physical body but now men carry His Spirit in them forever.
    Luke 11
27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
The whole point in Him responding the way He did is to keep the people from idolizing her.

The Roman Catholic added the word "METULAH" in the Prophecy of Isaiah which means VIRGIN,... why?... to insinuate/dictate/imply/emphasize the Doctrine of "Perpetual Virginity" of Blessed Mary (forever Virgin, before and after the birth of her only child, Jesus) which is NON-BIBLICAL (not supported by the Scriptures)... that is why the Prophecy of Mary did not come true to the MAJORITY of the Roman Catholics for they called/addressed her BLESSED VIRGIN MARY...and not what she had prophesied.

Huh, because she is dead. She died. I am yet to read of her resurrection or of her divinity. No doubt she was a wonderful woman and i honour her. But how do you make the leap to perpetual virginity and immaculate conception and intercessor to the messiah! You produce these by desperate typologies that bring in new theology not present in the new testament. Just like the rabbis do to OT.
Your talk brother is littered with idolatry. How can you teach this with a straight face?
Acts 4:12 ' For there is no other name under heaven given to men, whereby we must be saved.'
' Then His mother and brothers came to Him, and could not approach Him because of the crowd. And it was told Him by some, who said, “Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You.” But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”
    Luke 8:19‭-‬21 NKJV
Rabbinical jews and jehovah's witnesses justifiably point to these sorts of teachings as proof of the lies of Jesus's divinity and blatant violation of the shema.

"Full of grace" is a fine translation of the underlying Greek.
Being a simple adjective, pleres charitos, as related to Stephen, has a different connotation than kecharitomene in that it suggests a completion of grace in the present moment. In the case of Stephen, God filled him with grace at the moment to prepare him for martyrdom.
Kecharitomene, however, is a perfect passive participle (a verbal adjective). Like pleres charitos, it suggests that Mary is in a completed state of grace at the moment Gabriel approaches her. But unlike pleres charitos, it is a completed and ongoing state in the present that is the result of a past action. Furthermore, the Greek word kecharitomene seems to be a title (or a new name) rather than a mere description. As such, it reveals something permanent about Mary’s character.

Amen.
If Prophet Isaiah wrote "HA ALMA," which means The Young Woman in English, then let us do so... if there is NO written word "METULAH" from Isaiah's Prophecy which means VIRGIN in English, then let us not added it and not translate it differently and add an additional word as VIRGIN MAIDEN... instead of simply MAIDEN (The Young Lady)... take note, the Jewish girl is from 12 years and below, Blessed Mary was considered "HA ALMA" (The Young Woman or The Young Lady, but no longer a Girl)... She was about 14 to 16 years old when Angel Gabriel visited her...
Take NOTE: Remember DINAH, the only daughter of Jacob/Israel, was still called/addressed "before and after" she was RAPED as "ALMA" (YOUNG LADY) which means the VIRGINITY of a young woman was not necessarily needed/required to be called "ALMA."... therefore, regardless Virgin or Not, you can still be called/addressed as "ALMA."...Facts of the Matter...

God wanted Prophet Isaiah to prophesy only "HA ALMAH" (The Young Woman/Lady) without the "BETULAH" (Virgin or Virgin Maiden) so that nobody in the future might corrupt/pervert the Hebrew word "Metulah" (Virgin) into a Human Doctrine of PERPETUAL (forever) VIRGINITY... which teaches that the Blessed Mary is "Before and After" (forever) Virgin and a Celibated Woman who never tasted or experienced Marital Sex with her Husband (Joseph) and never gave birth to other siblings of Jesus till her death which does not conform with the Scriptures... but...
The (West) Roman Catholic and (East) Greek Orthodox Churches have done exactly that... after approx.1000 years since the Prophecy of Isaiah was written (700 BCE)... Amen.

  • @jvlp2046

(Ref. Genesis 34:1-31)... This is a Biblical Story of DINAH the only daughter of Jacob and Leah and how she was Raped by Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivites, ruler of that place... in verse (2)... Shechem saw Dinah and raped her... in verse (4)... Shechem told his father Hamor to get "the YOUNG WOMAN/GIRL" (Ha ALMAH) for him to be his wife after he had raped her... in verse (11)... Dinah was again addressed as "the YOUNG WOMAN/GIRL (Ha ALMAH) after she was already been raped... You need to read it in Hebrew-Aramaic TEXT to find the word "ALMAH"...
Therefore, the Hebrew word "ALMAH" has nothing to do with female VIRGINITY... it is just a mere English translation of "A GIRL or The YOUNG WOMAN" perhaps between the ages of 12 to 18 years old... The Catholic translation in LATIN Text was "The VIRGIN MAIDEN" (Virgene Puella/Virgo)... and not "The YOUNG WOMAN or The GIRL" (Ha ALMAH)...
According to the Book of Deuteronomy 18:20-22... The Prophet of God should/must speak in Public or Write what God had said ("Exactly Word for Word") and not improvise other words not spoken by God... death to the Prophet is the penalty for that.

Therefore, whatever Prophet Isaiah had Prophesied and wrote, that was what God exactly wanted to be by not including the Hebrew word "BETULAH" (Virgin) in the word "HA ALMAH" and just a simple "the Young Woman or a Girl."... why?...

Perhaps to prevent someone in the future from creating some Human Doctrine like the PERPETUAL VIRGINITY, that teaches that Blessed Mary was a Virgin "BEFORE and AFTER" the Birth of Christ/Savior, that she was a CELIBATE WOMAN, who has not tasted/experienced Marital Sex with her husband Joseph till her death, and she has never bore any biological children (sons and daughters) to her own husband who was also a CELIBATE OLD WIDOWED MAN with Children from his previous marriage, and that Blessed Mary was just Joseph's second wife after his first wife died... All of these teachings are NON-BIBLICAL... total creation of the Roman and Greek Orthodox Catholic in the 4th Century A.D. ... no Biblical support about this Human Doctrine... and many more...
Blessed Mary even prophesied, "All generations shall call me "BLESSED." ... take note, she never prophesied to be called "VIRGIN"... (Ref. Luke 1:42-48)... Her Prophecy came TRUE (fulfilled) to the Apostles, Disciples, and Early Christians of the 1st Cent. A.D. by addressing/calling her BLESSED MARY... until the Roman/Greek Catholic in the 4th Cent. A.D. added the word VIRGIN...and called/addressed her "Blessed VIRGIN MARY" or commonly called her "VIRGIN MARY"... the Prophecy of Blessed Mary did not come true to them.
Facts and Truth, Biblically speaking... Amen...

In the time of Jesus it was common for Jewish married couples to spend time doing what newly married couples do in the bedroom until they had to undertake a period of separation for a certain time and during that time the wife (who had consumated her marriage) was called a virgin.
As for Jesus being a poor man, well what happened to the three boxs full of the three most expensive materials in the world that the Magi had given him? (Magi's being the priesthood of the Zoroastrian faith). Frankensense and Myrrh were in very high demand and were sold to people of many faiths to be burnt in their respective religious Temples and, gold was as it is now, a precious metal worth a lot of money. So what happened to the gifts given to Jesus that would of made himself and his family quite wealthy and not poor at all. A box of Myrrh for instance wasnt a common insence and only small bits were needed to be used at any onee time and it was out of the price range of all but the rich people around, same thing went for Frankensense which was also rare and the plant needed only grew in a few places.
What happened to Jesus & families wealth? Those gifts could of got the whole family comfortably through life for many years?
Why have I never seen the gifts given by Zoroastrian holy men addressed before? After all, it is I think a relevant question.

      Hey Nathan,
Coming from an evangelical background myself I can definitely sympathize with your objection. Mary was the greatest hurdle for me to get over. Here is something to think about: When Gabriel appeared to Mary he told her she was going to conceive and have a son. She asks “how.” Every woman from the dawn of time knows the answer to that question. So why ask it? Obviously (as the Fathers of the Church saw) Mary took a vow of perpetual virginity. Mary has to be already married because Joseph, when he saw her pregnant, was going to “divorce her quietly.” If Joseph had conjugal relations with Mary he never would’ve be suspicious of her pregnancy.

    • @MountAthosandAquinas
      @MountAthosandAquinas 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Christian Psychonaut777 , I am not sure how that squares in your mind...Gabriel said she “will have a child.” He didn’t say she “has a child.” So when she asks “how,” even as one looking to the future, she should already know the answer: that is, Joseph and her will have a baby. So her question makes no sense unless she took a vow of virginity which was very common in Judea during those days.

In addition consider the fact that Jesus gave his mother to St John. Why would he have done that if he had actual brothers and sisters to take care of her? It couldn't be because all of her children apart from Jesus were terrible because saint's like Jude, Joses, James and Simon were all "brothers of the Lord" For me it could only be because she had no one.
Also important: passages that describe Mary share language with passages that describe the Ark of the Covenant. This is fitting as Mary bore Jesus who is bread come down from heaven and the word of God, just as the ark stored a jar of manna and the ten commandments. The ark was sacred and pure, contained things of heaven and wasn't to be defiled by men: hence why it smitted anyone who touched it. I simply can't conceive that a woman that was so touched by God would then allow a man to get up in her grill as it were. Women have become consecrated virgins for less.

46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him.
47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.
48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?
49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
